I got this product as a little extra in a swap and I'm so glad I did. I usually wear it on the top of my lids when I'm wearing a gel eyeliner. It highlights the area so well without being too shimmery. I don't know if I'll repurchase this, as I don't use it every day and thisone is probably going to last me for the next few months or a year and it's nice but nothing outstanding or a must-have-basic but it sure is fun to wear and it has a decent quality and staying power.
So one lippy off for the "nothing special"-matter.

Like so many others on here, my first reaction to this was, "Um, okay, what does it DO?" It is called an eye "wash," and therefore not meant to be as pigmented as we're used to with cream shadows/liners, so I was disappointed with it at first. But now that summer is here, I've tried it again, and I'm finding it to be a really nice, subtle bit of shimmer that looks natural and holds up even on hot, humid days. It also works well as a shadow primer, believe it or not, and if you want to wear it as more of a shadow, I find that putting UDPP on first help the Kitten wash show up better. Another great use for it is as a highlighter. For those of you who are fans of Benfit High Beam, you'll find the Kitten wash does the same job, but with more shimmer and a bronzier tone. I've been putting it on my cheekbones over my foundation, and it looks really gorgeous and natural and glowing. I'm warming to this product, even to the point where I might buy it again. But yeah, I was unimpressed at first. For those of you who hate it and feel stuck with your purchase, do try it as a highlighter if nothing else. You might be pleasantly surprised.

I got this as part of one of Stila's halloween looks sets. I didn't expect to like it as the powder kitten eyeshadow is too shimmery for me. Surprisingly, I actually love this product.
This gives a much softer shimmer. Product goes on liquid, you have to work fast and spread it over your lid as it dries to a point where you can't move it around anymore, but isn't completely dry. So it's a bit sticky until it dries. You do have to wait for it to dry, but not 1 or 2 minutes, just 20-30 seconds. My lids haven't gotten stuck together, but I guess they could if I used alot of the product.
I don't use the applicator to the eye, I get too much product that way. Instead, I dab my finger (middle or ring) to the applicator and apply it my lid with my finger. I follow with an eyeliner and lipgloss and I'm out the door.
It's an easy, bright eyed look I use almost every day. Stila has discountinued it and I've used 1/2 the tube. Luckily, I found it online and bought 3 more.

this sucks. sorry stila, but chanel has you beat on the liquid to dry e/s... i thought this would be what it SAID.. a liquid version of kitten. it doesn't even show up on me! it just looks wet ish and itches my eyes. gross and a waste of time and money. no way am i ever buying another new product without testing it first. i'm putting it up for swap in case someone knows how to make it work, since i cannot.

Noooooooooooooo Stilla!! When I put on your eye "wash" it was more like and eye "goop." I wasnt aware I had to stand with my eye closed for a minute for this to dry so my eyelids stuck together! It was awful. I am glad I got this at an outlet store, and that it was only 6 bucks. The packaging is cute too, but I will be 6 feet under before I put this crap anywhere near my eyelids again! I am sticking to my Kitten powder shadow tyvm!

I love the color and shimmer of this product... but my love for it ends there. It is very sticky, like lip gloss and takes a while to dry. It fades as the day goes on and creases badly with no primer. The applicator makes for messy application if you are wanting to make a line across the top or bottom lashes.. would be better to have an angled wand or a brush.

The Kitten eyeshadow is way better than this silk eye wash. I was so excited when I first got it, but never really use it anymore. I don't like the consistency of it at all and think it is overpriced.

Very wet consistency. Have to put it on, keep your eyes shut and wait for it to dry, or else your eyelid skin will stick together. Once it's on, it's on though. If you can deal with the consistency, you will probably like it.
Try the kitten smudgepot if you want the creaminess, try the kitten powder if you don't. There are better products by Stila if you like this color.

I only tried this out in sephora, on the back of my hand it was a sticky mess that wouldn't blend, and honestly if it wont blend on my hand, it will not blend on your eye. With my hooded eyes I wouldnt be surprised if it stuck my eyes open.

This stuff was awful! I'm glad I got it as part of a set - it is WAY overpriced for the garbage that it is. It does not blend or look smooth at all. It makes the lids sticky, takes forever to dry, and emphasizes creepey-eyelids. The color barely even shows up. The only good thing I can say about this is that the packaging is cute.

