This stuff can do in a pinch. I picked it up while on vacation and am currently wearing it over Covergirl 3-1 Foundation, and it's okay. It's not as finely milled as many other mineral powders I've tried. The packaging is compact, but the brush that comes with is useless -- way too bristly. Also, when the product is shaken inside the closed jar, it can get a little messy on the lid and subsequently messy when you open it, but that's the case with many powder jars like this. I prefer Physician's Formula mineral powder for a finer milled power and also for their little inner plastic lid that keeps product from getting all over the lid when closed.

This is probably my favorite powder ever, but I'm not too fond of the packaging and the mini kabuki that comes with it. The product spills very easily and the brush is too small, but the powder is great!

I like this stuff but really dislike the packaging. The powder tends to spill all over the place and the holes are too big. This isn't something that I can just throw into my bag, because the powder spills out. I also did not like the mini brush applicator because it was too rough. But for the powder itself, I like it! :-)

I'm a fan. The reason this is getting four stars rather than five, is that it appears to show up a veil-like dullness on the face in photos. Other than that - it works well with moderately oily skin, and sets foundation nicely. The photos thing is kind of a bummer though.

I got this powder for about $9 at walmart to set my foundation and possibly use over just concealer. I am pretty pale so I figured I needed to get the "translucent" one as the lightest was a tad too dark for me when I tried one of my friends. I would honestly rather it be completely colorless but I don't mind the slight tint. I really like this product. I have had the same container for 2 months now and still have quite a bit of it left. I usually have dry skin but I have been taking some vitamins for my skin and have developed a slight shine. This works well with both. It hasn't dried out my skin or broken me out and it sets my foundation and covers my shine. I like the packaging it's cute, but I would not recommend the brush. It's just terrible... I use my kabuki brush and just use a thin layer on my face. It makes my face look airbrushed. I'm not going to say it works any magic as my makeup still wears off somewhat throughout the day but I don't find that this sinks into my lines or pores any more than usual, in fact I feel like it helps prevent it. I plan to repurchase :)

I put it on after applying Maybelline's Mineral Power foundation. It creates a smooth finish while helping reduce the look of large pores. The main ingredient here is corn starch so I guess in a pinch I could always use a corn starch-based baby powder instead. I used to use Bare Minerals finishing veil but Maybelline's is about 1/2 the cost and works just as well.

I used this for the first time this morning. The sifter is not very forgiving, so quite a bit of shaking/tapping was needed to get the product out. Also, the brush it came with did feel like broom bristles so I used my own brush and the powder goes on well and appeared very natural. My face appeared brighter and luminous immediately after application. Three and half hours later, my face has a fresh, dewy healthiness to it that looks very natural.

I mainly wanted this for the purpose of setting the BB by Maybelline that I apply first, so I like that it is translucent and doesn't add any color. So far I do not notice any oxidation or orangey coloration of the BB underneath the veil. I have blotted with a kleenex, because my face does become very oily. So far, I can say this is not going to mattify your skin, especially if you are oily like me. But, it does gives a very natural glow. If you are looking for that type of look, then definitely try this product. Since this is only the first day, I'll update after a week as to whether I still like it, love it, or otherwise.

I'm not a huge fan of powder and this is the only one I've ever tried. It's easy to apply and it sets my foundation beautifully without looking really powdery.

I really like this finishing veil. I think it makes my makeup lasts all day and I'd definitely recommend it. I live in Florida and it gets pretty hot and I used this to set my concealer when I went out. I was in the sun from 9:00 A.M. to 10 P.M. and my skin still looked great! I wouldn't use the brush that comes with it. At first I did and I was like "why do people hate this brush?! It works!" But when I used my own powder brush I got a much, much nicer look. It blends beautifully.

This powder is ok, it hardly does anything though. I used it to absorb the excessive oil on my face and it's the only thing the powder is good for. I guess this is what it's supposed to do?

This is a nice product for the price. It is fragrance free, preservative free and finely milled that it applies like a dream. It is the perfect finishing touch to set foundation and give a smooth, finished look to makeup. Has a tiny bit of mica sparkles in it, which I do not care for.

I love this, I use the Mineral Power foundation and when I put this over it, it just finishes the look. I love it. If my foundation looks a little more darker than it should, this lightens it up and adds just that flawless finish on it. It just looks really good when you put it on! I have been buying this for the past year, and I don't intend to stop!

