I loved the apple cider vinegar shampoo so I figured the rest of the Fekkai line would be grand. Poor logic on my part. This left my hair an absolute mess. Very tangled, and with a poor, rough texture. No volume. Wound up using this as a body wash.

I like this shampoo mainly for the smell. I really can't tell if it makes my hair more full; I have fine asian hair, but it's pretty normal, not dry or overly oily. I think it builds the suds really well, and I think it rinses fine, doesn't leave a buildup. The conditioner is awful for me b/c it doesn't seem to coat my hair at all. The shampoo smell I like, but I'm on the fence about repurchasing b/c of the price.

My hair is definately bouncier and fuller after using this shampoo. It's lightly scented and leaves my hair shiny which is always a plus with volumising products. This is also the most expensive shampoo I have ever used, It retails at £18 in the UK. The results are good but the price really puts me off, There are cheaper shampoos which are just as good, I think you are mainly buying into the exclusivity of the brand. EDIT; The bottle actually lasted just over 3 months and that is with washing my hair every day, This makes it better value than I first thought so I will buy it again.

Good product, does make my hair fluffier. I don't mind the smell at all. I think it's priced too high though. One of my favorite shampoos and believe me, I have tried many.

I tried this on a whim when I found it at Ross for 12.99..still more than I usually spend. The first thing I noticed is a very little goes a long way, and I did not have to shampoo twice. Then I went to style my hair with a flat iron...WOW! Super shiny and smooth...I could dispense with my shine spray. I don't think my hair has ever looked better. After 6 weeks, I was in danger of running out, I ordered more because this is absolutely the best shampoo I have ever used. It far exceeds any expectations I ever had or thought possible. I have always bought whatever was on sale thinking shampoos were interchangeable, which has consistently been the case...until this stuff, which is like hair magic in a bottle for me.

[EDIT 10/30/2009: I am not using this shampoo anymore. After using a little more than half of the bottle of both the shampoo and conditioner, I just can't take it anymore! I hate having to get rid of that out of control build up it leaves. No more volume... Also, the smell makes me want to GAG after a while. It smells like dish soap! I will never, ever repurchase this garbage!!] I have only been using this for 5 days and I will update if there are any changes in the way I feel about it and what it does to my hair, but I feel I must interject here nonetheless because this is a great product with mediocre reviews! I have used every drugstrore brand shampoo (Pantene, Garnier, Aussie, etc.) and did not like them. Moved onto salon brands like Matrix, Biolage (by Matrix), Tigi, Paul Mitchell, and Schwartzkopf. I have been using and do like Schwartzkopf, but that's because it was so hard finding something that does not dry out my combo hair, or keep it from frizzing. The Schwartzkopf keeps my hair smooth and hydrated, but limp as heck! Enter Frederick Fekkai. I never tried it before because of the price tag... but took a generous sample home to try one day from Sephora. I was wary: In the past, volume/thickening shampoos have left my hair a complete frizz ball (my hair is very fine). After using this, my hair felt voluminous even while wet. After I blew dry my hair, it was gorgeous and plump! No frizz whatsoever, not dry. Don't use this expecting some bodacious volume. I recommend this for dry, limp hair, as it may weigh down thicker hair that is oily or has product build up. Bottom line: I love this shampoo because it gives my hair a slight plump, makes it look shiny, keeps it soft and hydrated, and smells good. It is citrus, which I usually don't care for *too* much (especially this one, it's very lemon *almost* like dish soap...), but the smell, IMO is mild on clean, dry, hair. [EDIT: For anyone who loved the initial plumping of their hair, but found that with time, their hair was becoming limp and had build up, its because this shampoo contains an ingredient that does leave build up! Use a clarifying shampoo every couple of weeks to prevent it from happening so that you keep that plumpness from the shampoo. :)]

a bit pricey (18 pounds) but his products are if not amazing, who delivers miracles these days anyway, but very good. My fine flyaway hair doesn;t get greasy easily, there is a bit more volume. would buy it again. go cheap with shampoo but this could be a great hair mask/treatment.

figured i'd try this after the FF glossing wasn't seeming to cut it any more. there was no more volume from this than any other shampoo, including glossing. the smell is horrific, it reminds me of lemon dishwasher detergent. i can still smell it through the day after my hair is dry. if nothing else it makes my hair "fuzzy." i did try it in conjunction with the full volume conditioner. do not like either, will return!

