This has great staying power (doesn't smudge or flake) and is easy to apply, although if like me you have long eyelashes it's easy to catch them with the product by accident - just as easily wiped off with a tissue though. I like the colour - as the name suggests, it's got a bit of a pearl effect to it (a hint of shimmer) but it's not overly shimmery. I like the packaging, it's simple and the applicator part of the product is just right - makes it much easier to work with and get the effect you're looking for.
Overall, I'd likely buy it again.

I really didn't like this. It was a charcoal color that look super weird. I wanted black but boy, did I get the wrong color! Also, it got stuck on my eyelashes, so when I put on my mascara, it flaked all over my face. I was not happy...especially since when I tried to get the flakes off...quite a few smeared and that just sucks. I love (with an intense passion) the maybelline stiletto eyeliners, but sadly, I became allergic to it just like every other eye make up that isn't almay of marykay :( sad day. One thing I did like about this though is that it's fairly easy to put on, which is kind of a big deal...especially to liquid eyeliner noobs.

I loved this eyeliner!! It was my first liquid liner and I haven't found the need to ever buy a different one! The color is as black as black gets, and it very easy to apply. The brush isnt to thin and flimsy, but the perfect size in my opinion. Also, it wasn't too expensive. I was looking for a blacker than black, cheap liquid liner and I found my match :) It'll stay on all day unless you rub it off or add water to it. Of course it isn't waterline friendly but that's what gel and pencil liners are for. I love it <3

Well apparently "Intense Black Pearl" means "Dull Grayish" color. Blaaaa. Not impressed with the color of the product. When I first opened the container the product seemed dry (like I have used it for a couple of weeks). I like a crisp clean line and I found this applicator didn't deliver on that either...Too thick.
Bought a cheap liquid eyeliner; half the price and it is amazing. Goes to show that high price and big names don't always mean better.

If you're looking for an intense black, this liner will disappoint.
It's great for daily not too dramatic liner though.
I'd say this is probably my go-to liner..it's not perfect but it never fails me.
This also has by far the best applicator I've tried- for winged eyeliner and just that perfect line. It has a felt tip which just works wonders. Still have to have the knack for applying liquid eyeliner- but with a light hand and some practice anyone can master it..and the felt tip makes it so much easier.
I bought loreal's telescopic liner for a more dramatic black and ended up using the almay applicator with the telescopic liner. (thats how much I love this applicator!)
One downside for the applicator: after a long long time of use, it can get a little frayed and tip seems to dull.

I absolutely love love love this eyeliner! I've always preferred liquid over every other type, and therefore have tried a ton of brands looking for the perfect eyeliner, but this one beats all. First of all, it doesn't have the problem of flaking/clumping on my eyelid while applying/drying or after a few hours like some other liquid eyeliners do. Also, the brush makes it very easy to draw any shape I want; the felt tip is not too flimsy or too stiff. Lastly, I find the shimmer to be a very nice touch. It makes the black a little less harsh and adds a nice bit of sparkle without having to apply anything else. The best thing about this eyeliner is that it rarely ever smears! I was very satisfied with this eyeliner after I found that out, especially since every other eyeliner I've tried has always smeared without fail. And even when this eyeliner does smear, the smear is mostly just glittery, and a little extra sparkle is always fine by me!

I bought this because i love the original almay eyeliner. This one is recommended for hazel eyes but i didn't want another plum eyeliner ( i tried the sephora one which was a disappointment) for dark brown eyes. For me, the staying power is so-so because if i happen to brush over it with my finger, (not sure if the itch is from old eyeshadow or this formula -.-) a black dust comes off, none of the other liquids i've used has done this. Also, its not as intense of a black compared to the original almay (not color match) which is good for people who want a more natural look, i prefer a solid black though so i voted it down. Application is fine, like any other liner, sparkles don't bother me but again, solid black is my preference. Prob wouldn't buy this again.

Overall this product is pretty good -- goes on easily, good pigmentation and the brush is good. However, there one thing about that really bugs me. I don't know if this is the 'shimmer' everyone it talking about, but I feel like this eyeliner isn't matte, it's almost got a bit of a shiny finish. When I look in the mirrror the light is reflection off it closer to the middle of my eye and I'm like, 'oh did I miss a spot?' No. Look closely and, 'oh no, it's there..' So I end up going over it when a soft pencil liner to give it a matte finish. Hence, the 3/5 for that weird shiny-ness.

