This primer doesn't do what it says. Neither it's smoothing nor mattifies. I have an oily combination skin. I don't recommend this at all.

This product does not work on me . After applying this primer , I proceeded to put on my liquid foundation and I could see dry patches on my skin. What a waste of money .

Another primer which made me break out! It does give a nice canvas when applying it to your face.. My makeup lasts considerably longer with it as well.. But because it made me break out, I will only use it as an eye primer and not repurchase this when I'm done with this bottle!

I got a deluxe sample of this from Sephora, and have used it up. Pros: cheap for a primer, works decently. Cons: Doesn't keep your skin matte for very long, smells awful.

Won't be purchasing this full-size. I much prefer Hourglass' primer to this.

I had this primer for a while now but have only used it for 3 times. I have a combination skin and I used it mainly to make sure my make up will stay longer or I have an event. I needed to use about one and a half pump to cover my whole face which I feel is quite a lot. I felt that my make up lasted for the whole day but my forehead was a bit shiny after a super long sweaty day (due to sweat). This was only one occasion. The other times it was relatively fine. The feeling of the primer is like oil so I wouldn't recommend it to people with oily face. I feel that it does minimize the appearance of my pores but not so much of mattifying. Overall, I would still get it again because of the price. (And I use MAC studio fix press powder)

The pros are it leaves my skin feeling soft and it does reduce some of the shine. I did feel like giving the product a two out of five but for the price it's a decent value. My makeup didn't stay in place any longer then normal and after a few hours all mattifying properties vanished. It may work if your skin is normal to combination, wouldn't recommend it for anybody oily.

Good primer, applies very smoothly and leaves my skin feeling really soft. It also does a decent job mattifying and keeps my makeup stay put. I have combination sensitive skin and other primers, like Makeup Forever broke me out. This one doesn't (I don't use primers on a daily base though).
I do think the Sephora smoothing and mattifiyng primer is pretty much the same thing as Monistat chafing gel..

Does not make my makeup last, nor smooth or mattify. I gave one lippie because it didn't cause any breakouts. I wouldn't recommend for people with very oily skin and live in humid weather.

It's great. I use estee lauder's maximum coverage foundation and it doesn't spread so well, I get patches unless I load up on moisturizer beforehand (I don't even have dry skin; I guess the foundation just kinda got dry over time) so I went to sephora and tested this out and it's like a jelly texture and it instantly smoothes out into that soft powdery feel. It made my foundation glide on (evenly!) and helped it stay in place!! I have very oily skin so midday, it looks like I don't have MU on. But I only got a sheen today and my MU was in place! Very pleased! It's kind of expensive though and the first few pumps were nothing but an oily liquid...

I received a sample of this product and I got really excited to try it out because except of the Too Faced Primed&Poreless I can't find primers that work for me.I think it is good for people with dry skin, but for people with ily skin it's definetly a not.I have combination skin so there are areas of my face where it feels bad on the skin, like my cheeks which are oily.I know it sounds weird because most people with combination skin have an oily T zone and dry cheeks.I have oily cheeck,an oily chin and a dry T zone. When you apply it it might feel a little oily but after a full day outside, traveling 3 hours, working and shopping it did last well.Overall,it definetly does everything it says it does. The only bad thing is the formula, until you get used to it,I don't know if it's just me but I wanted to stop after I put it on my cheeks beause it felt oily.Ended up working great on my skin.

I loved this primer when I first got it. It def made my foundation go on smoother plus it wasn't greasy. However, it clogged my pores soooooo bad and made me break out on my forehead. What a waste :( I have still yet to find my HG primer.

I have oily & sensitive skin & was looking for a primer to keep my face oil-free for significantly longer than the usual three hours my pressed powder foundation & liquid concealer afford me (they're good products but one can never be too cautious with makeup, when it comes to oily skin).

I'd heard a lot about Urban Decay's primers & went to Sephora to check them out but they were just too pricey for me, so the sales assistant recommended me Sephora's Smoothing & Mattifying primer at only SGD20, which, to me, is pretty cheap. Almost a year on, I don't regret my purchase at all - this product makes my face & makeup application unbelievably smooth, doesn't break my skin out & keeps my face (mostly) oil-free for a good five to six hours, at least. Even then, blotting my whole face yields only a small amount of oil. Also, a little goes a LONG way - I need only a lentil-sized amount to cover my entire face, eyelids included. As for the packaging - it's sturdy, hygienic & easy to use - full marks!

I'm constantly on the lookout for the best products for my skin type & the humid climate I live in but I'd repurchase this in a heartbeat, should there be nothing else as good as or better than this once I'm done using it.

I bought this after looking at the reviews and wasn't impressed. It didn't help with shine coming through my makeup and didn't really do anything much. I tried Smashbox and it was so much better as it helped keep my makeup on and looking fresh. For a woman with combination skin, that's a feat. It's a great price, but I'm much happier with the original.

I bought this primer after debatin over BE & Philosophy's Poreless Flawless Tinted SPF 15. I had really loved the Philosophy one coz of the added benefit of SPF, which durin lazy days was the perfect thing to put on without addin sunscreen or foundation. I could wear that alone.

As for this primer, although I like the way it feels on my skin (smooth & velvety not oily or creamy) I did not like this coz from the first time I used this it broke me out with cystic acne!!! So much for smooth perfect skin =(

I do have very sensitive skin which is prone to acne, but the Philosophy primer did not break me out like this one did. But I did like that it kept my skin matte for longer than if would stay without a primer, so that's the only plus point.

I would not recommend this primer to anyone with sensitive or acne-prone skin.

I've been using Smashbox's Oil Free Photo Finish for years and picked this up after getting a sample pack of it. I think Smashbox may work a tad better at oil control for extended wear, which I need, but I do like how much this product smooths my skin, moreso than the Smashbox primer. If I need my makeup to last more than 6-7 hours I go for Smashbox but for shorter outings I go for Sephora when oil control isn't as much of an issue.

I bought this about one week ago. I was going back and forth between this and BE. I decided to go with Sephora because it is cheaper. I have been applying it on my t-zone and my nose. It has made my skin more oily. I do not notice my makeup staying on longer.

I love this primer. I tried a few others but I always go back to this one: The reason? Price. Where I live is around 11€ and we don't have drugstore primers available.I like how it makes my skin feel so soft. I use less than a pump for my entire face.

I received a sample of the regular primer with a sephora purchase and liked the way it felt on my skin but it was a little too much, since I have oily/combo skin. I tried the matte at sephora and loved how smooth and soft it made my skin. I've had it on all day today and have had NO shine whatsoever. I love it. $18 for a primer is pricey to me but it's a good amount so it should last me a while.
