I would agree with other reviewers who say this product is more like a tinted moisturizer instead of a foundation - it is VERY sheer. If you have close to perfect skin, this product is probably all you need coverage wise with its SPF 30. As for me, I have to wear a foundation with more coverage for work and after work activities. However, I do plan on wearing this product when I am not going anywhere so I don't look so scary if someone should ring the doorbell.

I've decided that this product is a tinted moisturizer (light moisturizer) and I use it as such. Most of the time I apply it after toning without anything else and other times I'll use a serum underneath and it works fine either way. It's a great moisterizer for the summer and with the spf 30 it can't be beat. If you've used Neutrogena tinted moisturizer and felt it was a little too oily you'll really like this product.

Additional info: Very light coverage, evens tone but will not cover and I don't use concealer so I can't give advice there. After I use this I apply wet 'n wild mineral veil (I'm frugal) and they work wonderfully together. Perfect light soft looking coverage that looks like you aren't wearing makeup, just have nice skin...

After reading that JANE was filing for bankruptcy, I made a mental note to stock up on this awesome foundation while it was still available at the drugstore. As others have said, this foundation doesn't provide enough coverage to completely hide acne scars, freckles, or dark circles--but it does help blur these skin imperfections enough to the point where I'm satisfied. On days when I want more coverage, I just apply a second layer to my problem areas, and I'm good to go.

I wear the lightest shade, Soft Honey, and it's sheer enough to provide an excellent match to my olive skin without being too whitish.

I will miss this foundation when it's gone. It isn't the least bit greasy, and it never causes breakouts, which is something of a miracle for me, given my history of acne. It also won't pill, flake, or turn mask-like upon repeated applications. It just feels so... clean.

I bought this as a lightweight summer foundation and I it's okay. It doesn't give me much coverage and I have to add some extra layers if I have anything that needs covering. I was really disappointed in the color selection and this foundation is a little too dark for me (I'm very, very pale!). Whenever I use it, I throw some finishing powder over it and it lightens up a bit. I've just been using it on days that I don't have to really go anywhere or I have to get ready in a hurry. I do like that it has SPF30, so it is like a cheap sunblock. It also smells pretty good to me. For the price, it is a pretty good SHEER foundation, so if you don't have a lot that needs to be covered and you can find a shade that works for you, give it a shot!

This stuff is excellent...for a tinted moisurizer that is! No this does not provide the coverage to be called a foundation, but then I tend to prefer tinted moisturizers (especially both of Jane's TM's). It's very sheer, but super blendable, and moisturizing, plus SPF 30, and really decent neutral to golden shades. I just bought 3 more bottles since so few stores are carrying Jane anymore. So basically, if you love tinted moisurizers this is a very good one! UPDATE: I just looked at the ingredients and they are identical to Jane's Nearly Foundation TM...even in the same order...weird!

This is kind of like a tinted moisturizer, but doesn't even work that well. No coverage and felt greasy. I expected much more of a "mineral" based makeup.

I agree with the other reviewers on the fact that this foundation barely gives any coverage. It does have a slight tint to it. I use it over the regular Mineral Foundation and it evens out the color perfectly. I love that it has SPF 30 in it, plus it smells like sunscreen and even in the winter it's like instant summer as soon as I get a whiff of it.

When I heard that the stores were going to stop selling Jane makeup I went out and bought three. So I'm stocked up for a while.

I am not a fan of this product. It does not give me hardly any coverage. It is lighter than a tinted moisturizer. The only reason you might like this is if you have nice skin and want some SPF. But the name is so false. Skin protecting? It is more like skin tinting.
Pros: Lightweight, doesn't dry skin out, high SPF, neutral undertone
Cons: no coverage, a bit on the expensive side for what it does

I don't like this. I don't understand why this is called foundation. It has absolutely no coverage whatsoever. Why do they call it skin perfecting when it doesn't perfect a single thing. I wouldn't even call this a tinted moisturizer because it's not even tinted when it goes on. The only good thing this has is a good spf sunscreen...I think I'll use it for sunscreen and put my other foundations over this. Do not waste your money on this even though its so cheap to begin with.

