WARNING. This product will leave white streaks on your red lips! Don't expect others to ignore your look. You will get many weird stares and questions if you go out on the street.

After reading some 3.0-4.0 reviews on MUA, I tried their suggestion and used lipstick on top of this lip balm. well, the white streaks were dyed red, looking much less hideous than before, but still the lip balm is still visible in the form of red balm/flakes as if you applied 3X the normal amount of lipstick.

OKay, this is 1 of the 3 products that destroyed my confidence in NIVEA... I am still fond of many other NIVEA lip balms and a few of their body wash products but I will think twice * twice before I purchase anything new from this brand.

"OMIGOD, what kind of stupid lip balm is this?" That's exactly what I thought upon application. I thought it was going to be clear but it was so white and opaque! I threw it out immediately. Where am I ever going to wear this?
I would never repurchase this. Never.

If your looking for a moisture lip balm, dont buy this. But as a sunscreen its actually good. My only problem is this stuff looks matte on lips and since its yellow, my lips look 'pale' and gross. so dont over apply. But overall, I dont regret this. Smells like vanilla. Its okay as a lip product. Would I repurchase? Not really.

worst lip balm I've ever tried. i bought this since i wanted a lip balm with SPF but this left me looking like i had no blood on my lips, the color was just pale while. it does not moisturize at all, my lips were dry like i wasn't wearing any lip balm. threw it away in the trash after one use. will not repurchase

I needed lip protection for when I'm swimming and this is the best lip sunscreen I've tried. It does make my lips whitish but that doesn't bother me as long as it's waterproof. I also sometimes wear it under lipstick. It doesn't change the color of my lipstick at all and actually makes my lipstick glide on more smoothly. I think it's a nice product for the price, will definitely repurchase!

i had read about this balm (spf 30) being prized in places other than the US (where it had been, until relatively recently, unavailable) and i had wistfully thought to myself i'd buy it the moment i ever saw it in stores--and i did exactly that. i live in hawaii and i've tried a good number of higher spf lip balms. this one is among the best in terms of texture, smell, taste, spf level. most lipbalms w/spfs higher than 15 that i've tried feel like crayon being scraped on the lips. nivea spf 30, in contrast, is very comfortable and smooths on very easily. i find it completely indispensible for me and my sweetie, especially on active days in or out of the water. i wouldn't wear this if all i needed was something to make my lips soft because it definitely has a tangible white cast. (duh--physical sunscreen!)

If I don't use this product my lips get sunburn. It is a little streaky but I think that depends on how much you apply (I cake it on) but it's nothing extreme. You're wearing suncream on your lips so what do you expect. It smells nice (vaguely of cocoa butter) and protects your lips wonderfully. I thnk Nivea have improved this product over time. It doesn't melt in extreme heat (Vaseline I'm looking at you) and protects your lips. It does what it's supposed to.
EDIT: I've severely reduced my score after I found a great spf lip treatment: Simple - Sun Sensitive Protecting Lip Balm.

This product is absolutely DISGUSTING. I am so disappointed in Nivea for producing this as I have always been a fan of their lip products. First off this leaves your lips with an awful pale-purple cast that makes you look ill. Secondly it is not moisturizing whatsoever and thirdly it tastes funny. I only wish I went on makeupalley and checked this out before purchasing it....

Left my lips with a lilac coloured cast on them, tasted nasty, and didn't moisturise my lips. Ughhh...not a good product. I think the packaging is ugly too.

This is for the SPF 30 version.

I bought this because it has a small amount of titanium dioxide for UVA protection, which seems to be lacking in almost everyother lipbalm at the drugstore. It was very cheap (under $3 CDN), and is overall a decent product, but the whitecast it left was a bit more than I'm comfortable with. Otherwise, standard wax-base, standard pleasant smell.

If you're looking for a lip product with a physical sunscreen, I'd recommend it. I think I prefer chemical though.

I LOVE this. I'm buying a lot of lip balms with SPF because if I don't, then I start breaking out with cold sores.

