Low score for flawed design. It has a metal file on one end and the shaver is on the other end. You slide a clear plastic guard over one end of the other, and this acts as the handle. The guard in position over file end allows you to use the callus shaver end, and vice versa. This design is problematic because the guard doesn't fit snugly - it wiggles and wobbles in your hand as you use it. The button you press to release the guard for switching between file and callus shaver is in a bad spot. It's being pressed down while you use the product, making the guard feel even more wobbly. Even though it's an sturdy product (it's mostly metal after all) it feels quite flimsy to use. This is totally unacceptable for such a potentially dangerous tool. It has a freaking razor blade on it. It should feel secure in your hand!

Buy a different callus shaver (try ebay) that is not dual-purpose like this one. Get one with a solid handle.

The product does work - it's a razor blade. But I'm not going to use it much, if ever, since I don't feel secure handling it. Ideally you're supposed to use the product after your shower, on soaked-soft skin. So on top of the wobbly handle they want to add wetness to the equation?

If I may nitpick, the instructions on the packaging/sephora are quite bad. The video tweezerman has on youtube explaining how to use this is just as bad! Fortunately it's not too hard to figure out, but with such a potentially dangerous product I feel directions should be really clear.

Finally, the product comes with a small, discrete guard covering only the sharp part. It's not readily apparent that this is a piece you need to remove in order to use the product; at first I thought the product just didn't work. It took me a while to figure this out, THEN I was scared of how to remove the little guard piece because I didn't want to hurt myself.

I realize I sound like an accident-prone fool in this review but I don't care. I think this is a very poorly designed and poorly supported product and I want to "warn" people of that.

I have really bad calluses and always have because my feet are shaped so that my shoes never fit me entirely properly. I have tried everything including the ped egg and many different other callus 'scrapers' but they have ever only removed a bit of the callus. This product removes ALL OF IT. I did cut myself quite bad the first time I used it, but now that I have the hang of it using it is a breeze.

So just be careful using it the first few times until you get the hang of it. You need to go very slow and only take a little off at a time. It takes a while but the results are worth it. You should also follow with some sort of foot cream.

Also, I find that I don't need to soak my feet before I use this. i tried it, and it just made it much harder to take off the skin.

Wow! So... nobody likes to admit that they have callus' on their feet but honestly I have a lot, and they are really embarrassing. I love going to get a pedi but the results don't last long enough to keep my callus' at bay. When I was stopping at Sally's I was just looking for replacement blades for my "Sally Hansen" brand callus shaver and came across the Tweezerman Pedicure Set... It was loaded with files and clippers, and all sorts of amazing goodies but the most amazing product in this thing was the Callus Shaver.. Among many other thing's this kit also came with TWENTY!!! replacement blades, and i paid just over $20 CAD for the entire kit!
On Topic: The callus shaver is the best I have ever used, In face I get better results using this than when I go to a professional! I do want to note that I have really really bad callus' so there is a lot to remove without being damaging to my foot! But seriously, this thing made it so simple and fast to remove all of my calluses with ease!
My feet have never felt smoother or softer and looked so pretty!
Seriously, for anybody suffering from callused feet I urge you to go out and try this! The drugstore brand DO NOT compare!
And I got such a good deal buying it in this kit! I would re-purchase the entire kit because in total I get 21 uses of this callus remover for just over 20 dollar's! Not to mention all of the other pedicure stuff I get, so really, this was dirt cheap for me!!

It say's on the box it normally retail's for $35 CAD, but I would not hesitate to pay that price for it....

HATE THIS THING! Do not use or you will not be able to walk normally for a couple months. Granted, I didn't shave much because I stopped while I was ahead but the little bit that I did shave, left my feet aching when I walked.

So I purchased this product innocently enough because the people at the salons use something similar to this. They make it seem almost effortless to use.

Well, this Tweezerman thingy includes a blade that fell out as soon as I opened the package. I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to insert the blade correctly and also how to use the darn thing correctly. It seemed like every angle I tried shaved very little or nothing at all. And when it did shave the skin, it shaved too much.

It may be due to the fact that I don't have much dead skin on my foot. I may just stick with my PedEgg. It doesn't hurt me.

I LOVE my callus shaver. It takes off so much dead skin on my heels. I like having one at home because I find the ladies at the spa don't take enough off. You do have to be careful about not taking too much off(did it before and it was uncomfortable to walk for the next couple of days) but once you do it a few times you'll get the hang of it.

This tool is not even comparable to a regular foot file or pumice stone if you have thick dead skin on your heels. A few swipes of this finished off with some filing to even things out will make your heels look and feel great.

I wound up getting this Tweezerman Callus Shaver as a free bonus when I was buying refill blades for my Trim Callus Shaver at Sally Beauty. I used to think that it didn't matter which callus shaver you bought, only the blades made a difference (Tweezerman blades are the best quality), but now I think I like this Tweezerman callus shaver better. It takes off thinner strips of skin than the Trim Callus Shaver. That's an improvement, because it's important not to take off too much skin. The difference in cost is only about $2. I would recommend this callus shaver over the Trim brand.

Callus shavers are great for removing the buildup of rough, dead skin (calluses) on your feet. They are a little scary because you are literally using a blade to cut off excess skin. Just be sure to soak your feet for 20 minutes in warm water prior to using. The calloused areas will turn white. Only shave the calloused areas, and never, ever use a callus shaver without soaking your feet thoroughly in warm water beforehand. You will take off too much skin and likely cut yourself.
