I cannot understand why the Body Shop stopped doing this sort of clear, anti-feathering lip liner. I used to buy two at a time and then they stopped selling them and since then I haven't found anything as good for a similar price. This one is good but I cannot stomach the price! Instead I go through the daily routine of using a lip conditioner/primer (Clinique All About Lips), a firming and mattifying make-up primer (currently Gale Hayman Youth Plus) foundation/powder, lip liner, blend in my lipstick, blot all over then add either another layer of lipstick or some gloss. It's something I do every day now anyway, it works, my lips are in excellent condition(!) and I don't have to re-purchase this very expensive item. If anyone knows of something very similar for half the price please let us all know in case feathering becomes a problem again!

The only reason I won't repurchase is the price and the fact that other products can and do the same thing for less $. But this does work well I can't lie. Bought it to keep my red lips in place and it certainly does that. It creates a wax barrier around the lips and stops any feathering and bleeding.

Once I run out, try another product and I see if there is or isn't a difference...I may have to change my "won't buy again" rating lol

I need this for Ruby Woo Mac lipsticks. And I am old and my lips feather like crazy. I do wish I could some how put chapstick in a pencil because that is what this is. But it works. And it has no color to conflict with any of my lipsticks or glosses. This goes on smoother than my other lip liners and still has the wax to keep my lip color from feathering. I will definitely buy this again.

AWESOME!! the best one of this type I have ever used and I have tried so many. It really is perfect. Works great - really keeps lipstick /liner in place and on longer. And I like the fact that it is slender instead of wide like my previous Bliss Lip Guaze. I love it- and went back and got another!

This product does exactly what its name promises - it acts as an invisible borderline to keep make-up from feathering. When I apply around the lipline, it keeps even runny red lipstains from feathering. I tried it under my eyes, and found that it keeps liner from getting in the fine lines below my eyes. This is a new staple in my make-up drawer. I will repurchase.

SCORE!!!

Once in a while you find that one product that makes so many other products work better and invigorates your makeup experience...and this is one of them! Borderline is doing for my lips what UDPP (and my other primer favorite, MAC Painterly) did for my eyes -- opening up a whole new world where my existing products can be fabulous and wear more beautifully with less maintenance.

I'm a lipstick and gloss junkie. Always have been. Unfortunately, my lipstick and gloss have required near constant upkeep, as I experience a lot of feathering (esp. above the top lip in the cupid's bow area).

I have tried many, many tricks to avoid this -- I've exfoliated, moisturized, tried various primers, plumpers, regular liners and clear liners, and nothing has ever really worked. Until now. This stuff really works!

I almost teared up the first time I wore this, checked my lipstick an hour later, and saw no feathering. It's that good.

I'm impressed! It goes on clear and smooth, and is easy to make a consistant line. I tried it today with a very red lipstick that has traveled and feathered in the past. I used the Borderline around the outside of my lip line, a red liner on the lipline and lip, and then the lipstick. My lipstick stayed where it was supposed to all day. I didn't get any feathering or bleeding, and I ended up with a better lipshape than I can usually do on my own with just the red liner. I really like this product! I've tried it with lip gloss too, I don't know that its necessary with gloss or made a huge difference, since I don't have trouble with lip gloss feathering. Only bummer, mine didn't come with a sharpener, it seems older versions did.

This is a waxy lip pencil to wear outside the natural lip line to stop lipstick feathering. Similar concept to Laura Mercier's Flawless Fix pencil, except that has a flesh tint and this is colourless.

I haven't been especially impressed by it. It's OK but I do find it wears off quite quickly. The pencil itself is very chunky so it's difficult to apply with precision. Also difficult to sharpen (although it does come with its own sharpener). I find it wears down quite quickly and I am sharpening it every couple of days.

I bought this to prevent the feathering I was experiencing with a NARS lipgloss and I had a few problems with it that means I won't be repuchasing. The first time I sharpened this using the enclosed sharpener, a good chunk of the product actually broke off leaving almost half and inch of the pencil empty. I've resharpened several times since then and it hasn't reoccurred. I tried sharpening with a NARS sharpener that I have and it didn't work well with the pencil at all.

My other issues is that the material the casing is made of is very sharp if not sharpened completely smooth, which I found difficult to do.

Finally, the product didn't really do much to stop the feathering. Instead, I ended up with a blurry border that made it look like the lipgloss was spreading across my face. I used the product daily for more than a month and I never saw any improvement.

I did like the color of the packaging, portability and that a sharpener was enclosed.

I gave this pencil a five because it does what it promises: It keeps your lipstick inside the boundaries of your lips. The pencil is greasy, which I'm not crazy about, but it's clear and not shiny. I've found that I absolutely must apply it evenly and heavily all around the outside of my lips or else some of lipstick will bleed. I also need to pay special attention to my cupid's bow and the corners of my lips. Once you get the hang of the application and learn to ignore the greasiness, you will find that this is well worth the $18.50 price tag because it will give you confidence when wearing lipstick.

I'm sorry I dont mean to bring down the ratings. I have had this for 2 weeks, I just dont understand the hype. Everytime I have worn this lip pencil, this dissipates of my lips as quickly as any cheap gloss. Sorry this is going back.

being a girl who wears nothing but red lipstick, you know how hard it is to maintain that perfect look without your lipstick bleeding and smearing all over. this works wonders. i outline my lips with it before putting my lipstick on and it works like a dream. i can even eat semi-greasy food and no feathering, fading or bleeding. it's so awesome, will buy again and again.

Does exactly what it promises to do! This little pencil really delivers. I wear it traced around my regular colored lip liner when going for a bold shade like a bright pink/red. Keeps my reds from turning into a bloody mess on my face! I'll definitely rebuy when I run out.

The BEST! I have tried so many tricks to keep my lipliner from migrating into the creases around my mouth and nothing worked. I found this in Sephora and will be going back for a second one as a backup.

It lasts, my lipstick looks perfect. I couldnt be happier. Finally a product that does what you pay for!

I had my doubts but this really worked. I have a major issue with lipstick and lip gloss bleeding. No method (such as putting on concealer or powder around the lip line) worked. This clear lip liner has a thick point and creamy texture and goes around the outside of my lip line very smoothly. My lipsticks and lip glosses no longer migrate out of my lips. The best thing of all is that the liner itself also seems to stay put throughout the day and works beyond lunch time when I need to reapply lipstick or lip gloss.

This new liner from Too Faced keeps lipstick and even greasy lip gloss from traveling beyond lip's borders. This is a matte, colorless (fairly fat) lip pencil designed to fill in and plump up vertical lip lines while it "locks" lip products in place ON the lips, not around them. By applying this around the natural lip line, this pencil actually DOES stop feathering very effectively without adding that "rimmed" look if/when the lipstick itself wears off. It also contains moisturizing and firming ingredients and comes with it's own sharpener. This colorless liner works with every lip color from light to dark and shiny to matte. It feels very soothing, is not irritating and lasts well. GREAT little product!
