Had this professionally applied last night on my toes. Soooo flattering, goes with everything, better than silver and not too yellowy like gold, just right in between. Lots of compliments at work today.

The technician who applied it got a gorgeous result after only two coats. Looks flawless even up close.

I'll wear this with my colourful sari to an Indian wedding in a couple weeks!

I LOVE this color. It goes really well on neutral leaning warm skin, and looks awesome with my engagement diamond! ...However, I never rate on color. The formula is on the thin side however it's workable. One star down because after just a few uses, formula gets kind of goopy and starts to need thinner. Staying power, chipping, etc is typical Essie.

I love the color of this mail polish. It's almost like they are covered in some sort of metal, it is not completely gold or silver and it goes with everything. My only problem with this polish is how thin the formula is. In order to cover all brush stokes and get the color as it shows in the bottle you need lots of coats. I did three yesterday and today another one and it finally looks the way I wanted it to, so this one requires patience.

I was looking for a nail polish that would make my fingernails look like they were coated in chrome and I think this did a pretty good job of it! It's a nice metallic chrome color with enough warmth in it to be flattering to my skin-tone. It really does look like liquid metal. The brush was great - I sometimes find Essie brushes to be a little narrow but this one wasn't and it was easy to apply the nail polish accurately. The consistency was great too - I sometimes find Essie nail polishes to be a bit watery but this one wasn't. When I first applied it the brush left brushstrokes in the polish but self-levelled quite well. I definitely needed 2 coats. Because this is a metallic it does accentuate any ridges, etc on the nails. I got a few small air bubbles on a couple of nails and my manicure lasted 3 days before I got 2 chips on 2 different nails, but I'm quite rough on my nails so that's pretty standard for me. The photo I'm adding here shows my nails 3 days after I did my manicure (using CND Sticky Base Coat and Seche Vite top coat). I won't buy it again though because it shows up the ridges, etc on my nails and caused air bubbles but I don't regret buying the bottle I have.

This polish is just ok for me...the shade is kinda blah and the coverage is not so great. It takes at least three coats to get the best coverage. Not worth the price.

This was my second Essie nail polish. It does have a paint thinner smell when you first apply it, and it IS watery. However, coverage is really good and at least for me, the thin consistency helps me make it so that there are no brush strokes, which is rare for a metallic nail polish.
This looks horrid with the Essie matte, in case anyone was wondering. The charm in this one is purely in the shine and lovely warm tones in the silver, which get lost with the matte topcoat.

This is my first Essie polish and I'm hooked. I confess that I bought this because I read it was a dupe for Chanel's famous Kalidescope nail polish, which I was lemming for ever since I saw swatches of it.

This is an unique and interesting polish. At first, I didn't really like it because in my living room lighting, it was just a muted olive green with a touch of gray. However, when I was in my bathroom, it flashed silver, gold, brown-gray, green, gold green at different angles. Amazing depth of color to this polish.

In general, I would say this polish has:
-Gold
-Silver
-Green

It applies well and two coats could do it for opaque coverage. However, the polish had an awfully strong paint thinner smell, which was the first time I ever had a polish with that scent.

This polish is really pretty. Its not that light silver color but its definately not gunmetal or to dark...a very chrome-like medium silver. It applied amazingly for me, no insanely visable brush strokes! I do not consider it a dupe for Chanel Kaleidoscope at all, Kaleidoscope is both silver and golden and this one has very little or no gold in it, atleast thats how it looks on me with my pale cool skin...A better dupe for Kaleidoscope is OPI Glamour Game but even that's not exact by any means. Anyway, great polish and highly recommened!

I wanted to buy this after seeing it used in a magazine. So I picked this up at Ulta and tried it out last night-wow! This looks like molten metal on the nails. I had to use three coats, but I have found this is typical of most Essie polishes. I also love that this is not pure "silver" but has some gold tones. This polish will be great for the holidays and also, as a previous reviewer mentioned, an edgy alternative to the dark, vampy nail. I will definitely purchase this again!

I love this shade! It's a medium shade of silvergrey, almost a brownish/goldish silver-mix. Not too metallic or shiny, not too silver. Just the perfect gray shade with a metallic sheen. I needed 2-3 coats for the color to be even and not too transparent (this is the case with all of the Essie polishes I've tried)

Unlike most silver polishes, this one has a bit of warmth to it, so it doesn't look so bluish and garish. The pewter tone gives it a little class and really makes it flattering. I got tired of the super-dark look in cold weather, so this is a good, edgy (but not tacky or juvenile) alternative.

I really love this polish! It really looks like metal after it dries. However I do think they should rename it. When I ordered it online I expected it to be silver, but there is too much yellow in it for it to be called Steel-ing the Scene. That's the only criticism I have though. It goes on flawlessly and one coat was completely opaque.

This is a great silver - not too blue/cool and has the effect of molten metal. Unfortunately this same effect highlights every imperfection in my nails, and even with a ridge filler they were really noticeable. Still, it's a nice shade and I'd recommend it for any skin tone (and anyone who likes the idea of a liquid mercury-like polish.)

Nice colour. I'm warm/fair and on me it looks pewter-y with a hint of silver at the same time. Very shiny, applies and wears really well with no brush marks typical of metallic colours.
