This really is amazing. I've been using it for a couple of years since I recovered from horrendous -and I mean HORRENDOUS- cystic acne. My face was covered in dark brown and purple spots, so much so that when I went jogging without make up people would stare at me and comment - my face could have been in a horror film.

Since using it my face has honestly become radiant, even and glowing. I have taken pictures of my progress and my skin now is virtually perfect; only completely close up in good light can you see the remainder of the marks which are still fading.

***BY THE WAY....to all the people who say it leaves you "red and irritated/blotchy/itchy" after two days...ITS SUPPOSED TO!!! It's topical vitamin C, it will take a long time to get used to it on your skin - it even says in the packaging that that will happen, so it's not really fair on skinceuticals to rate it badly if you didn't see the warning. If it happens severely just use it every 2 days but DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is no skin worse than the skin I had, and I've cured myself only with this product - I use nothing else on my face.

...I have had 2 rounds of acne. The first one healed with no products and it took 4 years for the marks to go. Thus that £150 pounds for a bottle (I am on my third) has halved the healing time is worth it for me, even if all my wages go on it.

I bought this last year from the derm, and used maybe half of the bottle with no results...I didn't break out but I didn't see any good come from it either. However seeming as my skin had cleared up quite a bit, I decided to give it a whirl recently.

A couple of months ago, I used it on my face...maybe 2-3 days in a row. The results were just so weird. It made my skin smoother it appeared but it made it red too and kind of irritated/blotchy. As I mentioned it was quite weird because my skin looked nice, but felt rough! So odd! I stopped using it and my skin went back to normal.

Just this week I used it again. I mixed in a couple of drops with my Hydrating B5 Gel (Skinceuticals) and put it on in the morning underneath make-up. My skin looked so glowly and nice...like I was glowing all day (not oily). I was impressed.

I decided to put it on a couple of nights ago on this spot I am trying to fade. I didn't bother washing my hands off when I put my eye cream on thinking it was okay as I have done this before...and it had already soaked into my hands. What do you know, I woke up the next morning and both my eyes were swollen and one had a large crease from the puffiness. It's now day two and it's slowly going away...albeit it is still a bit itchy.

I called my current derm, and the nurses said that once phloretin is on your hands it is there for 24 hours. Also my last derm said that one could put it on at night because you can still get the benefits in the morning, but my current derm said it is recommended to use in the morning. Alas I can't do anything but wait for the swelling to go down. So I would recommend not getting this around your eye area, and putting the dropper straight to the face or on the outside of your hands, not the palms so it won't go to waste.

It smells terrible! I will not be using this again on my face and will search for another vitamin C serum...I still have half a bottle left and don't know what to do with it! :/

Bought this in conjunction with the SkinMedica TNS Recovery Gel, which I bought from a plastic surgeon whose mini seminar I attended. The bottle did not look like the one pictured, it had an attached pump and was easy to dispense. The gel is pale yellow and has no scent so I don't understand how another reviewer stated that it stinks. (??) The doctors said it has a concentration of vitamin C which helps smooth the skins texture. I absolutely noticed the difference using this and the TNS gel together. My brown spots lightened significantly and my face looks radiant! A friend actually asked me what I was using on my skin because she noticed my face didn't have the dark brown spots!

The downside it that it's VERY expensive. I'd buy it again if I could afford it!

This is the most expensive single skincare item I ever bought. Almost $300 for this so-called miracle serum. Used it for almost five months and is time I should say goodbye forever to this item even though is left with almost half of it. It might have even out my skin tone and i did not get any pimples from it but the blackheads on my nose kept recurring every two to three days even extracting it manually. Soon I realized that those areas on my face that never has blackheads before also started to infest with it. I refused to give up and ordered Puala choice BHA liquid to counter this problem. Yes, it did slow down but still have to manually extract the blackheads every five to seven days. The worst is it kind of dry up my face with daily use of BHA. Once I reduced the BHA to alternate days, it became totally useless. I guess the really wise thing to do is to stop it totally. What a waste of $ ! Oh yes, did i mention that this expensive serum did nothing for my three small freckles on my cheekbone too. One man's meat is another man's poison.

I have been using this serum every morning for almost 3 months now. Glad to report that there's no adverse effect, but there's no pronounced positive results as well. Overall I like it because it contains a seemingly potent blend of antioxidants which makes me feel like my skin is well-protected during the day. I need every bit of skin protection I can get during the day as my work entails plenty of outdoor exposure to sun and pollutants. Guess it seems to be playing its part coz I don't get pigmentation or wrinkles (thank God!). But then again, I'm using 5 other products at the same time.

