I have long, thick hair that already has a natural volume to it but wanted more. The first time I used this, I used 5 pumps. Wayyy too much!! I got no volume at all, it was sticky and weighed down. The second time, I used just 2 & a half pumps and massaged it into the top of my head then blow dried upside down. Perfect! I then like to add argan oil on my mid lengths and ends for extra perfect hair. The volume lasted ALL DAY, well into the night. I dont get the bad reviews, Im sure they are using too much which is a big no no when it comes to using this. 2 1/2 pumps is all you need ladies. I had a lot of compliments on how big & bouncy (but natural looking) my hair was! Love it!

This definitely works for my thin and fine hair. Love it.

I don't get the negative reviews for this product. Gives my hair great volume with a slightly 'grippy' hold that's still there when I wake up the next day. No greasiness, no crunchiness, just lots of volume that can be reworked if necessary through the day by fluffing with fingers. I really, really like it and would recommend highly to anyone wanting body that looks believable and doesn't damage the hair. For reference, I have very fine and thinning (thanks to thyroid problems) hair that is a little below my collar bone and this gives my hair a really sexy lift. I never buy hair product any place I can't return it (ask before you shell out your hard earned money ladies) I feel if a company is selling product that I CAN'T try before I buy, they should support it with a fair return policy. But this one is a keeper, good luck trying to pry it out of my hands!! I love it!

I have used several bottles of this. I like the air dispenser. The product is liquid in the bottle but dispenses as a foam. 2 1/2 pumps is all I need (my hair is shoulder length). I blow dry my hair upside down, flat iron the layers and lightly mist with Sebastian Shaper Plus after styling. It does exactly what I want it to do. I get volume and texture without "great big hair". It lasts all day and the volume at my crown even lasts if I decide to pull my hair up in a ponytail at the end of the day. Great styling product imho

Hate it! Went to my salon to ask advice on curl definition. My hair is in good shape, never coloured or chemically treated, but as I get older the curl is losing some of its definition.

Walked out with Redken Body Full Shampoo, Conditiner and Carbo-Bodifier for $56.90.

First time using it and it has dried out my hair! It is frizzy, tangled, and feels icky.

I'm going back to my Aussie cheap stuff and the egg bomb periodically. Bummer!

I am not a fan of styling products generally, save hairspray--but this is pretty good stuff. I have very fine, thin, processed hair. Just a touch at my crown is enough to give me a little added lift when styling so my hair doesn't lay flat on top. I have not had the experience others have with the product failing after a few hours. I don't have any problems with frizz from this product, either. I only use one pump, and only put the product at the crown. Good stuff, will repurchase.

THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT IF YOU USE IT THE RIGHT WAY!

Step 1:
Put two pumps into hand then moisten into the crown of your head (on damp hair)... this may not feel like enough but it is... you dont want to end up greasy

Step 2:
Blow dry either upside down or hold the hair up from the roots on hot air

Step 3:
Once dry, continue to style... then when you are finished styling, hold your hair up from the roots and give your hair a cold shot with your blow dryer to set the style

Step 4:
Lightly hairspray

This product works if you know how to use it in the correct way. Too much will make your hair greasy (as any product used too much would) and not enough wont do a dang thing...

WARNING: This is not one of those "Big Sexy Hair" volumizers that turns your hair into 80s volume and makes it feel stiff... so if you are looking for that dolly parton hair to the cieling style... go for a different volumizer... this is a light lift with a silky touch

Great product and I would definatly buy this again!

I like this product as it does not wiegh my hair down. It makes it bouncy and give volume. Not so sure why it has gotten such bad reviews!!

The air-pump is great for dispensing and I usually find that this type of product is great for fine hair -- sadly not this one. I had the same experience as other reviewers... 20 minutes out the door and my hair was flat-to-the-scalp and a sad sight. It also felt gummy and sticky. I have the best luck with volumizing products that have no extra conditioning elements, but the trade off is getting a stiff texture which can be hard to blow dry or brush thru. That's why I always mix a small dab of mousse into volumizing products for fine hair. I'll be going back to my HG product by Aquage, their freezing foam. In 4 years it's the best I've found. Freezing Foam (mixed with Paul Mitchell Volumizing Mousse), boosts the thickness of my hair and doubles my volume. Even my stylists doesn't believe how I'm able to do it - HA! Not a lot of beauty supply stores carry it, but it's really easy to find online. I appreciate all the thorough reviews from everyone on makeupalley!

I didn't find this product any better than the previous 2 reviewers did, and I have baby-fine, straight hair...I'm really disappointed! I had read about this on beautyaddict's blog, and hunted it down to a nearby Ulta. I've tried this for about a week, and like the others have said, it initially creates some volume that deflates within a few minutes/as soon as you go outside (and I don't live in a humid climate!). My hair also feels gummy and coated after putting this in, and it completely zaps any natural shine that my hair has! I'm going to keep looking for a product that will give me some lift that lasts without the gooky feeling!

At FIRST this product was awesome! I LOVED it. The end result was big, bouncy hair (my hair is pretty long and heavy and straight so anything that makes my hair big is a plus) but like the other review said, the second I stepped outside, it went almost totally flat!! I was left with a little bit of volume but nothing noticeable. Maybe this works ONLY if you really do have baby fine hair. Oh well

This is a relatively newer product: Redken Body Full Carbo-Bodifier (in small print below name) Volumizing Foam for Baby Fine Hair. Amino acids are supposed to lift and hold baby-fine strands. It is a mousse type product. Well, I have baby fine hair and it was awful for me.

As people have mentioned on the boards, it is similiar to Aveda's foam mousse and Paves foam mousse (if they are still making that one). I was a fan of the Paves, but it has since disappeared from shelves. Redken's version smells great, kind of apple like but not sicky sweet...fresh/salon fresh. It gave oodles of volume, but I had two problems. First, my volume fell flat after one second stepping outside. Second, I have fine wavy/curly hair. And yes, I had volume...everywhere to the point it felt frizzy. I felt like I had lion hair. There was barely any definition in my waves/curls...they looked very 80's (not defined, just big). Those who have this texture know that the crown needs lift, but the bottom needs definition and frizz control. Even the crown fell flat though just 5 minutes after I did my hair. So yes, it gave great volume. But it did not last and created a very poofy straw like result. Usually if I am having an off hair day, I can pull it up into a pony tail and pull it down later to decent hair. Not with this...it was still straw like. If you have nice smooth strands and just need volume, this could work for you. If you have waves/curls, you will need a smoothing product or something similiar with this (or it just may not be for you). UPDATE: I have used as macartist87pics suggests and it still looked and felt awful. I had followed the instructions to the letter and it was still awful.
