I used this two mornings in a row and for the past three days my skin has been so insanely dry. And itchy. Nothing I've tried really works (clean and clear dual action, coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil), but I'd rather deal with acne than this.

Got prescribed this for my acne a while ago when I was breaking out really bad. It worked wonders and cleared up my skin. I stopped using it and my skin seemed to start getting acne again so I recently got another one. It works great other than the fact it needs replacing after 3 months.

**Edit: I used this for 3 nights in a row but on the 4th day my nose was peeling as well as my cheeks. No change in blackheads. & i think this medicine has caused stomach issues, since it is an antibiotic & your skin abosorbs it.
GOLD. PURE GOLD.
Packaging is a little annoying cause I hate dipping my hands in it nightly but I understand the pharmacy mixes it when you pick it up.
This does not leave my skin red like Retin A did (omg never again). It can be drying if you use it a few days in a row & your skin may "itch" for approx 30 minutes after application.
This clears up my cysts in 1/2 the time. I can't speak for its work on blackheads but I plan to try it on them and edit my review.
The best part? It's $9 with insurance & the jar lasts 3 months (before it suggests replacing). The BEST.

I started to receive hormonal acne about three months ago ( roughly related to over working myself and stress). I tried everything from antibiotics, to various antibacterial creme's but nothing seemed to surpress it. Finally my dr suggested Benzaclin. While yes it did calm all my acne down, it took almsot a full two months of me using it to see the results and for my acne to be almost compeltely gone. So please be patient while using this product as it truly does take over 8 weeks to work! It also does dry out our skin terribly ( would notice dry flaky patches during the day) so be sure to use a good moisturizer along with it ( i suggest YONKA or Eminence- All natural). Also make sure to spread the Benzaclin very well across your skin. I did the mistake of layering too much of it ( thinking more is better on my acne spots) and really broke out even more for the first two weeks after using this product. Just use a PEA size amount for each area of the face ( cheek, chin, forehead).

I suffer from frequent zits, and so I went to the dermatologist about 2 months ago and requested a prescription to Benzaclin.
This product has cleared up my face like no other product has before.
The only problem is that I still have a few dark spots from previous acne and Benzaclin doesn't help with that.
It feels so good to actually have clear skin from active breakouts.
I ended up paying about 80 dollars for this, expensive but definitely worth it.

YOU HAVE TO USE THIS IF YOU HAVE ACNE! IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY AND MY STORY READ ON: I suffer from hormonal acne. I had acne since i was like 12 but then i started oral contraceptives when i was about 15 or 16 and that worked wonders about a year after i started that i was acne free besides the occasional pimple around my time of the month. well i tried this benzaclin when i was 14 or 15 and it worked wonders. and almost a year ago i started getting my acne again due to going off birth control and i thought it would start going away after a few months so when it didn't i went to the dermatologist and i basically asked for benzaclin which ive been taking for about 3 weeks in the first week i saw an improvement but my skin was very irritated and dry and felt burned like a bad sunburn. i was using it every other day alternating with retin-a but i stopped the retin-a and only use benzaclin a few times a week. now the side effects subsided. This stuff is amazing more than 75 percent of my acne is gone!! i paid like 160 dollars for this bc of my stupid insurance but its worth the money. and btw use olive oil as a moisturizer while using this though it helps a lot.

I have the worst type of acne on the planet. I've had acne since the 5th grade and I'm going to the 11th grade now. Nothing has ever worked for me, and I've tried everything out there. When I tried this product I immediately saw a difference within days. I've got to admit, it dried out my face and made it really red and irritated but that didn't last long. If you're like me, and you are sick and tired of acne then going through alittle pain for flawless skin isn't a problem!

I'm 17 and I have been using Benzaclin for about a week now, and I can say, it does wonders for acne! Usually, every week I get at least one big whitehead and I always have blackheads on my nose and between my eyebrows. Now that I have been using Benzaclin I haven't seen even a bump on my face and my blackheads are shriveling up too! I have combination skin which is slightly oily on the forehead and VERY dry on the rest of it.
The Benzaclin has improved my acne, but almost ruined my dry skin. It is so red, and so sensitive to the touch, that I have had to start putting straight extra virgin olive oil on my face because my moisturizer (Neutrogena Oil-Free Sensitive Skin Moisturizer w/ SPF 15) hasn't been helping at all! If anything it makes it sting worse. Benzaclin also hasn't done anything to help the scarring on my left cheek and chin, but that takes time, so I don't expect that yet.
All in all, it definitely gets rid of your acne, but dries up your skin like no other.. I will buy it again, and also investigate better moisturizers to use.

This has been an absolute lifesaver for me. I had a recent bout of nasty and stubborn perioral acne which would not go away for over a month. I went to the doctor and he prescribed Benzaclin for me. It was almost $60 (I live in Canada and don't have any health plan) but it is so worth it. It comes in a opaque white plastic pump bottle, which is hygienic and prevents the formula from being compromised by light or oxygen. I apply a light coat of it to acne-prone areas and a little bit extra on any active breakouts.

Other than getting the occasional whitehead pimples, I've always had clear skin. However, I recently got 3 huge cystic acne bumps and a few smaller ones forming at different parts of my face. I wanted to get rid of the cystic acne that I had and also prevent the smaller ones from forming, so I went to my doctor to get something that would clear my face up. My doctor prescribed me Benzaclin. I've been using it for 6 days now and I already see fast results. The acne is almost gone and the marks I got from the previous bumps are fading. As with many others who have used this product, my skin is dryer than before (I didn't have oily or dry skin before using this product), and I have a bit of redness in the areas where my acne is not so severe, but I'm hoping my skin will get back to normal after a few weeks.
