I recently repurchased this moisturizer from Amazon, and let me tell you right now, I have no idea why I waited so long. I had no idea how perfect this little jar was until it wasn't around anymore! My skin just drinks this stuff up. It's mattifying, but not all day for me. My extremely, almost freakishly oily skin, has pretty much backed me into a corner, so much so that, I've pretty much ALMOST given up trying to find a product that mattifies me all day. This comes pretty close. Smells so sweet and pretty, the pump is awesome, and the consistency is nice and thick. A bit pricey, got my first bottle for $18 directly through mark. and my second bottle for $20. I would recommend it to anybody, though. Really really great product. Will repurchase once I run out. :)

I cannot say enough how much i love this moisturizer!! its amazing. this comes in a cute jar which you think at first is just an average jar, but it is actually a pump jar!! you push the pump on the top, and it deposits just the right amount of product without touching the rest of it, keeping germs at bay :) it really does mattify, but keeps you feeling clean and I never feel oily!!

I love the product. I have oily skin, and it really does it's job at keeping my problem at bay the whole day. It 's really light, and has a sweet scent that is refreshing. My only issue with it is the horrible, but pretty, packaging. I have no idea why Mark went with this type. Half the time I have to fight with it to come out, and no amount of shaking upside down seems to work. I really have to pump it, and work at it. Not very practical, in my opinion.
Price wise, I think it's reasonable. Not very cheap, but is about the same as similar products that I saw at the drugstore.
Overall, great product, and it is worth fighting with the packaging.

I've tried other mark skincare items before and was never impressed, but this moisturizer is different. It comes in a fairly large package, which is quite bulky and hard to store. But it has a neat pump that reminds me of those nail polish remover containers that nail salons have.
The price is a bit high for avon/mark ($18/1 oz) but it's worth trying if you've got oily skin.
I personally don't need much moisturizing during the warmer months because I already have oily skin, but I like that this gives you a touch of moisturizer with a matte finish.
The scent is a bit overwhelming at first. You can definately smell alcohol for the first few tries, but then once you get over that it smells chocolate-y, which isn't my favorite.
Overall, I really like how this mattifies my skin but provides moisture at the same time. I use it both day and night.

I have had a love hate relationship with this. Sometimes it works great and other times I am not so impressed with it. The smell is pretty good and has a fresh sweet smell to it that it makes it fun to apply. Sometimes this left my skin without breakouts and sometimes it seemed to add to them. This was definitely better then a normal moisturizer - my skin was not as oily. I hated the packaging. It seemed great at first being able to push and have some come out of the top, but I found very quickly that it did not work so well. I finally started having to twist open the top and just scoop it out. Very much a pain in the butt. I personally think there are better moisturizers out there, but if you are short on money and do not have too many issues with breakouts this would probably be good to try.

A very thick cream that didn't help with my shiny, greasy t zone and didn't sit well under my make up. I realized too that the reason my skin felt tight, dry and uncomfortable is that alcohol is the 2nd ingredient.

I have been using this for 2 weeks, and really liking it. I have incredibly oily skin and use proactiv everyday. I also use the proactiv's green tea moisturizer but hate having to reorder frequently. I discovered mark's Matte Chance, and its somewhat similar. Matte chance is thicker in consistency but it is oil free and moisture oily skin without making me shiny/sweaty looking. I like Matte Chance just a little better (than green tea moisturizer) because it does absorb all the flakiness I may have during winter skin. This product contains alcohol others are mentioning below, but for my oily skin, it soaks up my oil. My face has enough oil at the end of the day to fry an egg. EDIT: the pump doesnt always work, i may have to figure out away to open this.

I love this product. A lot. I have pretty oily skin and have always been looking for that one product that would change everything for me, and this is it. The lotion is light weight, and absorbs instantly, which is great when I am busy getting ready for school in the morning and don't have time to be waiting for lotion to dry. I notice a big difference already after that just in the appearance of my skin, it gives such a nice glow, and my foundation applies much smoother! Throughout the day (I am at school for 7 hours) I do not have to blot my face at all, whereas before I did. Sometimes after school I will need to if I am going out afterwards or something but this lotion has really been a life changer for me! It is not like it removed 100% of my oil but such a big portion of it on a day to day basis I still cant believe it! I haven't run into any packaging problems but I haven't had it that long. It is a little pricey, but for me it is worth it, and it takes the place of 2 products, a moisturizer, and primer, so I don't mind.
Will definitley repurchase!!

