I'm not sure how confident I am on this product yet for $74.00. I've been using this for about two weeks. I decided to buy it because I had read reviews here and I had been "eyeing" it for some time at Shopper's. I thought I would buy a "facial" in a bottle. When I apply it I don't use any cotton pads at all - I just use my fingers. This way no product is getting "wasted" in a cotton ball. My face is already cleansed so it's not like I'm using it to get rid of makeup. I do find that it feels better if I leave it on for about 15 minutes versus 2-3. So I'll put it on and go do something else. My skin looks good but I still feel dry. But right now I'm wondering if that's because of my moisturizer and not this product.
Edit: Update Nov.24/2012 - will use this up sparingly but will not repurchase. Would rather spend the money on a silk peel or facial and let the experts do their thing!

I generally really enjoy products from the Neostrata line; however, this product never fails to break me out every time I use it. I have tried using it only once a week, as well as several times per week. I've tried leaving it on for 5 min as well as up to 15 min. To no avail, this product causes a breakout every time. Too bad, especially considering the price. I prefer the Resurfacing Duo.

The solution is very runny so you would need a cotton pad to apply the product. However, I find that this way, the tiny little beads that are mixed in the solution (which I find helpful in massaging the product onto the skin) do not transfer well onto the skin.
The product comes in a glass bottle, which I like. However, the packaging does not travel well; a lot of the product leaked from the screw cap if the bottle is not kept upright.
This peel is helpful in loosening the dead skin; however, I didn't find the directions for use work for me. For my skin, I found that the product needed >30 min to work into the skin to loosen the layer. After rinsing the product with water, I always needed to mechanically scrub my face with warm water. Otherwise, I would have patches of loosened skin that would look scaly. I used this product 2~3 times a week. Although this product did not break out my skin and my face felt soft after the "peel", I found this regimen quite time consuming and needing a lot of mechanial srubbing, which I no longer want to do.
I liked this product enough to purchase it twice and used it for >1 year. Currently however, I have about ~20 usages left on the last bottle and I have stopped using it altogether. I may have found a better glycolic acid peel alternative by Derma E, which I will post a review after using it for a while.

Up until last week, I've pretty much had perfect skin. Never had a breakout as a teenager, no pimples, even skin tone. And then, at the age of 23, my skin decided to go through puberty. I woke up last week to incredibly uneven skin tone, blackheads all over my nose and tiny pimples all over my forehead. Ugh.
I didn't have time to go downtown to Sephora so I stopped at my local Shoppers and the women in the cosmetics department instantly recommended this to me because my skin is sensitive. I've used this five times now, and my skin is almost entirely back to normal (I could see an improvement after just one application!), and my cheeks look better than they did before the breakout - glowing and poreless.
Packaging is a little funny (tall glass bottle and eyedropper) but I'm not too worried about tipping it, plus I know I can actually access all of the product. This is a little on the pricy side, but I've paid more for face creams and this is making a way more noticable improvement in my skin than any of the creams ever have.
I will probably keep buying this until I die, or Neostrata stops making it. I love it. It's gentle enough for every day application on sensitive skin, but does some serious work on problem areas. Definitely recommend.

I am on the fence about this product. It does make my skin smooth but I do not experience dramatic results or any purging. I will use more and update in a few weeks.

I will start off by saying that I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but for this amazing product, I had to!
My skin: acne-prone, bumpy, scarred from picking at blemishes, sun spots and generally uneven.
I had been piling on the foundation as a means to cover up everything, which led to more blemishes and the cycle would continue. I've been using this product for 1 week, and I am now barely wearing foundation and the foundation that I do wear glides on smoothly, it doesn't look like a bumpy mess anymore. After the first application my skin felt smoother and after a few times I noticed my skin was more even, the sun spots have gradually been disappearing, it just keeps getting better and better each time I use it. My skin is tough so I've been using it daily, I will minimize it to 2 times per week, once I get the full results. I had my mom try this (she is 60 years old) and by the second application a cluster of sun spots on one of her cheek bones that she had for years had disappeared! We’ve both been raving about this product and we will continue to use it. It’s expensive, but going to a dermatologist for facial peels is far worse! And the beauty of this is you do it in the comfort of your own home, no appointment necessary! :)
Tip: the instructions say to put the solution on the cotton pads provided, well to me that is just a waste of product as the cotton absorbs most of it. I wash my hands well and put the solution directly on my face, massage for 30 seconds, leave it on as instructed for 20 minutes and rinse.

