I got this lipstick with 2 other (a nude and a dark crimson) at Sephora on sale for $15....super good deal. I had been eyeing Kat Von D products, but never purchased anything prior so when I saw these lipsticks on sale I had to take the opportunity.

This is NOT your mother's lipstick! I love the packaging MOST of all. The lipstick is creamy and wears well enough for me as I am not really a lipstick gal. This lipstick is bright and wears well alone and with a gloss. I gave it 3 lippies, because I don't wear it much.

Warning; Kat Von D's UNDERAGE RED Painted Love lipstick is R-E-D, wallflowers need not apply. On me it applies as a bright shade of crimson, but it loses a star for the fact that the bright tones dry down slightly to a raspberry shade after a few hours wear.

Also; It is similar to the Kat Von D Painted Love lipstick shade 'Hellbent' [I have pictures for both product reviews and it's hard to tell the difference].

I love the matt finish to this shade, that dries like a stain. I can eat and drink, but the raspberry stain will still stay on my lips for hours with no touch-ups; No feathering and the colour will still look even. My lips are dry, but the formula doesn't flake.

I also love the eye-catching black case with the sliver rose design and the clear base to the tube - it makes finding the right shade in my makeup bag easy.

This one I don't love. It has the same staying power as the others, but the color is just off and it's really drying. I'm glad I put nude liner on underneath, as it bleeds a bit even with it. The color just isn't the right red. It's not rich or deep enough, it's sort of brassy and too pink. Adding a clear gloss helped smooth it out a bit, but make sure you exfoliate first, it really shows any cracks or dry skin. It's ok, I wouldn't get it again.

Lovely colour.
I think this applies really well, no nasty smell/taste, last's for a long time, not sticky, not drying, a good product. But as it fades, it starts to look like a lip stain, which I'm not too keen on.

very pretty color but does not go on smoothly or creamy (this could just be me), but if i put a lip balm under it it's fine. as it wears off it looks sort of like a stain which is a good thing because we all want our lipsticks to stay on. the only reason i would not buy this again is because i'm not a red lipstick fan i just think it doesn't look right on me.

UPDATE: i'm loving this color right now!!! i found out that if i apply it with a lip brush it looks better on me and of course i can control the application much better. now, i would buy it again!!!

I bought this a fews ago thinking it would be my perfect red. I wanted to like it but it didn't work for me. First of all, it was too drying for my lips, but the color just wasnt right. And as lipstick go wasn't any expensive then other high end ones. I did however try this in a lip gloss which I love. it is less drying because it is a gloss and the color has more of a softer look which i love. the price is still high, but nothing more than a MAC or Clinque. I would trade in the glosses for the lipsticks.

This lipstick looks really good on my lips. It is a perfect for the pin up girl look! It's very bright so I only wear it when I'm feeling confident it's a very sexy color. It has great staying power i don't need to reapply more then once all day! And the packaging is so freakin cute!! I love it!!

Not the greatest red lipstick, it dries out way too fast. I will admit the packaging is adorable! but, i will not buy it again... it works poorly.

I love this lippie!! It's bright and intense! Just how I like my reds. Matte with a light sheen. Great staying power. I apply in the morning and at night It's still there. Comes with lots of product. The packaging is freaking gorgeous.

Nice colour, but too drying. Even with base, dries and flakes. It was just weird. Better, cheaper comparable lippies. Sigh :(

The packaging is absolutely gorgeous. It's exactly how I would've done it if I were to design a lipstick lol! Underage Red is an INTENSE red that will make you stand out in a crowd. It screams attention! Very daring and adventurous. It's a warm-toned red. super gorgeous.

This is my all time favorite red lipstick that I've ever purchased. I bought it off of Sephora.com sight unseen and waited with my fingers crossed. I was in desperate search for a true old Hollywood glamour red and this shade delivered completely. The only little drawback that I have is that it does make my lips crack slightly so I have to put on a tiny layer of balm underneath it. Problem taken care of!

