I really like this product. I feel like they should give you more. It is the size of a bottle of nail polish. And it is really only for raised scars with light pigmentation. ScarguardMD basically shrinks the scar. Yes, it turns your scar red and makes it itchy first but you have to continue on with it. I am on my second bottle. I used to be one of those crazy teenage cutter kids - I went to therapy and consider myself healed and am looking to get rid of my haunting past. This is a Godsend. I have some pretty bad raised whiteish or pinkish scars and this has smoothed them out over the first bottle, this second bottle I just started a few days ago, but I trust and love this product that I pretty much carry it around in my pocket book. Once one layer wears falls off or rubs off I just apply another, occasionally giving my arm a break. I will continue to buy this product until all my scars are gone.

I paid the $24 for this product. It contains silicone and hyrdrocortisone and vitamin E. It smells awful and its tricky to apply - its looks like nail polish. Why does it smell so bad?
I used it for a week now and my scar is itchier than ever. No change - just raised, red and itchier. It was a mole removed from my back. I will report more later. I am not sure if I should return it or not...did it make anyone else itchy?

There are two products by ScarGuard - here I'll review what I think is the most effective, the ScarGuard MD formula rather than the ScarLight formula.
I have somewhat fair skin (NC20) but with some hyperpigmentation issiues. I've tried multiple fade creams, etc, mostly for acne scars, but ScarGuard has done the best job so far. Also, the reseasrch I've found online seems to support ScarGuard's formula for being particularly effective.
I find ScarGuard ideal for brushing onto the post-pimple red spot that's left once it's begun healing. The formula somehow prevents that red spot from becoming something you'll be dabbing concealer on for months.
I will say, though, that the claims that the formula is invisible is a bit of a stretch. I use it only at night because it forms a film (part of what makes it work) that I personally feel is pretty visible. However, I just peel or rub it off in the morning, which I'll admit is oddly satisfying ;) Also, make sure you close the bottle VERY tightly, as the formula will get thicker and harder to use if it's exposed to too much air.
So, bottom line - it's not cheap but compared to the other products I've tried, but it works. I keep a bottle on hand for the post-pimple marks, and they're gone much faster which makes me a very happy camper!