I really love this product and can't say enough about the great effects it has had on my skin. The dreadful packaging is another issue altogether. The tall, slim glass bottle is so very easy to knock over. It's so expensive that I'm a nervous wreck every time I have to open it for fear of knocking it into the sink or on the floor. The dropper is such a disaster that I won't raise my blood pressure by going into it. Save yourself the trouble of spending the better part of 10 minutes soaking a cotton pad and use the dropper to apply the product directly to your face and massage it in with your hands.GREAT product! HORRIFIC packaging.

This does provide a nice scrub and result, however, I despise the packaging and delivery system.
It's a tall skinny bottle and the contents are very watery. You have to shake the bottle and use a dropper (like a long eye dropper) to put it on a cotton pad.
1. easy to spill because the bottle is so unstable, tall and skinny
2. the cotton pad use is not very good
3. the product dries up very quickly
I prefer a cream exfoliator.

This stuff is great, I absolutely love it but not the price. So I wait until Shoppers has a sale on their Neostrata line to get it. I use this maybe 2 times a week because my skin is a bit sensitive. I leave it on for 20 minutes then rinse is off with water before applying the Neostrata Toning Solutiong Level 1. This really helps even out my skin tone and clear any blemishes I have at the time.
I am half way done my first bottle and will continue to purchase this.

I have only used this about 4 times so far so I will update later, but...
The first few times I used it, I didn't notice anything happening. But after this last time (2 days ago) I just noticed that I now have, not one, but TWO large cystic-type pimples growing on my chin! :o( I guess my skin is starting to purge (?). I was afraid this might happen, as I always seem to have little bumps under the skin on my chin. I will continue to use and report back after a few more weeks.

I bought this peel to get rid of my raised acne scar on my chin. Glycolic acid is my last resort to treating this scar. I've tried OTC silicone scar gels, oils, silicone sheets. I haven't used them for a super long time to really let it work but I haven't seen any results anyway. It is a very small scar but it bothers me, I feel like it's getting bigger too? I think it is a hypertrophic scar but if it's getting bigger than it can be a keloid scar which I hope not. I'm prone to cystic acne and only break out on my chin and in Dec. '10 was my last big cystic breakout. I kept breaking out on the same spots and in conjunction with winter weather, my cysts were going crazy and after everything healed, I was left with a scar which I have never ever gotten left with a raised scar before. If I did, it was the tiny-iest thing and eventually went away. Not this time, it's been 4 months since the break out and still there. So I discovered Neostrata. Tried it for the first time and did see results the first use as the directions said I would. I only applied it on some acne post marks, a few breakouts on my nose and on the scar. It stinged a bit but my skin was left very much smoother. I also noticed when I rinsed the peel off, I felt the grit of the dead skin as I rinsed. I haven't read anyone else who experienced that, not a big deal but just saying. I've used the peel twice now but I feel it's swelling the scar now as it looks puffier or larger? I'm still going to continue this peel on my scar and other problem areas. My skin and chin have been under control. No huge breakouts but since using this peel, I haven't used any of my prescribed benzoyl peroxide. The peel is working better. My main goal is to continue to use this to diminish the scar. I haven't read any reviews on anyone trying this on a RAISED acne scar so I will update again if I see results. Good luck to me! but overall product is great!