I came across this powder at CVS and I purchased it for $6 with a coupon. I thought I was getting a good product at an excellent price but I was wrong! The brush is soooo stiff, you feel like you are scratching your face with a broom! Hated the brush. Then the powder itself: it oxidizes my MAC pro longwear foundation pretty bad. It looks like I have applied a huge amount of pink bronzer on my face and neck. It does feel good upon applying the product, but after a few hours, my face started looking bad. I think this powder highlighted my acne blemishes and scarring, exactly what I was trying to hide! It settled into my pores and made my foundation look cakey. Does nothing for oil control either. I read other reviews of people with oily skin and IMO this is not for people with oily and acne prone skin.

I originally reviewed this product several months ago and was very much on the fence about it. However, I've found that I keep coming back to this for the many reasons listed below.

This loose powder is the only one I've found that matches my skintone, doesn't oxidize, doesn't break me out, doesn't wear down after a full day of wear, and lasts for 2-3 months (which is great for a powder that only costs $10!).
When first applied, this makes my skin look almost airbrushed, which I love!

The only problems I have with the powder itself are: 1) After several hours it CAN cake up, and 2) It doesn't control oil that well. However, an oil-controlling primer or oil-blotting sheets will easily take care of that.
As for packaging, I wasn't thrilled about: 1) Having no mirror, 2) Having to unscrew the cap, swirl the brush around in the powder, and use another mirror to apply (both time consuming and embarrassing in public), and 3) Carrying around both the container AND the brush in my purse.

Overall, though, this is the best loose powder I've ever used, and I'll keep coming back to it. It's relatively cheap, it doesn't cause breakouts (which is HUGE for me), and is much better than any other powder I've used in the past. Highly recommended, especially for those with acne-prone skin such as myself.

After almost a year of ignoring this powder at the bottom of my stash, i decided to whip it out and give it a try.
This runs you about $6 at Target, less if it's on sale. Anyway, I bought it when I was trying to do some geisha makeup for halloween. As it happens, this was also one of my gateway products into makeup, so it has some sentimental quality to it *reminiscing*.
Buuuut...back to the review hehe :)
It's really finely milled which is something you want in a powder as it doesn't tend to clump or cake your foundation as you apply. Bonus: its translucent so anyone can wear this without fear of looking like the freakin' bride of frankenstein (been there, done that lol) It doesn't really control oil like a regular powder does but the tradeoff is fine as this leaves a really flawless, pore-less finish--at least on my skin it does; results will vary. It also has some other uses when it comes to "watering down" any pigments or eyeshadows that are too strong, and when re-pressing them. Overall this is a very versatile and quality product. Would definitely repurchase. Newfound love. 4/5

Tried this after my BE Mineral Veil ran out, and although it's not quite as good at setting foundation, it vanishes pores and neutralizes redness around the nose. Unfortunately, it doesn't mattify. After applying this in the morning, I need to blot my T-zone by early afternoon.

I bought this powder because I was looking to try something new and more "healthy" and I am absolutely LOVING this stuff right now.

I have VERY VERY pale (nc5-nc15 mac) skin tone that is yellow undertoned and so its extremely hard for me to find foundation. I found this powder to have a very slight pink tone to it but its so sheer that it doesnt show up on your face.. it becomes more neutral.

This powder works AMAZINGLY over maybellines fit me foundation (because I dont like the fit me powder). It gives me a flawless dewy finish for my very very dry sensitive acne prone skin and Ive had no break outs or any problems with this powder. Perfect!

The only thing I have to say is that I wish it was easier to get the product out of the sifter but I can live with that.

This product is okay at setting my sunscreen, but it left me feeling itchy. I do like that it is so finely milled that it leaves a nice finish, and there's no shimmery look that some minerals have. It's weird that the first ingredient is GLASS!. The brush is cheap; don't bother using it. I had to return it because I think I had a reaction, but I'm very sensitive.

Very functional product. It takes away all the shine and gives a natural finish all at the same time. The small kabuki brush it comes with, however I would not reccomend because its not good quality so instead I use my elf stipple brush which works great. A little goes a long way, with daily use I've had this thing for almost a year now and its practically full.
