Doesn't stay on my oily skin. Clings on flaky skin. It has like tiny sparkle in it so it look really weird up close. Has good coverage.

I got this at my local flea market for $4.50 because it is now discont. and being replaced with the flawless (i have not tried that one and will not.) Anyway on with the review....the shade I purchased was Light Ivory (the lightest shade.) And like every other foundation I have tried this was too dark. My skin is very pale (NW05-10) with very pink undertones. I think this foundation shade would be better for someone with a skintone closer too NC10-15. The foundation went on very well blended so nicely and felt like I was wearing nothing at all. It also as a matte finish which I love. It also stayed all day without any primer and with only pressed powder (NYC translucent) on top. I have combo/oily skin. It did settle in to pores and fine lines (i only have little lines under my eyes) which could have be frome me not using a primer. The packaging is very nice though (glass bottle and black screw top lid) but it has no pump. Also it has a very strong chemical smell (i perfer my foundations fragrance free) but it does fade as you blend the foundation in. Overall it was a very nice foundation but after a week of useage it broke me out (clogged pores which led to blackheads and breakouts along my chin and left cheek---my worst spots for breakouts.) But needless to say even if this foundation had been discont. I would not repurchase it. I am glad that I got this for $4.50 and not full price. This was also the first foundation from Avon I have tried. Also just as a side note if you have acne prone skin like myself regardless if your skin type I suggest that you stay away from this foundation (and any other foundation that contains this) because it contains sodium chloride (which is salt) because it is and can be very irratating to your skin and cause it to break out.

I have tried most foundations out there and needed a new one so being an avon rep I was able to get this very cheap so decided to give it a try. I applied this in the morning after doing my normal morning routine. As soon as I put it on i could feel my face tingling slightly but thought it was nothing so carried on applying it to the rest of my face.

Just as I was finishing off my whole face was stinging very badly, I was even finding it hard to open my eyes so I very quickly washed it all off. My whole face was bright red and it stung very badly for about 2 days afterwards. I was obviously allergic to one of the ingredients. However this has never happened with any of my foundations before.

I would definitely not recommend this to anyone, even though it could just be me that this happened to.

Just like Avon Anew foundation, if you can pass the awful chemical smell it is an ok foundation.

This product SUCKS!!!! In the beginning I didn't hate it that much, because, even though it wasn't my color, it had medium to full coverage.. I quited using it after some time because I've bought another foundation.... 1 month later when I decided to use it.. I was disgusted!!! the oil was seperated and it was sooo awful..... and I spilled some on my shirt and no matter what, it's not coming off... also, the packaging is gross... a pain to work with...

I have to say this foundation is not that bad..At first when I openned it it was almost like water and I had to shake it for a very long time in order for it to thicken as it is a bit watery. I have been wearing it for a week. No brakeouts, I seal it with my Artistry powder and it looks good. I have to say it does last most of the day and the color match was good too. Im an NC35 in Mac Studio Fix Fluid. I got this one in Natural Beige. It has SPF 10 so I guess it is a plus for the product. I like to give a product a chance at least for a week before I can give a review.

This is an overall really good foundation. The shade selection is amazing! It's has buildable medium-coverage, but it wasn't quite enough coverage for me in places- so a little concealer may be needed for acne scars. The formula is not irritating at all and blends really nicely. I'd recommend this foundation for people with slightly drier skin. (it can accentuate very very dry patches) And, if you put a translucent powder on top of it, it'll stay most of the day. So, it's a pretty natural-looking foundation and it covers well! I'd definitely repurchase.

first let me start off by saying the one i purchased was wayyy to dark. the packing is super messy, it gets all over your hands. and it transfers to your clothes, so beware of wearing white! the smell is very overbearing and its horrible. as the day goes on you can still smell the awful smell the product gives off and it left my skin looking a little blotchy. the price was kind of cheap, no wonder. but the coverage is good i guess. i wouldnt recomend this product to anyone. and i will not be purchasing this again. hope this was helpful guys

Ideal Shade does everything what it promises, too bad this foundation doesn't work for me. I have it in Ivory and this shade matches my skin perfectly. I think the ivory has more pink undertones than yellow. It has a very nice smooth texture, blends wonderfully and looks very natural. Unfortunately it doesn't cover much. The coverage is almost sheer, so it doesn't cover my acne or scars. The good thing is, that it doesn't make my enlarged pores look so obvious. The smell of this product is pleasant to me. I would recommend this to people that don't have many imperfections and need a natural foundation with a smooth matte finish.

This has been my Go To foundation for the last 3 months, every time I open my foundation drawer, I bypass my MAC Studio Fix Fluid, Studio Sculpt and more to reach for this one.

