this lip gloss matched my lip colour perfectly. it was the exact shade and complimneted my light skin well (NC20). what i didn't like was that it's really sticky and very very glittery. What i loved about this product was the colour, it made my lips look fuller, very glossy and glittery and i really like the smell of all mac lustreglasses. this gloss helps hide chaps lips because i put on my lip balm and put this on right after. The price of mac products are all high so i wouldn't repurchase but try other products from the collection.

OMG I LOVE THIS LIP GLOSS!!! I'm not big on lip glosses. They're just not my thing. But I was at my local CCO and I happened to see it and it caught my attention right away. So as soon as I put it on I fell in love with it...I should've of gotten two of them because I think it's been discontinued! But yea the shimmer is just right. Is a nice shade of pink. Not too light but not too dark!

I picked this up at a CCO. I love the plummy pink color and the brush works very well. It doesn't wear off quickly and the shimmer is great. I would love to buy this again but I think it may be discontinued :(

This is a beautiful shade of sparkly cool based, medium pink. It's a very sheer, plummy color and deepens any lip color I choose to wear. I love this gloss!

The sparkle at the CCO store caught my eye. I like the brush and texture. I don't know what I can say to add to the comments on the color. It's not a rare shade of pink, but still very pretty.

I just got this, as it was still available on the MAC website. It was kind of a whim that I bought it, but I wear lipgloss more than lipstick, and really like the Lipglasses and Dazzleglasses I have. When it arrived I thought it was a beautiful color, and immediately went to try it on. I was pleased that it had a brush like the dazzleglasses rather than the doe-foot thing the lipglasses have, and when I put it on it was beautiful. Just slightly pinker than my lips adding just a hint of raspberryish color with a bit of sparkle.
I had been thinking I needed to find a lipglass the color of Urban Decay's Carney xxx shine gloss, which is my go-to gloss but doesn't last long and mine is in a pot which is annoying. Hey Sailor is that color! I actually put it on side-by-side with Carney, and the color is the same on me. Hey Sailor has more sparkle and is less frosty in finish, but from a distance there is very little difference. I had a co-worker mention that my teeth look whiter with Carney on, and I suspect Hey Sailor will have the same effect.
I did find this to be just the slightest bit gritty on my lips, but I have glittery glosses that are way, way worse (hello, Wet n' Wild!). It wasn't gritty enough to be bothersome, and seems to stay on a decent amount of time like my other MAC glosses do. I did get a slight tingle to my lips while wearing, but no reaction, and since I'm a fan of Lip Venom and the Big Fatty Lip Plumper a little bit of tingle is nothing to me!
I rarely use up any makeup item, but am considering a backup of this as I suspect this will be the one that gets left in my purse to wear whenever I am running late and forget to put on gloss in the morning. Since I wear lots of pinks and purples on my eyes, this will get lots of use!

Beautiful!! My type of pink ;) It's a very glossy, sheer shimmery pink...similar to flusterose. It's very shimmery and shiny. I love it!

God, how I love thee, Hey Sailor! I love this warm raspberry shade with its high medium-pink colored shine; it brightens up my lips and makes them look so inviting. I find the texture of the lustreglasses to be a LOT smoother than the glasses, which I LOVE. Feels like butter! Too bad it's a limited edition color....pick this one up before it's gone, ladies!

Hey, Sailor was released as part of the spring 2008 Naughty Nauticals collection, and is described by mac as a "Blue plum pink with white pearl flecks". I have to say that their color description is pretty good, although I would say that on my lips the gloss shows up as a more natural raspberry shade. The first time that I wore it, my Boyfriend commented on how much he liked it! I also find that the glitter in this is VERY flattering, and doesn't settle into the lines of your lips much if at all.
Some of the other reviewers mentioned the glitter being gritty, and I suppose it is slightly, but feeling like sand? Really? I really didn't even notice it until I read the reviews, and when I asked my dear BF about it, he said that he certainly didn't notice post-smooches!