Oddly, I like its burnt caramel-like smell and I take pleasure in the fact that it does not contain artificial parfume to mask its smell. One of my top turn-offs is heavily scented skincare products.

I tried this product before ( two years ago) and just recently (again) because I am hitting my mid 30's--I figured it's time for some extra care and protection. But I guess this product does not suit me at all--I really wish it did but this product left my skin red and irritated from just 2 days of use. So I guess if your skin can take it then good for you but for those with sensitive skin just be warned and probably get a sample first.

I've tried 3 other vitamin C serums and this so far has been the best. They all smell the same and go bad within a year (turn from mostly clear to a darker liquid) - which is unfortunate, but after using this for a month I noticed the sun spots on my tops of my cheeks faded. I'm guessing it's the potency and also diligence in adding it into my routine.

I got this in the regular, runny version, not the gel. I wonder if I would have liked the gel better but it's too late now and I wouldn't repurchase this. First of all, it is very expensive. That wouldn't bother me as much if I liked it. The consistency is annoying, and I don't like using 5 drops of anything. The smell is horrible, and it lasts even after I wash my face in the evening. It doesn't seem to break me out but it doesn't control anything or seem to do much. I know that glass bottles are better for products with Vitamin C but it is hazardous-- I accidentally spilled it this morning and thought I broke it. I really have no clue which serum to try next so if anyone has any suggestions, please email me.
EDIT on 10/18/12: I had to downgrade my review because of how bad the smell is. It smells burnt and dirty. I seriously don't understand how people can stand it.

Ok - I got this product from my skin care specialist who raved about it. I tried it for 4 weeks. It went on okay and my skin did have a really nice glow - at first - after the third week I noticed that the skin under my eyes was beggining to look crepe-papery-ish - I looked like a 100!!!! I freaked out when I really noticed it at work in the ladies room! I could not believe how wrinkly and crepey it made underneath my eyes look! That night I went home and did a deep cleansing with Aveda Mask followed by the Aveda moisturizer and left both on for 45 minutes - then I used my lighter moisturizer to go to sleep in - I did not use the Phloretin the next day and my eyes already looked 100% better - I will never put this stuff on my face again - there must be something in it that dries out the skin causing it o wrinkle under the eyes - oh yeah - I did not see even the smallest reduction in my pores - if anything they look bigger - plus I thought the stuff smelled weird - I could smell faintly the vitamin c - but overall did not care for it. Btw - my product was brand new and very clear liquid so it was not spoiled like some others claim. This product is garbage and a waste of money - if you value your under eyes skin then don't buy it!

I had high hopes for this because I had tried the CE Ferulic and broken out immediately in huge whiteheads that took 2 weeks to clear up. I have been using the Phloretin with the B5 gel (the kit from skinstore.com) for over a month and I feel pretty ambivalent about it. I have a lot of sun damage on the left (driver's side) of my face and on my forehead where I didn't get sunscreen to when I was younger. The sun damage is pretty much the same and no one has commented on my skin looking different. I enjoy the feel of the B5 hyaluronic acid but it doesn't really plump up the skin all the much even with adding a moisturizer on top of it. I really have an issue with the droppers and having to put the product in the palm of your hand and then apply with a finger to the face. I think it wastes so much product and I have gotten around to just dropping the product onto my face with the eyedropper dispenser. I wouldn't buy this again eventhough I am not going to return it and will finish it out. I am going to try Prevage again and see if it makes any more difference. I have sensitive skin and it hasn't broken me out at all so that is a point in its favor.

I bought the travel samples (a pack of 5, i think) first, and 1 vial lasted me about 1.5-2 weeks, applied to face and neck. It's a clear yellow fluid that seems a little oily at first, but absorbs right away. I don't think it smelled like much of anything. I have combo skin (dry cheeks, oily forehead, nose and chin) and also sensitive eczema skin. I used this for about 4 weeks. The first few days, I immediately noticed that it made my face and neck itch, and I even broke out in a couple of small eczema patches on my neck but, against my better judgement, I continued to use it because 1) I hated to waste money, of course and 2) it made my skin so soft! Softer than it had ever felt before, which is not an effect I was expecting. It evened out my skin a bit. It didn't do anything for the 2 lines under my left eye, or the faint line by the corner of my mouth, but I'm not sure I used it long enough (or is this even supposed to help with lines?). After about 4 weeks, my skin finally revolted completely and I broke out in hives. I was so sad and in denial that the product was at fault; I really wanted to use it! So I tried it one more time a month later, and this time my sensitive skin showed me who's boss and I broke out in hives the same day. I'm not going to downgrade my rating because of the hives; I just don't think it's the product's fault that I have sensitive skin, and I do believe it was doing it's job at the same time it was irritating the heck out of my skin. So I love this stuff, even though my skin won't tolerate it. Oh, what could've been!

