I have previously owned the sun protection compact in the bright blue case which I found to be amazing. I thought I'd try another compact foundation (for winter), and the sales assistant at the Shiseido counter said this was the closest match to the blue one. This foundation is a lot less sheer and the coverage is very minimal, not what I was expecting. It won't cover blemishes or spots well but it does provide a beautiful finish and lets your skin shine through, the result is a very natural even coverage. My husband said my skin looked lovely wearing it, maybe the sheerer coverage is more natural and flattering? It is a great convenient size, and the packaging is lovely. Will keep using, so far so good :)

Nice coverage but looks cakey. Easy to apply. The pan keeps falling out. I like the sponge that comes with it though.

I have combination skin, but in the summer it starts off dry on my cheeks and forehead, and oily on my t-zone and it pretty much stays that way all day...in the winter my skin is extremley dry all over (and just to put it out there - i haven't tried this product in the winter yet)...

So far, I think this product is great -I think the coverage is excellent - I basically wet the sponge with water, squeeze out the excess, swipe the foundation, and then apply and buff all over my face...I like that you can choose what coverage you want basically by how much water you add to the sponge before application.

If usually carry a loose powder with me during the day, so with 1 - 2 trips in the bathroom to touch myself up - it stays pretty well... it pretty much covers my dry and oily bases since the foundation is creamy, yet still retains that substance of a powdery foundation...I would repurchase, because it works for my summer skin, but i have a feeling that it would be WAY too drying for me in the winter...

All in all - good product, and i like the fact that when you go to repurchase, you don't have to buy the entire compact - you can just buy the foundation refill itself to put in the compact for $7.50 and you can also buy a new sponge for something like 5 bucks (extra points for thinking about the hygenics)...

I don't like this compact powder. I expect much more from Shiseido.
The coverage is less than medium I would say. It looks a little opaque/or whitish? on me, not natural. Lasting power less than medium. And after a few hours it makes my skin looked so tired an a little ill. I bought this for use on less makeup-days, only to even out my skin tone.
But I prefer to be REALY without any makeup on those days than look ill and tired with this one. And I have liitle bumps on my chins at the end of day I use this. Realy don't like this. For this price you can get much more better powders. Only the packaging quality and sponge is good but not the product itself.
