I've been looking for a cheap nude lipstick for the rare occasions that I wear heavy eye makeup and Peony was a clear winner! It's a shade darker than my NC40 skin, which keeps my lips from looking like I simply applied foundation over it. I love that the pink undertones and the subtle purple shimmer add some life and make the color look healthy. It's a tad more slick and moisturizing than other Nyx Round lipsticks I've tried and the staying power isn't so great, but I'm not really complaining considering the price and color. It's pretty much the perfect nude lippie for me!

This is a very pretty pinkish brown color in the tube but it does not have much color once applied to the lips. It's probably because this is very close to my natural lip color. Almost MLBB if it were a tad lighter and more pigmented. Very subtle, can be used for an everyday look. However, probably will not purchase again though the price is very good.

Of all the NYX Round Lipsticks I ordered this is close to the bottom of the list. This is only because I prefer a lip color with more...COLOR!
If MAC Spice lip liner were a lipstick, this would be it.
In my opinion this exactly the color of Spice liner with a tiny bit of pinkish shimmer. The shimmer does not show up once applied to your lips but it looks pretty in the tube.
Not a bad color at all, just not my thing. If you like a nude lip you will probably really like this color.

This lip color just looked ok on me. It's a pinkish-nude light brown shade and looked so pretty on the nonpareilboutique website that I just had to try it. It's not a bad color; it just doesn't do anything special for me. I think it would work better for fair complexions or those who like nude lipstick shades--neither of which describe me. On me, Peony just looked like the shade of my lips. It looks a little better with some lip gloss on top, however. I added E.L.F. lip gloss in Goddess and it added some oomph to it.

Surprisingly, although the color in the tube look like another tan colored but this turns out as a nudish-pinky-light brown color on my pigmented lips (I'm nc40 asian btw) - maybe it's the purple speckles they add that turns the color into pink.
Since I was looking for a nude lip color that doesn't make me look like I've drink up a bottle of foundation, this color is just perfect, nude color that doesn't make me look pale.
Plus the formulation is creamy and doesn't dry my lips. I've taken one lippie because the staying power is badddd....but since it's hard for me to find the right 'nude color', definitely will buy again when this product runs out.
UPDATE : sadly, I have to take out 4 lippies because apparently this lipstick contains ingredients of I don't know what that causes me to have mild allergic reaction to my lips. It's itchy and sting my lips. will not buy nyx round lippie again :(
EDIT AGAIN : I was trying again the lipstick and no allergic reaction this time! been using this for more than a month almost on a daily use (I love the color so muchhh...), so I'm upping the lippies into 5

On me, this is a dark brownish and very matte red. Similar to those colors that were "hot" in the mid ninethies. It looks better if you layer a clear gloss over it, b/c it is very flat and dull. The gloss did transfer the color into a much better color with some dimention to it. I will not repurchase, as im not a fan of layering lipsticks with gloss to make them work as an easy everyday color.

Peony was an impulse purchase. Pink does not do this justice... it's soft and glows, sort of a baby doll's natural lip tone pink. Only with a slight soft focus shimmer. It's pretty fantastic and will be a beauty staple for me along with Milan and Goddess. If you look at the bottom of the tube in light, you can see a light purple flash color in the undertone. It's very soft, but an extreme flash like in fusion's color. It doesn't really show on lips, but it's pretty and gives this color something extra.

I rather like this lipstick. I bought a number of NYX lippies during a Cherry Culture haul, and this was one of them. Some of them are on the dry, matte side, others are frosty, and others, like this one, are creamier and more moisturizing. In the tube, this looks sort of like a medium pink tinged a little with tan/coral, with small shimmers. On my lips, the shimmer is only slight (which I like), and it looks quite surprisingly neutral. The slight warm tones in this lipstick tones down the coolness of the pink, making it very wearable on me (Asian NC25-30). however, the look is definitely in the pink family (as in, I wear a pink toned blush with this) It's the kind of lipcolor you wear when you want a pretty color on your lips, but don't necessarily want people to notice your lipstick, if that makes sense. This is great as an everyday, neutral, go-with anything color. Very flattering and yet still "natural" looking, I think because it is so neutral.
I should also mention the staying power. This is a creamier formulation, not matte, yet the staying power is still quite decent. Yes, you have to do regular touch-ups, but I find that I don't have to do so as frequently. I've found that most NYX lip products I've tried are quite decent in the staying power category.
Yes, I'd buy it again.

I recently bought a ton of NYX round lipsticks off of cherryculture.com, because I had heard such great things about them, and they are only 99 cents a pop!
I bought about 16 colors (so many choices...), including several highly recommended by MUA (Rea, Circe, Indian Pink, etc.). Although I know from reviews that the cherryculture swatches are really off, I decided to try Peony because it looked so pretty and neutral. I AM HOOKED!
This was my favorite color out of the group (although I liked almost all of them), because it is just so wearable and pretty. I usually go for more nude/peachy colors, and this looks like a deep peachy rose in the tube, but it has a plum/violet reflect that deepens this to a berry color on my lips. It is still nudish (if that makes sense), but it gives my pigmented lips a berry stained look that is just gorgeous. Would be great with a lightly smokey eye, or just for everyday. Would even work for a night out on the town!
The formula is creamy and smooth, and lasts a good while (though not as long as MAC's matte formula...that's the trade-off for a moist lipstick I guess)
The packaging is basic but cute, and there;s a light fragrance but it goes away quickly. The pigmentation is also great. Overall, a total steal for 99 cents...may be a new HG!
EDIT: knocked off a lippie because it leaves a white ring on me...still a beautiful color and a real steal pricewise
