This is the most expensive lipstick I've ever bought at $26.00 a stick. The packaging is nothing special, comes in a plain black small box labeled NARS in big letters and the lipstick is inside with no seal around the tube. The lipstick was in perfect condition though. Roman Holiday is one of the prettiest pinks I have ever put on and the texture is perfect-smooth and creamy. It stays nice for about three hours and feels very hydrating on the lips. No taste or smell which is nice.

I bought Roman Holiday A) Because I love the NARS sheer lipstick line and B) Because the name got me. Lame, I know but sometimes you can't help yourself and I just love Audrey Hepburn and her films.
So Roman Holiday is quite a cool toned pink, it looks quite mauve in the bullet. Applied to my reddish, pigmented lips it's just about passable- I have warm undertones so it sort of clashes or something with my complexion and comes off a little 'barbie'. If the product was any more opaque then I'd have considered it unwearable.
It's funny actually because this lip also seems to drain my face a little. I paired it with Estee Lauder's Electric Pink blush (which is of the same colour family) and Roman Holiday seemed to suck all the colour out of my cheeks and direct attention to the lips. I find that for my colouring it does not go AT ALL with any hint of peachy/reddish/bronzey blush without looking a bit cheap.
This lack of versatility is why I have knocked a mark or two off. It's fine for a bright blue-pink lip focused look- but I need to centre the rest of my makeup around it in order for it to be flattering. The formula I still love- the shade was maybe just not perfect for me. I can imagine this working considerably more for ladies with cooler, pink undertones.

Love the color! It is a beautiful pink. It is sheer and glossy, my ONLY bother is that it doesn't last, it just doesn't stay on well, also I feel as if I have to put foundation on my lips first to make the flour the best it can be!

My new best friend!! This is my lippie, perfectly sheer when applied lightly gives a pink plum mauve with a cool side. After a bit is becomes more rosey mauve, gets warmer on me as time goes on. Stays on like 2 hrs settles in nice gives a rosy pout lip, natural! Gorgeous color. Much more pigmented than the color looks online or in the tube. Still looking for more of a baby pink. This is very similar to Bobbi Brown Pink Orchid Lip Treatment, this is slightly darker.
Someone else reviewed this last yr and said its similar to Mac A Rose Romance I have them both and the Rose Romance is way more shiny & shimmery & lighter pink overlay than this NARS.

Great pink lipstick! I went to Sephora looking for NARS Venice but they were sold out so I bought this one. It's a lovely smooth sheer pink and as others have said, it looks great with blonde hair. I don't like heavy matte lipsticks so I love that this is sheer. I usually wear MAC's Delish liner under pink lipsticks and it works well with this. It is slightly drying and you should have exfoliated lips before applying.

I LOVE Roman Holiday! I purchased it for twenty four dollars in Sephora and I have it in the lip pencil version. This color is beautiful! Especially if you have blonde hair or green eyes. It really brings them out. If you have either of those I suggest you try this out, you won't regret it :)
************************If it is not the pink you wanted, you need to apply a bit of concealer on your lips before. That brings out the pink**************

I don't like how sheer this is, but the formula is very nice and moisturizing. It ends up looking purple on my lips rather than the candy pink I had wanted. Not a repeat buy for me.

I really like the texture as well as the color on my lips and complextion. Really a pretty color especially for spring and summer!
Age: 18 & Under Skin: Combination, Fair Hair: Blond Eyes: Grey
was my favorite lipstick at first, and then I got kind of bored of it, the shade is different on everyone due to the fact that its a sheer. Regardless of its buildability.

This is a nice pink choice for Nars, you can notice the pink if you apply it lightly and definitely more if you apply i like to layer with MUFE S22 lipgloss for a pink but not too pink color! Make sure you exfoliate lips when using the product otherwise it will tug a little on lips. I love this for a subtle pink lip and smokey eye! The only draw back is once you sharpen it won't sharpen evenly (or maybe my sharpener was big) but it is a jumbo pencil and has lasted me quite a while. would recommend but not a necessity!

