Ahh, Sensuous sounded so promising -- fronted by Gwynneth Paltrow & other models -- but no! This is described as "Woody Amber" on the EL display, and that's usually my type -- skin-musky scents are as well. Unfortunately, for me, Sensuous missed the mark.

Estee Lauder, why did you make it so thin? Why did you add that blasted pepper note? And then why did you add honey? To be "sensuous", it should have been smoooooooth! And rich! And well-blended! Not thin & peppery & honey-sweetened! Bah!!

Yet I did get a compliment once, wearing this -- from a friend of my son's. It's just okay for me. Wish it could have been a signature, a holy grail (esp since it's so easy-to-find, even in my small town) -- but the notes never do come together into a "sensuous" blend, for me anyway.

I usually stay clear of Estee Lauder fragrances, but this one is an exception. I really love the warm, sweet, woody smell of this. I find it very comforting and easy to wear. I can't imagine this being offensive to anyone. It's a very unique smelling perfume! Just lovely.

This is THE ONLY FRAGRANCE I use! I am very sensitive (allergy wise) to scents. This perfume is so soft and gentle and doesn't cause any allergic reaction. It doesn't stay on as long as other perfumes, but I do carry a small bottle with me during the day to touch op my perfurme. Lovely sexy scent! You will not regret buying it. I love it.

This is one of my favorite perfumes of all time. To me it smells soft and feminine, almost powdery but still distinctly woodsy. It reminds me a lot of Bonnie.Belle Skin Musk but more mature. I disagree with some of the previous reviews. This does not smell like a mature older lady at all. It smells to me like a sophisticated and mature young lady. Its too powdery to smell like an old lady. The staying power is OK. I get about eight hours from it. Its not too strong that its offensive but one spray is plenty for me. I like that the scent.doesn't transform on me. Once it dries it maintains its scent where most perfumes turn rancid on me after a few hours. Its a win in my book. I only wish they'd made a more attractive bottle.

This is my mom's perfume. I love it on her. I'm not sure about this being a perfume for a woman of all ages, though. I think it's more on the mature and sophisticated side. Nevertheless, it's one of my favorites among her perfumes. Maybe I'll buy it in the future.

Very impressed with this one. It's the right balance of sweet, cozy and woody with a touch of classiness. It's one of the few perfumes that both my mother and I can wear becouse it's not too old lady like or too teeny sweet.
To me it smells a bid like sweetened powdered fig and amber although there is no fig there -and I don't have a problem with that
My chemistry likes it-def recommended

This perfume makes me happy. It's warm and inviting and makes me feel cozy and sexy. I'll be wearing this day and night. If I had to pick a perfect season for this fragrance, it would be fall or winter. But I live where it's warm year-round and that's not going to stop me from wearing this all the time. There is something about this scent that has me addicted!

i wont bother describing its scent because its on their website but its a beautiful warm scent thats not too heavy but not too light. its my absolute favorite perfume and i love it so much i wear it during the day and at night. its that kind of perfume that transends all occasions and ages. I adore it and have loved it since i first recieved it as a gift two chistmases ago. HG

Love the warm, long-lasting smell of this perfume! It is perfect for most ages and can be worn year round, but i always felt it was better in the winter...it comes with alot of product in the bigger bottle so i doubt i'll run out soon, but i would most definitely buy it again.

I had a bottle of this I bought recently unsniffed in a clearance sale. I spritzed it on today before I went out, it hasn't turned out well. It smells dated to me, not modern or fresh. Cloying, to the point of nausea. I felt a little embarrassed when I bumped into an old friend. Will be passing on asap.

A lovely go anywhere perfume, not offensive in any way. When I first got this I felt it warm, sweet but not overly so with a lovely cozy aura to it. I wore it EVERYWHERE for about 6 months, end of summer right through to new years. I asked a male friend what he thought of it and he just said 'ginger'. Great! Well it pleases me and that's all that matters!

Having said that I have run through the first 30ml bottle and am reluctant to replace it as I fear I will get sick of it. Then again all my other perfumes are big if you understand me so I think everyone needs a sort of go with anything scent

This is a very 'warm' smelling perfume... not too intense but still quite fragrant... it's really nice and my mum loves it (so it really does suit women of all ages). It feels very 'wintery' to me and every time my mum or I wear it, I think of sitting in front of a warm fire with a glass of red wine... It lasts ALL day with just a couple of sprays but isn't obnoxiously strong (but isn't faded either). Seriously lovely, warm, sensual scent. Only wouldn't buy it again because I wouldn't need to (so much product!).

A must have for women of all ages. I fell in love with it 2 years ago and finally decided to buy last week. My mother fell in love with it, too. She never buys a perfume for herself but today she actually asked me to order it for her, said it made her feel good and could not stop smiling while talking about it. The perfume is warm and very SENSUOUS. It is not overpowering and can be worn daytime or nighttime. I own 29 fragrances of high end brands like Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, YSL, Gucci, Burberry, Bvlgari, Dior, Marc Jacobs, Coach and other fancy stuff but I won't be mistaken if I say that this is my all time favorite. It makes you feel feminine, sexy and misterious. Go ahead and give it a try- you will not be disappointed.

I love this scent. I think it smells very sexy. It is the scent I put on every night before bed, and often I smell it lingering the next day....I am a little prejudiced because it is by Estee Lauder-I am a bit of a snob, but I really like it!!!

There are fragrances that smell like fruit lollipop (Escada Taj sunset)
Fragrances that smell like clean laundry (Balenciaga Paris)
Fragrances that smell like a flower garden (Beautiful Love) etc...
For me Sensuous smells like a woman. A young and confident woman. Not aggressive and impressive like Black Orchid - which I admire but can't handle right now, but friendly and down to earth instead.
It's a very cozy and radiant skin scent. Subtle but still noticeable.
Flowers are in the background, contribute to the whole composition and let the wood, sandalwood, amber, pepper take the first place. Honey brings everything together and softens the overall impression which is by no means cloying. Mandarin orange adds a touch of freshness. Everything blends seamlessly, very well done... On me it doesn't really change as time goes by but still, it's too unique to get bored.
Silage and longevity are fine - not amazing and I tend to wear this when the weather is a bit cold and I need a little confidence boost to leave my bed in the morning!

Edit: Now that fall is coming I'm really looking forward to wear sensuous again. The first time I smelt it I thought ''Oh, that's what I would like my scarves to smell: comforting, warm, but not too sweet or overwhelming, perfect!''

MY HG PERFUME...before this i was using jlo...i liked it but was too fruity..so i wanted to try something warm and woody for a change...my dad gifted this to me and am hooked on to it from day 1...not exactly a summery light scent...best used during winters cos it actually makes me feel warm and cozy...as far as the scent is concerned like i said it woody...reminds me of sandalwood and a hint of something fruity..jus lovee it!