I really wanted this to work but neither the formula nor the color did. Even when I applied two strokes of painterly paint on my eyelid and then the wash my eyelid kept getting stuck together! I have never had this happen! Then the color dissappeared. When I swiped this on the back of my hand I thought wow it's like shimmering pink sand it's going to look pretty. Maybe I should just buy the regular powder version instead.

I love this. The texture is fine, and the color is glorious. I wear this during the day with one of the smudge pots as liner, and it takes me about two minutes. It doesn't come off til I take it off, which is also very very nice.

I almost returned this. I find that the powder version is to light for my tan skin. The first time I put it on I was like ummmm. Ok? Not too special. Its going back.its tight and sticky at first but that goes away. Like everyone else I realized that this makes a pretty good eye shadow base even without UDPP underneath. I put it all the way up to the eyebrow.pat it on to blend, do not rub, it waill just wipe the product off and the sticky texture will tug at dellicate skin. I find it doesn't work well under the bottom lash line because it leaves a wierd streaky edge and gives you a sweaty shiny look. Ilove this for a night in with the boyfriend. I pat it on, two coats, after it dries I wear a subtle color in the crease like MARK wing, gioia, or tiki and smudge a little under my lower lash line, a couple coats of sephora lash "plumper" (trial size), lightly fill in my brows with rimmel pencil, cargo blue ray blush on my cheeks and my boyfriend thinks I'm just naturally beautifull...well, I am but that's beside the point. Its a great natural look with staying power, and super quick.

I think it's a good product, it just takes a bit of figuring out to make it work. To apply, I dab a little bit on to the centre of my eyelid and then (while it's still wet) immediately spread it out with a fingertip so that it is evenly distributed. Then I close my eye and wait for it to dry (about a minute or so). On its own, the Silk Eye Shadow Wash is very sheer and offers a subtle golden shimmer to the lids. However, I have discovered that it is a fantastic eyeshadow base for eyeshadows in a similar colour range - I applied the bronze shadow from Stila's Bronze Shadow trio over top and it lasted through a hot summer day!! The shadow barely creased over 8 hours of wear!! Being Asian and having Asian eyes, eyeshadows inevitably end up in the eye fold after a few hours, no matter how good they are. To have a shadow last for several hours without budging makes this product worth the effort it takes to apply.

I actually really like this product, I think even better than the powder version. On me the powder version seems too white, while this shadow wash looks a little more golden and matches my skin tone better. I also like the cooling effect it has. It is kind of hard to spread on my eye, but I stipple it on and it evens out. The doe foot wand isn't that great. The staying power seems at least average if not better. I think the key word in this product is "wash" which indicates to me that it will be thinner and sheerer than other products.

As reviewers below have said, this is lacking in pigment, very thin, and quite disappointing. However, I have found a good use for it: its a great base for Nars AAE. The shimmery side of AAE is lovely, but i never felt like it really showed me that great candle-lit and polished look that i was hoping for. Its such a delicate color/formula that it never looked right over regular eyeshadow bases. Pressing AAE on w/ a fluffy eyeshadow brush over this liquid eyeshadow gives an amazing subtle look that really lights me up when i'm looking tired. I said that i would not repurchase and gave low numbers because even though i have found an awesome use for it, it doesnt at all live up to what anyone probably expected of it, and using a single coat as a base for AAE will probably make this last a good long while, so i doubt i'd need to buy again. If youve already got it, and AAE, give this a try before you return it, otherwise, skip this product.

the packaging is very pretty and i love the concept..but... this shadow has no pigment at all. the formula is much more watery than creamy and is not buildable. i tested the shadow on my hand before i purchased it and it looked gorgeous. unfortunately, when i tried it out on my eyes it just made them sticky and look oily! yuck!

I actually like this product. I can see where the other reviewers are coming from though. It is quite sheer, and I found it to be blotchy at times. But I found it works well with UDPP as a base. Also, I like the convenience of this. I usually end up doing my makeup at work (because I'm always running late in the morning)...and this is very convenient.
Also, it doesn't smudge and it lasts all day (probably because of the UDPP I use it with).
Overall, this works good for me. I would probably re-purchase this again.