I took off one lippie for not covering "enough". It's a mineral foundation with SPF 30, which is great for me. I don't normally wear sunblocks, because I hate the smell and feeling of it. But this one is a great alternative, but doesn't really do the "covering" part for me. My skin tone is kinda uneven. I used this after concealer, but this didn't even cover my concealer (looked kinda obvious that I put concealer). It didn't really make my skin tone look even too. It was a great disappointment as for a foundation. But i pairs nicely with my maybeline mineral powder (translucent). I love texture, color (even tho I bearly see it), how it pairs with my powder, and blends well with Jane TM (the organic one).

One of the main things I look for in foundation is a good color match with my skin, which is difficult to find. With Jane's poor color selection I was not expecting much. But this foundation is very blendable and does seem to match my skin. It looks good in sun light. I love that it has SPF 30, but it doesn't feel as heavy as I thought it might with that in it. It feels very light and natural. I took off a lippie because of the poor color selection and lack of any discernable finish, be it matte, dewy or whatever. It seems to be very basic.

I picked this up spur of the moment because it was a bogof thing and I was getting the gel eyeliner. I didn't experience nearly the irritation the other reviewers describe, and this is weird because I started using retin-a again this week after going without for 6 months due to a lack of insurance coverage and most everything is making my skin burn right now. This didn't. I was a little tingly in the drier areas of my face, but nothing compared to the burning sensation most products are producing.

I thought the colors were sort of strange. I picked up 503, or Natural and its a pretty good match for my NW20 skin. This is really sheer and I picked it up because I'm running low on the Awesome CG TM and this Walgreens does NOT sell it.

I like the idea of the SPF 30 and as I said, this really blends well. It's not as moisturizing as the CG TM, but it does okay and with my skin feeling so dry and getting a bit flaky from the retin-a, I appreciate moisture. I don't really smell anything in this, but I rarely note the perfumes in cosmetics unless they are really strong, like the smell of the L'oreal Infallible lipcolor duo (made me nauseous). Note that like the other Jane minerals products, this has a lot of ingredients. I really didn't like the Jane loose minerals, but I do like this product, but I will update as the situation changes and should post a pic of me wearing it before the end of the weekend.

This foundation stings like hell. It streaks too. The Dark Natural was way too orange and created a weird shade. I am not sure what they were thinking when they created this foundation. This is totally an unacceptable product-

If you have very good skin, this might work for you...I did notice it evens me out, it just doesn't cover anything. I'll keep it, because it's ok under my EDM when I'm not trying to look fantastic, but thats about all it's good for, for me anyway.

I'm MAC NW25 and bought this in Natural, it's really hard to tell what the actual shad is because of the frosted tube, but I think the colors would also be pretty forigiving since it is soooo sheer.

Reviews for other Jane SPF products have indicated a stinging on the face after applying. I wear SPF 30 or more on my face everyday and I've never had a problem. I even wear Jane Nearly Foundation TM w/ SPF 30 and no problems. This product however made my face sting, not real bad but enough to be distracting. I've had it on the left side of my face for over 15 minutes now and the stinging hasn't stopped. The coverage is also nonexistent. To call it sheer coverage would be exaggerating. This product only comes in 4 or 5 colors and the color inside the "tube" is very misleading. I am a medium ivory with cool tones and I was able to apply the Medium Fair (which looks very pink and dark) without looking like I had makeup on....again because it provides no coverage. I also tried the Natural and Soft Honey colors...no difference. This was $5.49 USD at Walgreens and it's definitely going back. It comes in a frosted hard tube so at least you can see how much is left. I imagine it would be difficult to use up the last of the product though since the tube isn't very squeezable. The active ingredients are the same as the Nearly foundation TM (octinoxate, oxybenzone, octisalate) but feels different on my face (stinging vs not stinging in the Nearly Foundation TM). No expiration date anywhere on the package.