I saw this in one of the drug stores and since I like things that look nice and new, I decided to try it.

It's very moisturizing and leaves a very nice natural sheen to your lips.

Will definitely repurchase to stock up in all my other bags so I will never be without any lip balm!

While this has a SPF factor in it and does moisturize well, I don't like the ghostly cast this leaves on my lips. It washes me out and I have to put another lipgloss on top to get good color. Not something I would get again.

Love this product. No weird white cast at all, very moisturizing, feels a little waxy but I feel like that's the physical sunblock doing its thing. A staple for the summer!

This has that bad tendency to enhance the flakes on your lips, it also smells bad after awhile. It doesn't leave that white cast on your lips, but more of a strange pink one. It also barely moisturizes your lips, and like the other reviewer, I found it did collect at the corners of my mouth, so overall I do not recommend this.

my sun lip care is actually SPF 30 (I THINK, i dont know if it's the same thing, correct me if i'm wrong). i liked it alot when i first used it, i like how my lips are protected from the sun but it was a little thicker compared to the other nivea lip care products. other than that, i didn't like it at all . it left me with a slight white case over my lips (but this did not bother me much because i like paler lips anyway). what i really dont like about this is that its not very moisturising and made my lips peel, and the product gets caught in the dry flakes and enchances it (like how some foundations do on dry skin), not a very pleasant sight. it also collects at the corner of my mouth (i really hate that in a lip balm and is important to me that a lip balm does not do that, it just makes you look like you're drooling and really dirty). i wont be buying this again, i still have it in my drawer, hardly ever used.

Excellent cheap basic lip sunscreen. Silky-smooth, no white cast, and tastes lovely - like the smell of the Nivea blue pot cream, slightly vanilla. Contains lots of waxes, a little shea butter, and jojoba oil. Photostable part-physical, pat-chemical sunscreen.

The physical part: titanium dioxide.

The chemical:
--- ethylhexyl triazone - aka Uvinul T 150 (EU approved);
--- butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane - aka Avobenzone (FDA + EU approved);
--- diethylhexyl butamido triazone - aka UVAsorb HEB (EU approved).

This is the ONLY not-purely-mineral lip sunscreen I've used without reaction (great excitement! much leaping with joy!!); admittedly over another, very moisturising, lipbalm.

I used this for years in my childhood, abandoned it for others, and have now returned (my Lavera Ti02 lip sunscreen recently hardened, went off, and died). The Sun's apparently been reformulated, and I think feels softer on the lips and leaves less of a white cast than its previous incarnation. Much more moisturising than the other lip sunscreens I'd been using (the Lavera and E45).

Used alone, it's smooth without being gloopy, sticky, or overly liquid or oily. I apply a moisturising balm first thing in the morning (Weleda Everon), then this plus lip colour on top before leaving home; and I carry another Sun plus lipstick for top-ups during the day. A good solution if your favourite lippie has no SPF - and saving you the switch to a compromise SPF lippie that just isn't quite up to your favourite one.

Comes in a 4.8 g. tube. Labello make a very similar one (same parent company, Beiersdorf), worth trying if you can't get hold of this. Not tested on animals (like all Nivea and other Beiersdorf group). Costs about EUR 2.50 - 3.50.

INGREDIENTS: cera microcristallina, hydrogenated polydecene, cetyl palmitate, ricinus communis, butylene glycol dicaprylate/dicaprate, ethylhexyl triazone, myristyl myristate, octyldodecanol, synthetic wax, titanium dioxide, cetaryl alcohol, bis-diglyceryl polyacyladipate-2, c20-40 alkyl stearate, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, cera carnauba, butyrospermum parkii, simmondsia chinensis, tocopheryl acetate, diethylhexyl butamido triazone, cera alba, polyglyceryl-2 dipolyhydroxystearate, trimethoxycaprylylsilane, limonene, linalool, benzyl benzoate, citral, parfum, ci 19140.