I dont understand the scent issue people are having, I dont really smell anything when I open this up.

The coverage is good (Id say build-able medium) but like other reviewers are saying, it doesnt last ALL day.

I was using Ivory for the Winter and when I realized how much I loved this foundation I went up 2 shades for the summer. Will for sure buy this again and again.

Update: I am now on my 4th bottle of this, so I guess its staying

So far, so good. I much prefer this over MAC Studiofix liquid, mostly because I was able to find a very, very good match with this foundation. I think I'm NC30/C30 (perhaps a tad lighter, so maybe NC27) and I'm wearing Natural Beige. I could also get away with Sand Beige, but it's slightly darker with more orange/peach tones. Natural Beige, IMO, is more yellow/beige.

With a primer (I'm currently using the Magix one from the same brand) and a setting powder, the foundation stays pretty fresh for several hours. I also like that there isn't a sticky feeling like some other TMs and foundations have. The coverage is also very buildable; but on its own it gives a satin-matte light to medium coverage. I will update when I use this more!

UPDATE:
Never mind, I broke out massively after using it for a couple months. Too bad :[

I tried this foundation but it is not good for women with larger pores. It immediately settled into my pores and made them more obvious. It was not good for me specifically for that reason alone. I gave it 3 stars because it does have a nice, light, silky feel so I know a lot of women would like it. The smell is noticable but not bad. It's kind of a "nutty" smell.

This is a pretty good foundation, but the lightest shade "ivory" is dark for me. Otherwise I hate the smell, it is really strong. I think this has a built-in primer in it, because MagiX primer has the same scent. So it is really long lasting, but I think the colour also oxidazes a bit, but nothing really bad. Coverage is nice, I would say this is a medium coverage. I hate the packiging, a pump would be nice. If I let this foundation on my shelf and i don't use it for a week, the formula gets separated and on the top something oily and transparent appears, I suppose the silicon oil from it. It is pretty weird and has an oily feeling to it, but if you shake the bottle it mixes.
Not a bad product but I won't buy it again.

I generally prefer tinted moisturizer over regular foundation, but this is one of the better foundations I've used. I would say that this is a medium/fullish coverage foundation. The texture is silky and the finish is so smooth it's almost airbrushed looking. It does not tend to settle into fine lines as many foundations tend to do and it makes my skin look dewy without being too shiny. So far it has not caused breakouts or other skin irritation. I never knew Avon had such a nice foundation! My only complaints are the smell (it's not so bad that it's intolerable & it fades quickly) and the glass bottle - it can be difficult to get the product out. A squeezable tube would be better. Some of the shades are not good and can be too pink or orange. The color samples online and in catalogues are way off. I would ask an Avon rep for samples so you can get your 'ideal shade' before purchasing.

I find this product isn't long lasting. It doesn't say on my skin for the whole day. I find it doesn't offer a lot of coverage, and they don't have a wide range of shades. When i used this foundation I would have to mix it with other foundations to get my exact shade. Not my favourite faoundation

Colorstay has long been my HG due to default reasons but its never been quite perfect, I have used all the formulas and while it they are all all time HG for lasting power and oil control I have never felt they looked natural or "soft'. I wanted something cheaper and still suitable for oily skin and after reading many reviews on Avon Ideal Shade including Paula B. recommendation I purchased this for $7.99. I am very pleased. It goes on smooth as silk and blends like a dream. It takes a little while to set up (but Colorstay sets quick and that is what I am used to) and it doesn't look like a layer of foundation on my skin it just looks like skin- perfect skin. I use "nude" and Avons claim of looking natural in any light is true. I do have to do a few more powder touch ups during the day than with my Colorstay as Avon doesn't hold oil at bay as long- however it does not fade, oxidize or wear away. Perfect for now will have to see how it fairs in summer.

UPDATE- As much as I adore this I have reverted back to Colorstay. Colorstay just holds up better

I tried 3 different color samples on my neck and jaw line to find the best match. I'm the lightest shade, Ivory. I squeezed the sample on to the back of my hand and used a foundation brush to apply. It was really silky, smells nice, didnt dry too fast, and just glided on (making it idiot proof to apply). It didn't accentuate the fine lines under my eyes at all! It dries to a satiny very natural finish, but covers imperfections well. I will still use the Ideal Shade concealer for the dark spots under my eyes and any red spots. It looks fabulous without the powder, but I like to make it last longer throughout my day. Four hours after application it still looks flawless and didn't melt. Most foundations made my pale skin look pastey, dull, and dry. Ideal Shade makes my face radiant! I couldn't tell you the last time any product gave me a healthy glow lol. I'm just amazed at how it looks more like great skin than skin with foundation on it. I love it, and plan making this a staple!