This is good for oily skins especially in the summer. I don't think it's a good moisturizer for the winter, not hydrating enough. It goes on quite matte for me and pretty much stays that way.

I am a mark. rep and love everything this company has to offer...except this. There is a high level of alcohol in it, so much that you can actually smell it when you are putting it on.
I decided to ignore it and give it a test run for about a week before I just gave up on it. I have super sensitive skin so my skin was turning red from the alcohol. It works wonderful as a mattifying lotion and I have no doubt that this would work very well for someone who has normal skin.

I really dislike this. I'm a mark rep and got a bunch of samples of this before it launched. I gave several out to my customers and saved some for myself to try. First, it doesn't moisturize at all. I know it's supposed to be mattifying, but as it's labeled as a moisturizer, I expected it to at least be a little hydrating. It doesn't make my face feel tight or uncomfortable, but it stings a little due to the high alcohol content. I can see this causing serious problems with prolonged use. Second, it has no SPF, which I consider important when it comes to any skin care. Third, and here's my biggest gripe of all, it made me break out horribly. Granted, I have severely sensitive skin. A lot of things make me break out, but never this fast! The first day I wore it, I came home at the end of the day, removed my makeup and was absolutely HORRIFIED at what I saw....tiny little whiteheads all over my face, EVERYWHERE! Even places I never break out! Since this was the only new product I was using, there was no where else to look. This "moisturizer" gets a huge thumbs down from me. Perhaps someone with tougher skin could handle it, but I won't be recommending it to any of my sensitive-skinned customers!

I only have samples of this so I dont know about the packaging problems, I only use it when Im gonna use creamy foundation, I like the smell. It leaves my skin soft which most mattifying products dont!, it doesnt last as long as I would want but it does its job for the price!...will keep getting the samples as i read bad things bout packaging.

The only thing I don't like is that this product contains no SPF. It really mattifies my skin and works quite well under makeup. The company does need to redesign the bottle, which is why I only gave it 3 lippies.

I love, love, love this moisturizer because its so light. I have acne prone skin and I can finally moisturize with something that does not make me break out. It really does mattify my skin even if its just for a few hours. The only thing I dislike is the alcohol, although it doesn't seem to have any huge negative effect right now. As for the packaging, its necessary to keep the air out. The problem everyone is having can be remedied by shaking the jar so the product goes to the top, or leaving it upside down.
EDIT; I've taken out 2 lippies! because after long term use of this my face is drying out. I should of listened to Paula Begoun's review. Basically alcohol in a moisturizer defeats its entire purpose but I will keep this and use it every now and again.

I received this in a swap last month and I have been using it everyday in my morning routine. I have sensitive and combination skin: oily t-zone, normal on cheeks. The so-called "lightweight" moisturizers I have tried in the past tend to fail me because they either break me out or I find them too greasy. Matte Chance was a pleasant surprise. It absorbs very quickly and the matte finish lasts for a good couple of hours. Although I wish the effect lasted longer, the blemishes on my forehead have drastically reduced over the weeks all thanks to this moisturizer as it keeps the oil at bay. It's does a superb job and this is exactly what I need for summertime. The smell isn't a major concern (It smells like vanilla mixed with chemicals). I find the airless pump design quite useless. I have to shake it to get the product out and it dispenses different amount each time.
**EDIT: The pump finally stopped working and when I untwisted the top I found out there was still a lot, and I mean A LOT of product left in the jar. Not impressed with the design at all.

this moisturizer does exactly what it's supposed to do: mattify your face. it leaves my face so smooth that i don't even need a face primer anymore. my only complaint about this product is the smell. it's a mix of sugar cane and pumpkin and one whiff of it makes me gag. i actually stopped using it for a couple days because i didn't want to smell it as i put it on my face. but i've decided to get over the smell because the product itself works great.