I love this colour and the texture of the lipstick which is wonderfully smoothing on my lips. I'm finding it a very easy colour to wear and it brightens my face a treat.
It's a very pink colour but in my opinion not the sort of colour you would consider barbie pink (which tends to be more of a whiter pink than this one). This is the sort of fresh pink colour that I think is synonamous with spring makeup. I'd buy again .. definately!
(For reference I mix an NC15 and NW15 in Mac to get the right colour for my skin)

Ok so this is a light pink color. It's very similar to Mac lovelorn. The nars is creamier and wears a little better. The color is very pretty I'm an nc30 skin tone. It is great and not too barbie pink.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Normal, Medium, Cool Hair: Blond, Straight, Fine Eyes: Green
One of my favourite lipsticks, and one of my favourite NARS products. Lovely, creamy texture with good staying power and doesn't end up smudging/all over your teeth. The colour is slightly brighter than baby pink when applied lightly, but can be quite a vibrant pink when layered - easily used day or night. 100% recommend this.

I love this color. It's special, unique, and really interesting. It can be a nice sheer bright pink if you apply a small amount, which is what I do. It just stains my lips this beautiful light pink color without making me look like a barbie doll with my blonde hair. If you're wanting to try NARS I suggest this color and maybe the more natural/berry Dolce Vita which is another popular NARS shade. NARS also has great nudes, but I'm not a fan of that look.

I guess this color is either too sheer or my lips are too dark because even after building up a layer of this, the color did not pop out as much as I thought it would on me. $24 for this lipstick and not being thrilled about it makes me tempted to return it. Since the closest Sephora is about 30 minutes away, I think I'll give it another try when I get the chance. It may grow on me. I also have a Nars lipstick in honolulu honey and love it. It is moisturizing and doesn't have an odor. Great product, overall. I'm just not impressed with this color.

Probably one of the best lipstick that I've ever purchased, definitely get yourself one.. I love the pigment of Roman Holiday it shows up very well.
Age: 25-29 Skin: Combination, Fair, Cool Hair: Blond, Medium Eyes: Green
I love this lipstick. A beautiful shade of pink to enliven my fair skin. Goes great with "Desire" Blush.......consider me sold.
Age: 25-29 Skin: Dry, Fair-Medium, Cool Hair: Blond, Wavy, Fine Eyes: Blue
I got this color when my MAC speed dial ran out.
I am not sure which I like better but they are close. Both are blue based pinks and on the sheer side when it comes to lipstick.
It looked great layered under NARS Angelika lipgloss and it looks nice alone too
Age: 19-24 Skin: Dry, Fair-Medium Hair: Black Eyes: Brown
My lips are quite pigmented, it turns this bright pink into a brighter-mata-hari blush colour but on my lips. A muted bright mauve rose colour, I guess. It's very beautiful.
The formula in this lipstick is SHEER but it is one of NARS more pigmented Sheer formula lipsticks.
NARS lipsticks are mean to be scent-free but to me it smells like the cereal Fruit Loops with a bit of a plasticy smell behind it. I don't smell it when it's on my lips though.
The staying power isn't amazing. An hour or two at best. I don't find it particularly moisturizing either.
At $30 CAD, I have mixed feelings for this product and so I wouldn't warrant a re-purchase. The colour's lovely but I'm sure I can find others similar, the price is pretty hefty for a rather meagre lasting power of lipstick and smell& taste isn't that great either (smell's gone when on my lips and I don't lick my lips so this argument is probably moot).
It's Good (3) but not great (4) and not HG (5).

This is my go to lipstick. I have fairly yellow skin with olive undertones so warm colors tend to make me look a bit jaundiced. This lipstick (if used lightly) can be used everyday. I love the blue pink color of it - it helps make me look less splotchy and red somehow. Also the pigment is amazing - i have fairly pigmented lips and this lipstick masks it pretty well. of course all lipsticks will look different on everyone because of their pigmentation but this stays true to color on mine which is very difficult. Also, its very emollient so my lips don't feel dry at all and it also has no taste which is very important to me because if I don't like the taste I can't even bear to put it on my lips.