This is a glycolic acid peel. I use it together with the Resurfacing Duo (Canada) since it was packaged as a free gift ( I use the Duo after each time I use the peel ). My doc recommended me to always moisturize the skin really well several weeks before starting a peel because I have very dry eczema skin. My skin is often flaky, so exfoliation is important for me. First time I use this peel, I didn't see much difference other than my skin getting drier. Third time was my lucky charm (maybe also coz I left the product twice longer on my face!). The result was nothing less than amazing, the same type of result I would get at an expensive face spa. The skin felt smoother, refreshed, newer, younger. Best of all, every product I put on my face absorbs and sits better. I normally avoid the sun and chemical products for at least a couple of days after the peel, and I find that organic virgin coconut oil works wonders during that period. It absorbs like a dream, heals, purges, protects, moisturizes.....can't give enough stars. The peel comes with free cotton pads, one side rougher than the other, and they are really really thin so they soak in the mixture well and you can get an even amount all over your face. As time goes by, I don't need to use the peel as much, perhaps once every 3 or 4 weeks. So one bottle lasts a long time and is worth every penny!

I just bought this product two days ago at Shoppers. I was feeling desperate, my skin was a mess. I had a chemical peel at a med spa 3 years ago and loved the results but just didn't have the money to think about booking more treatments. I have very dry, sensitive skin. I have lots of flaking and patchy Eczema and recently a lot of little cyst type bumps. Hormones? Peri Menopause? Not sure what is going on. I broke down and bought the $74 plus tx. bottle of product and have used it twice now. I am feeling an immediate change in my skin. It is warm to the touch but softer already, it feels just like it did after my chemical peel. I suffered a few days of redness and peeling after that treatment but my skin was great for a long time after. I am very pleased so far. I have read reviews here that state they don't like the glass bottle and think it should be plastic. I may be missing something here...but there is acid in this stuff is there not? I am pretty sure that a glass bottle is a the best option or the solution would eat through the plastic. Just a thought.

I have been using this product for about 1 month. Funny thing, I did not expect to see a difference in one night but the first night I tried it- I had a big zit on my chin. The next morning, it was almost reduced to nothing but a red dot. That however was my only amazing story for this product. Otherwise I have noticed a small fading of my hyper pigmentation- probably by 20 percent. I can't give a full review yet as I'm using it only 2- 3 times a week. I let it sit on my face for 15 mins. It doesn't burn- I noticed the slightly tingling sensation. I also started using retin a- neostrata definitely helps with the flaky skin. I'm not sure if it is the retin a or this peel that has finally stopped my hormonal acne. I'm just left with the scars now. Will update, but definitely enjoy using this product. I don't mind the glass jar- probably is there so that the ingredients in this product stays active or something.

This is a truly amazing treatment product. Professional results without the price! I do agree that if you have acne prone skin, you may see some tiny whiteheads develop. This is your skin purging impurities and bacteria from your skin, but after approximately 2 weeks of use this will cease to happen. I absolutely adore the product and recommend it to all my girlfriends for glowing, smooth skin

I had to return this product, it caused a lot of redness and inflammation. I was hoping it would fade my acne scars and it only brought up more acne. I was too sensitive to use this product even when using it minimally . My skin did not react very well. Use cautiously especially if you've ever had issues with acne; patch test first so you don't find out after you've used it on your entire face, that either your face is too sensitive or this product is too harsh. Unfortunately Neostrata advertise most their products as being good for most skin types including sensitive but it just didn't work for me.

Love, love, love this! Mild tingling sensation and my skin turns slightly pink after I rinse off but nothing to worry about since I do this at night. 1 or 2 times a week and it's good! Really smooths out the skin and brings radiance. Would recommend.

I started using this product on Sunday last week and honestly I saw no improvement whatsoever on my 1st, 2nd and even 3rd application actually my skin started to look dull, today Friday after about 8-10 uses I do indeed see a difference. My skin is smooth especially my forehead damn, my complexion looks really bright and oh I just cant keep my hands off my face because it is so soft. I have not seen any improvement in blemishes or fine lines but I will edit to update but for sure its a keeper and if it does not work the first time do not despair STAY THE COURSE. I just want to add that I am Black and I was too scared to try the chemical peels, this is so gentle for me (I have very senstive skin). Will definately buy again.

I've used this three times in the last four days, and honestly have not noticed too much of a change. I have had some little zits popping up here and there but otherwise no change. That being said, I am using the 10% aha night cream by neostrata already, so perhaps I am already as exfoliated as I'm gonna get. I will keep using it and up date in a month or so.
