This is a corally red shade with a golden shimmer. I found the color and formula pretty similar to Guerlain Nahema. Just don't care for the formulation. it's too thin, slippery and fades off within a few minutes.

The color is a watermelon red. It's warmer than MAC's Russian Red. It's fairly moisturizing. However, it tends to feather - which I found it to be a problem with all my NYXs.

I love it! It's more along a red lipstick with a touch of hot pink.
Smooth & glides on easily. I usually tap my finger tip then dab it on my lips as a tint instead though.
Suits me really well & I'm more of a blue undertone whatever you call it.

Great colour. It's a deep watermelon red coral pink on me. I know that ends up sounding vague but that's what it is and it's really hard to say which tone dominates. I will say it was not what what I expected from the name and official swatches but at this stage I think if you know anything about NYX, you'll know that their swatches and names are almost random and out of sync with the actual colours. The texture is very smooth, almost perfect to me. It does settle into lines on initial application but strangely, after a few minutes it melts into lips it looks smooth, shiny (not overly) and even. Wears well for about 3 hours which is reasonable to me since it's not matte and wears off evenly leaving a nice tint. I don't use lip pencil with this but if you are oily skinned around your mouth it is likely to bleed (like any red), NYX Plush Red pencil would go well with this but of course you can use whatever to push the tone in a particular direction. Very glad I got this lipstick though. Do not turn your nose up at these 'low-end' lipsticks, they're actually good stuff!

Before buying MAC's Viva Glam I, I decided to try out a cheaper red to see if I had enough figurative balls to wear red in public. I have a tendency to put on bright lipsticks and then right before leaving the house, wipe it off because I didn't have enough said balls. But when I sampled this lipstick, I DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE IT OFF!
This is moisturizing, a perfect red and can't be beat at the price of six bucks!
Edit: Since the formula is shiny and slippery, it looked rather hooker-ish rather than retro. Disappointed, I decided to try MAC and I'm glad I did. I recommend investing the extra money and get something non-hooker-ish :)

Opium is a gorgeous somewhat glossy bright pink/red with just a hint of coral. Still, I would describe it as a cool shade. Lasting power is great. Would repurchase.

On my dark pink pigmented lips, Opium is a bright but rich true red with subtle, diffuse colorless shimmer. If I had to assign this red a tone, I'd call it pink, but it has nothing even approaching the subtlety of Midnight Dinner. If you're the kind of person who looks good in bright, dramatic reds, this is neutral-toned enough that it should work for you regardless of skintone. Black Label Lipsticks have full-on color, but are the first lipsticks I've used that don't dry out my lips at all. There's a slight grape scent as I apply, but no taste or scent on the lips. The packaging is a very cute black sparkly rounded-off square tube, black lace patterned and with a "sample" of the color encased in clear plastic at the base. US$7 @ nyxcosmetics.com.