About Me: I am NC20, NC25 in summer, black hair, brown eyes, yellow toned skin (Asian).
Collection: This is from the LE Naughty Nauticals collection which launched on May 1st 2008.
Color: MAC says this is a 'blue plum pink with white pearl flecks'. I find this pretty accurate, with a bit of mauvey-berry thrown in. It's very pretty, and can be layered over MAC Party Mate lipstick for a nice pinky berry lip.
Texture: Thick but not as thick as the Lipglasses, its not 'tacky' thick, more like 'I can feel it' thick. Someone has mentioned that lustreglasses make their lips feel tingly--I have also experienced this but have thought nothing of it. I wouldn't worry.
Lasting Power: this lasted quite awhile for me (through a shower, running to a friends house, back and through dinner) so in this field I think it passed with flying colors.
Price: This is the typical MAC price of 14.50$. I swear, if we ever labeled brands by prices, this would be 14.50, the price of eyeshadows, lipsticks, and lipglosses. Not too expensive, not all that cheap.
Packaging: This also comes in the typical MAC gray/black handle with the clear tube and MAC written on the side. Functional, practical, but for Naughty Nauticals I would've liked to see them make the packaging a dark navy blue. That would be cool!
Comments: Overall, I would definetly buy again if by some means I lose it. I can't say that I've seen other MAC shades like this (but I have only been collecting MAC since the Barbie Feb. 2007 collection that I missed out on), but if you look hard enough I suspect there will be a near enough color to it.
Enough of my ramblings: On to the pictures!
From Down: Clinique Beauty, Clinique Bamboo Pink, MAC Party Mate, Clinique Raspberry glace. The three spots to the side are : (From top) Estee Lauder Pure Pop gloss in Berry, MAC Love Rules lipglass (A Mei Collection), and Hey Sailor lustreglass.
MAC Party Mate, Hey Sailor
Party Mate is on the full top lip, Hey sailor on the bottom left half, the bottom right is my natural lip color.

I tried this at the MAC store and liked the raspberry shade. I thought the white pearl shimmer was also very pretty and distinctive enough to have in my collection.
This looks beautiful but very sheer on its own, especially if you have pigmented lips like I do. And I noticed in the store that it looked gorgeous over Party Mate. In fact, the whole reason why I caved and bought this was because the SA encouraged me to try it over PM.
About a half hour after I left the store with my purchase (and with a healthy dose of HS on my lips), I realized that this stuff was downright GRITTY. Ewwww! It was like I had sand on my lips. Maybe other gals like that sensation, but it skeeved me out. It could have been the tester, but I don't think so.
So my new HS lustreglass went promptly up for swap...

This is a lovely sheer, shimmery, plummy color on me. It deepens the lip color and sparkles, and is basically a great staple to have. I bought a back-up.

This one I tried and didn't like at all - the mauvey-raspberry colour was very pretty in the tube, but the white "pearly bits" kinda sat on my lips and looked like obvious chunks of glitter. It may be worth mentioning that my lips are possibly 1 or 2 shades deeper than "Hey Sailor", which is probably the source of the problem, but I've plenty of similar metallicy-pinky "my lips but pale and interesting" glosses that I normally pair with a dark smoky eye, and none of them have this "kiddie that's been eating doughnuts and got some sugar stuck to the lips" effect. Suppose that just proves MAC's description of this having "white pearl flecks" then!

Hey Sailor is a gorgeous color with enough "opaqueness" to show up on my medium pigmented lips. Love, love, love the lustreglass formula! Not as sticky as regular gloss and feels moisturizing, too! A glassy/glazy finish. I have way too many lipglosses that all look the same on--no matter how lovely in the tube they just go on clear with my own lip color showing through. Not so with the lovely lustreglasses. Hey Sailor is a gorgeous color, medium pinky//raspberry on me and I don't have to wear anything under it. I don't see any blue in it. Sometimes I wonder how MAC comes up with their color descriptions. I love that it is not super pale like so many glosses are. For a dynamite combination, wear it over the lovely Party Mate. I bought three, one for a gift and the rest for moi. Respectfully submitted, colormepink