I was looking for a "true red" lipstick, as all lipsticks I have, some expensive as hell, tend to come out pinkish on my lips. So I went to Sephora and asked for their advice. They recommended this lipcolor and with the "Lip Plump" from Benefit underneath it, I sure found THE red lipstick for me!
Also it's consistency is great, I don't find it drying at all. I love the matte effect it gives my lips. I think, anything shiny on bold red lips looks tacky anyways.
The price is a little steep, but it's sure worth it.

I love other Kat Von D for Sephora products (eye shadows, liners, and lip gloss) so I assumed I'd love this lipstick. The color is PERFECT for what I was looking for, a very vintage looking red lipstick. The packaging is so cute. BUT it bleeds a ton, doesn't wear well at all, and dries out my thin lips. I have to line them, put on lip balm, sometimes even lipstick primer, and it usually still doesn't make it an hour before smudging. Many drug store brands wear the same or better for way less. I'm not going to be buying anymore lipstick from this line. I suggest buying this only if its for temporary wear (photos or something).

Very cute packaging, but a very average lipstick. The color is a bright classic TRUE red (NOT crimson), but the lipstick is very, very dry and matte. It gets crumbly fast and doesn't wear well. If you have thin lips, it sucks out all the moisture and makes them seem thinner. I have to apply a little lip balm first, but that tends to make the color bleed out to the edges, leaving the center of the lip lighter...not a good look for red lips.
You could find a better matte, classic red lipstick for much cheaper at the drugstore. For the money, this is NOT worth it.

I might add that I have 10+ red lipsticks at the moment, and am always on the hunt for the perfect red lipstick. I find myself reaching for my other reds over this one. This bright, true red color is hard to find, but maybe that is because it is not that flattering. I have similar red shades that are just slightly more orange based, or just slightly more blue based, and they are much more flattering on my olive skin tone.

I just bought this lippie an hour ago and I tried it just now and I love it! This texture is kind of gel-like and somewhat matte at the same time. The lipstick does not feel like it would be drying like most mattes. The color is more of a true red with a slight orange undertone. There is no blue or pink in this formulation. I can really see myself wearing this a lot. I feel the color itself is very basic and similar to some of my reds yet there is something slightly different about it that made me want to have it. Overall, I am impressed with this collection. It is LE, so go check it out while you can!

Beautiful red matte lippie. Clean, true red on me. Definitely not for those afraid to wear reds! Stays in place well due to the matte formula. Might feel dry to some, I was ok with it. Also nice with some clear gloss over the top. Looks great with Rimmel’s Red Diva liner. I’ll probably pick up Lolita and Misfit next week! Lovely packaging, you can see the color at the bottom and the tube is so pretty!

A real 'pop' of bright crimson red. A soft matte texture, that some might find dry -- but I like that texture for real reds. Hence, no bleeding or greasy shine, which both are absolute no-no's for red. Love the rubberized packaging (like NARS) and the clear bottom, so you can grab the color you want, quick.

So after laying a wicked smackdown on Misfit by scoring it a 1 here and hailing it as the second coming of utter crap I have to say I don't feel as strongly about Underage Red. It does infact look like the red Kat is wearing in the promo picture (although its probably not). Its described as a 'bright crimson' and it is, on color alone this is very decent. Its fierce but a little to fierce for me since when tried it on my boyfriend said it made me mouth look like a set of wax lips (he hates red / bold lipstick so I took the wax lips comment with a grain of salt) but still, for me personally this red seems like theatre or costume make up ie, doing Marilyn Monroe for the costume party on Halloween or something. Those who feel most comfy in a retro / old school glam look will probably love this to pieces. I do find the formula dry and waxy BUT in a true red lipstick I would rather it be on the dry side....uber glossy reds make you look like you just ate a rare steak with no utensils so considering that the formula was only slighty bad as opposed to god awfully bad. If youre a Kat fan and just have to have this because her name is on it then go for it, you'll probaby be basically happy with it but if youre looking a bright crimson lipstick and don't give a damn about Kat Von D it wuld be best to go for some of the infamous MAC red shades or grab Chanel Lover.