I find this liquid eyeliner to smudge and wear easily, even just by washing it with water, it comes straight off. It does however glide on nicely and the size of the brush makes it easier to control, especially if you don't have steady hands, like myself. I've never noticed the shimmeriness everyone is talking about but the colour is not to intense. I wasn't completely happy with this product & i won't be buying it again

I got this on a whim since I'm tired of my pencil eyeliner always smudging by the end of the day. Nothing beats good old liquid eyeliner when it comes to staying power. I only needed something dark for tightlining and this does the job. The black isn't too dramatic on my pale complexion but a word of warning, it does rub off a little by the end of the day but it's not racoon eyes -- just bits of sparkles. Which I don't mind at all but I know some people might not like it.

I first tried this when I borrowed it from my mom, and then decided to buy my own :D
I actually like that it's not a matte black -- the shimmer is really pretty and less obvious than just plain black.
I love the applicator brush because it's so easy to control; this is mostly why I wanted to buy this. Usually I have trouble with liquid eyeliner because the brushes are too flimsy and end up going wherever they want (OK, so I don't have the steadiest of hands). But this one is stiff enough to allow control.
I did experience a little bit of itching on my eyelids, and after a while, it does flake or smudge a bit, but for its decent price and ease of application, it's all worth it to me :)

For Almay, "Black Pearl" translates to black with silver sparkles, apparently. It's not super intense and glittery; rather, the sparkles mostly work to dull the black. For me, this is ok -- I don't usually wear a lot of dark, dramatic eyeliners, so this colour lets me wear liquid eyeliner without feeling too obvious about it. The applicator brush is a little bit stiff, which I also liked, since it made it a little easier for me to apply it. Like I said, I don't use a ton of liquid eyeliners, so this applicator felt akin to a pencil for me. It gives a clean line that has some good lasting power (given you don't get it wet or rub at it). Not the most amazing eyeliner ever, I'm sure, but for drugstore-cheap Almay, it gets the job done.

it stung my eyes when i applied it to my upper lids
it smudges very easily
the color fades
i hate the color. i bought it thinking it would be a nice intense black color, but it looks more slate and shimmery. the shimmer/glitter transfered all around my eye.
the felt tip applicator is alright. i won't be buying this again.

This is an all right product. This was one of the first liquid liners I ever bought. I like the applicator. I find that with other liquid liners I tried, the tip was too narrow and it was easy to make mistakes considering I don't have very steady hands. This one is tapered, which makes for a smooth application, and it's easier to go from narrow lines to wider ones.
However, if you're looking for a rich, deep black colour, this is not it. It's more greyish than black, due to all the shimmers. It also usually fades after a few hours. I will try something else after I'm done with this one because I prefer more intense colours.

I hate this liner. It's horrible quality in my mind. I applied this eyeliner and in the middle of my day it turned gray. It was horrible.
Not only that, when I apply, I have to wait for the first stroke I make to dry before I can stroke again because when I go over what I just made, the brush picks up product. It's so irratating.
I will never buy this again.

I only wear this when I'm going all out and piling on the eye makeup. Even with mascara it's way too harsh for my pale skin and blonde eyes during the day.
I don't mind the shimmer at all, the brush is easy to use on my upper lids, though a little clumsy on my lower.
It tends to smudge a little, but not as bad as other liquids I've tried.

I needed something to tightline my eyes and since I can't always do that with my gel eyeliner, I decided to get this. It's not a bad product (I used Rimmel Kohl eyeliner - what a huge mega big mess), but not something that impress me either. Many people do not like the shimmer in it, but if like me, you want to tightline your eyes with it, the shimmer won't be too appealing.
As for lasting power, I wore it for 8 hours and it did smudge a little bit. While it was completely washed out from my upper waterline, it was still on my bottom waterline.
Oh and I like the fact that it has a mini sharpener (you might have missed it; it is the black 'cap' at the top of the liner. Just pop it out) which is great!
I won't purchase this item again (but will probably keep the mini sharpener when I run out of the liner hehe) because I know Almays has better eyeliners so I'll try that instead. Beside, I got this eyeliner for 12$ (maybe I was not lucky too) so I think it's a bit pricey for a drugstore liner, and for the result I got from it.
