I am tormented by this burning tongue when I try to go to sleep at night.
I have severe dry mouth all day. This stuff doesn't seem to make it better and it is $9 US.
I needed this to work for me oh well.
I am using it with the biotene gel as well.

I'm in the minority here. I bought this not due to dry mouth or canker sores but because SLS severely dries out my lips and this was one of the few SLS free toothpastes that's easy for me to get. This did the trick..it significantly decreased the dryness and flakiness that I have suffered from for years and years but I broke out in little bumps around the mouth every time after usage. I have to take points away bc of the irritation and the taste was just awful. I couldn't stand the taste at all and I don't have a picky palate.

Seemingly out of nowhere, last year I began getting huge breakouts around my mouth area. When one would finally go away, two more would take its place. They were so big and noticeable people thought I had herpes! At first I read whitening toothpastes can cause the problem so I stuck to regular toothpaste but the problem subsided slightly, only to come right back as bad as before. Some reading on MUA and Google made me see the culprit was more likely the sulfates that are in most toothpastes on the market. I had never heard of Biotene before but because it's sulfate-free I figured I had nothing to lose at this point. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find it but it's in every major [and even a few not so major] drugstore and supermarket chain I shop at - I just never even noticed it! I've been using it for over six months now and the breakouts have COMPLETELY stopped. Not only did the existing breakouts clear up, but new ones stopped forming and the area around my mouth has been clear since I switched to Biotene. This is HG for me and I will continue to repurchase again and again!

Biotene is a great brand its very gentle on the mouth. gentle enough that their brand of mouth wash is suggested to use as an after oral piercing aid. it does have the same alcohol burn as all the other products and doesnt leave a harsh taste.

I have dry mouth as a result of medication that I take. Thanks to Biotene I have kissed dry mouth good-bye! I've also managed to reduce tartar and cavities!

GREAT toothpaste. I've gotten mouth canker sores for as long as I can remember- since I was a little kid. I would get awful, painful, BAD ones. I'd been to doctors and dentists and no one knew why I was getting them or why they were so bad. They would give me the speech of...eat less acidic foods. Nothing worked. I resorted to living with the painful things until one day a few years ago, I happened to read an article in a health magazine about how SLS in toothpase can cause canker sores in some people. Now not once did a doctor or dentist ever tell me this, so I was very skeptical...but I went out and looked hard to try and find a toothpase without SLS in it. Its a difficult task. I was able to find 1 that didnt list it in the ingredients. Biotene Toothpase for Dry Mouth. Weird name- never heard of it, but I gave it a shot. Literally within a month I knew something miraculous was happening. I wasnt getting canker sores. At all. Now if you've ever lived with really bad, painful canker sores...you know what a relief this would be. And if I accidently bit my mouth while eating, I didnt get the usual nasty spot...I might get a teeny tiny canker sore that would go away within days instead of over a week and it barely hurt. I was shocked. Clearly SLS in toothpaste is a very very BAD thing for me. So I now try to avoid it in anything I can. If it can do that to my mouth...what else is it doing to me? The only other toothpaste Ive found without SLS and liked is Pronamel. The only thing I dont like about Pronamel is it says not to use it for more than 1 month. Same results however. I will continue to buy this product for as long a they make it. HG!

By the way- this comes in a paste (somewhat gel like paste) and a gel formula. They both seem to work the same but I usually buy the gel as it tastes just a bit better and I prefer gel toothpastes. When I cant find the gel, I use the paste.