I love this shampoo, but it doesn't really give my hair any volume. It might be volumizing for the first thirty minutes after showering, but then it's back to flat and straight. However, my boyfriend used it once and it turned his hair -- puffy!!

This review is going to be a little off. I must say that I LOVE this shampoo and the conditioner. This stuff is HG material for someone like me (color-treated, highlighted, fine hair, but lots of it, with dry ends and oily roots). The smell is divine, a very clean soapy smell. Made my hair so soft and bouncy and beautiful. That being said, there are certain shampoos that give me an itchy scalp (MOP, John Frieda Cool Dip, L'Oreal) and alas, this was one of them. I don't know what the common ingredient is that does this and I did not have this problem with the other FF shampoo's (Technician and Gloss). I tried to use it for a week because I loved it so much that I was hoping my scalp would just "get over" the problem, but it didn't so I had to return it. I marked that I would buy it again though because I totally would if my scalp would just agree to it.

Love, love this yellow stuff. First off, the refreshing scent is unbeatable. Wakes me up in the shower. The effect is amazing too. I really see more volume and thickness after use. I can honestly say this leaves my hair shinier than the Glossing series. But I'm careful not to use every day because of immunity. If you have thin, fine hair, this is a godsend.

This shampoo is ok for my hair.. Just ok.
It does not add any volume but it does not make it oily.
My hair type: long and healthy. Tends to get flat and oily roots after a couple of days. Frizz free normally.

I don't mind the lemony scent at all, mainly because when my hair is dry I don't smell it. This is a good volumizing shampoo and cond. but I just feel for the price it should be fantastic. I will probably buy again, but, there are less expensive products out there that do the same. My problem is that since I've been dying my hair I'm trying to treat my hair as good as I can, and the drugstore products just don't deliver the healthy hair I feel from using HE products. It's sad, but true.

This was a staple of mine for a while. I liked that a nickel sized dollop created a great amount of lather. I also liked that my hair did appear to be fuller. But the scent was a masculine lemony smell that I did not care for. And after a while the price started to irritate me, I bid on bottles from Ebay just to cut the cost down. I have since found two shampoos that actually give the same results but cost less, so I switch them up every few days.

I'm always happy to see when my feelings about mediocre products are echoed by MUAers. Especially when the are represented by name stylists like Mr. Fekkai. Blah on all accounts. Doesn't do a thing for my hair, doesn't smell good, doesn't rinse well, and is ridiculously expensive. It includes all kinds of goofy "natural" ingredients that probably do nothing or impair the others. He's kidding, right? Suave is better!

When i first used it it was summer time so i needed some volume in my hair. It gave me volume but also dried out my hair a little. It has a great smell but i wouldn't buy it again. I felt like my hair was thinning out and i also heard the same from a friend who was using this too.

I love this shampoo (and the conditioner)....as far as a volumizing shampoo, I could really use anything....its the conditioner that is hard to find...and FF volume conditioner is the SHIT!!!! LOVE IT! But the matching shampoo is great too, I love the way it feels....and I LOVE the smell...but if you want to save $$$, maybe go with a cheaper drug store shampoo and splurge on the FF volume shampoo. I gave only 4 lippies cause its sooo $$$ and imo its the conditioner that matters, not the shampoo.

This product ended up being quite a disappointment for me. I failed to see any difference in thickness or volume. It also had a strong scent that smelled like lemon scented cleaning supplies!! Not a product that I would recommend.

I bought Fekkai's Protein Rx starter kit a few weeks ago and I fell in love with it. I have fine hair and was scared that the Protein Rx would begin to weigh my hair down after prolonged use, so I bought the Full Volume starter kit in order to alternate between the two. I was so disappointed with the Full Volume that I've only used it five times since I bought it.
Full Volume didn't seem to thicken my hair at all. In fact, I found that the Protein Rx actually leaves my hair with more body than the FV. FV also makes my hair look incredibly unhealthy. It seems to suck all the moisture right out of my hair, leaving it feeling very coarse.
The smell is the worst part. It's like some sort of citrus-y kitchen cleanser.
I was very disappointed in this product. After using the Protein Rx I had high expectations. Sadly, FV did not even come close to meeting them.