So this is easily the most expensive skincare purchase I've ever made. If this had worked as well as I was expecting it to/the company purports it will I would gladly have shelled it out every 2 months. However, unfortunately I really didn't feel there was anything special about this product. Firstly, I didn't like the consistency. I would put on a few drops of this in the morning after getting out of the shower and wait for it to sink in before I put on my sunscreen. Ideally, I'd like my vitamin C serum to be completely dry before I put the SS on because it just feels better that way This product just never dried. Or maybe it's just that the texture is very sticky. But either way, I would always apply the next product onto a yucky feeling face, which is not what I really want. Secondly, I don't feel that I got any results that I wouldn't have gotten from a regular C serum. As a matter of fact, even though vitamin C is supposed to instantly firm the skin and brighten, this product was too sticky to even notice it happening, or maybe it didn't even ever fully absorb. This just didn't really do anything to justify the price. In the end, I stopped using it because waiting for it to dry in the morning took too long and when I went back to use it a month or so later I was worried it may have oxidized a lot so I threw it away (my $150 D:). I now use another C serum that is simply 20% vitamin C and water and it absorbs instantly and tightens and brightens for 1/6th of the price. This product was just a lot of hype.

It works. It's simply da bomb. It doesn't irritate my skin which is very sensitive. It does not cause breakouts. I have been using this product along with Clarisonic to help the good stuff sink in. It takes a while before you notice the results, but don't give up. I am very diligent about my skin care, so it may take a little longer for those not as obsessed. I have some brown spots on my face that my friends swear are not all that noticeable but about which I am constantly trying to address. Within 30 days this stuff has gradually, but noticeably reduced them to a level never before seen after 2 courses of Obagi, 3 chemical (lunchtime) peels, 8 years of Retin-A, and hydroquinone all combined. In addition to the fact that my complexion is so even, I have also noticed that it seems to be glowing in general. I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT. Give it 45 days and feel no shame in investing the cash. It will make a believer of you.

I am acne prone, I use to have reddened skin (primarily on the cheeks) and this doesn't aggravate my acne. I used 2 bottles and have recently stopped using for 2 months. Today I repurchased. I never thought it made much of a difference, I never noticed a glow or anything. But I looked at some close up pictures from a few years ago and the small sunspots I had on my face are practically gone! I still have a little bit of acne scarring, but I no longer have the little brown spots/freckles. I'm 29 years old, so not tons of skin damage, but I'm repurchasing b/c I believe in the Vitamin C and prevention. This time I will follow others advice & keep in the fridge!

My pores remain the same size, T-zone area still oily and same amounts of black heads...

I have used almost half the bottle and nothing happened... Every morning after toner... and SC B5 gel following this...

Was expecting smaller pores and less oily skin but NOTHING absolutely nothing was different from what I was before...!

Quite disappointing as I was having really high hopes on it...!

Or maybe it doesnt suit my skin age? Not sure about it...

I have very sensitive skin and I was surprised that this product caused me no negative reaction whatsoever. I tried using the Obgai Professional C serums and they were very drying for me. This product gives me a subtle glow but more importantly it seems to be firming. Also it seems to help exfoliate my skin thanks to the mild acidic properties and pH (Ascorbic Acid). Others have commented that I look more well rested. I have been using it for about 2 months and so far I am seeing more results than with other vitamin C products. I was also using Topix Citrix 15% CRS serum. I will continue with Phloretin CF because my skin looks a lot better. It also does not aggravate my rosacea.

I wanted to try this product because supposedly, help with dark spots and that's my concern. But I found that this stuff has a big amount of denaturated alcohol, which blocks the antioxidant benefit of phoretin, and even can cause free-radical damage, and also, this is obviously the reason of why many people found this product drying or irritating.
Disappointing, now I have to find another product that could really work on my skin, and it's going to be a long process.
God, I want a miracle.

I'm both sad and relieved that this didn't work for me. (Relieved because it would have been a very expensive habit if I liked it) I didn't change anything with my skincare routine, but within three days of using this, my skin broke out with these tiny pimples along the sides of my face and my chin area. So it clogged my pores... but it also made my skin very, very red and irritated. It was just a no-go for my skin... After three days, I had to stop using this because I was getting new pimples every day. I'd like to note that my skin in general is pretty clear, and after I stopped using the Phloretin CF, it cleared up and is good to go now.

But I did give it an extra star because I do think that this is an amazing product in terms of anti-aging. I wish my skin were able to handle this product because I think that its anti-aging benefits (kind of) outweigh the very hefty price tag. I will use up the rest of the bottle by applying it on my neck, but for my face, it won't do.
