I love Vintage Sister lip balms! In general, they are a good quality balm with excellent mostuirizing properties.

The flavors/tastes are true to their names. Sometimes it takes a few uses for a true scent to emerge, so if you don't initially like something, give it a bit of a chance. For instance, at first Watermelon smelled very artificial, like Hubba Bubba. But now it is a refreshing watermelon scent.

I won't review every flavor I have, because it's many. But my favorites are Trick or Treat, Poison Apple (both Fall '11 limited edition), Honey and Peace of Mind. Trick or Treat literally smells like a bunch of candy. It's awesome!

After watching pinkiecharms review on these, I ordered them for myself.
1. Watermelon
2. Gummy Bear
3. Cherry Cola

I finished Cherry Cola and ended up throwing away Watermelon because it began to smell funky. Am currently using Gummy Bear, which is my favorite! I recommend these to every chapstick junkie out there. It's absolutely fabulous, great ingredients, moisturizes well, taste/smell is awesome, huge amount of product in the tin, smells true to its flavor.

The only downside to these would have to be the packaging. I don't know too many people who like to dig their fingers into their makeup, is just not sanitary but I will turn a blind eye to this because what the tin contains is just too great!

After lemming these for several months, I finally broke down and ordered five lip balms: Chai Tea, Circus Peanut, Frosting, PB & J, and Strawberry. There isn't one out of these five that I don't love, to be quite honest!

These balms are very moisturizing, and they don't feel sticky or waxy. My lips always feel significantly softer and smoother because of these. These last quite a long time throughout the day, despite the fact that the consistency is somewhat thin. Because of this, I don't feel like I have to use a lot of product, which means it will take forever for me to finish these.

As for the scents and flavors, the scents are strong and they're pretty tasty as well! When I first started using these, though, I didn't really detect much of a taste in any. Once I went deeper into the product, though, I was able to taste a lot! All of the scents and flavors are very true to their names, which is actually quite surprising sometimes (PB & J, for example).

The tins are absolutely adorable, and they make me want to start collecting! Some may dislike the type of balms that come in tins, but I tend to prefer them. For some reason, all of the balms that come in tins work on my lips better than the ones in tubes. I don't mind using my fingers to apply my lip balm if the balm works better.

I highly recommend trying these balms, unless you absolutely detest balms in tins. They're adorable, they smell great, they taste yummy, and they make my lips feel great!

I'm a lip balm addict, it's an essential, the pre-step for lip gloss and lipstick. I'm very picky though, I try hard to stay away from the drugstore sisters. Instead I shoot for the little guys, the sellers on etsy and eBay. While on youtube searching for reviews one day, I ran into 'pinkiecharm'. She seemed straight forward, and was raving about vintage sister. But I needed more reviews, which I found upon search.

Now I can't say I've ever been fully happy with home made lip balms I've bought, some seem slick and oily. Barely last, and tastes nothing like the flavor. Also, major packaging issues. Nonetheless, I was drawn in by vintage sister. The reviews, precious packaging, and savory sounding flavors, got me.

After a few cart fillings, and un-fillings, I finally decided to buy some. My package had come today, and I think it took 3-4 days. I was stoked when they arrived, in a very cute pink pouch, and business card. I bought orange dream, caramel, cotton candy, and circus peanut.

My favorite treat in the world, is cotton candy. And I've bought so many cotton candy balms, that leave me bitter/sweet. THIS THOUGH, smelled like sweet cotton candy, or is the closest scent I've come close to. It's a faint baby blue color, which doesn't pick up on the lips. The balm is hard, but not in the bad way where no product comes off. It's hard, but creamy to the tip, and filled to the brim. The product is dreamy, at first I'll admit I thought it might be awful, but it melts nicely. With very little product, my lips are smooth, slightly glossy, and well coated. It also lasts awhile! It's been on my lips for sometime now, and stuck through a few spoonfuls of ice cream.

Regardless, the product itself, is great. Flavors aside, it does the lips well. BEST, lip balm I've ever tried. And until I try other flavors, I have a feeling cotton candy will always be my all time favorite (I want to buy more).

Orange dream, is exactly as described and smells true to a creamsicle. And this is probably going to be my second all time favorite, because it's my other favorite treat. The product pro's are the same.

Caramel was a little hard to pick up on, but still holds a nice smell, I'm just unsure if it's true to the smell. Tastes good though.

The next one is circus peanut, and it smells good, but holds a lot of banana. The rest of the scents, are somewhat hard to pick up on in it. I heard raves about it, so I bought it, despite not being a big banana lover. It tastes true to what they said, but I'm unsure if I'll use it that much, or if it will grow on me. It's not the product itself, more just my preference towards scents and flavors.

I should mention that her flavors aren't disgustingly overwhelming. Very faint. But as I said earlier, GREAT lip balms.

Update::Being a lip balm addict I was excited to try these after all the great reviews I had heard. Though i'm rather picky with my lip balms. I hate all the drugstore ones, I really do.. Brands like Chapstick etc. tend to be waxy, drying to the lips, hard to apply and you're left with lips that feel as if they were tortured. So I stick to natural ones made by the small companies, like Vintage Sister. Vintage Sister is a a company out of Illinois that makes lips balms in a vast array of flavors. The lip balms come in cute little slide tins (which are filled to the brim.) and have cute characters labels on them, which I think are quite adorable. They have two lines of flavors. Lip lickers and lip indulgence. The lip lickers are the scents that reminds us of our childhood memories and the lip indulgence are the more adult like scents. The consistency and the ingredients are the same it's just that they're separated into Lip Lickers and Lip Indulgence. IMO, my favorite line of their lip balms are the Lip lickers flavors. The scents I have are Blueberry Cheesecake: this one smells like cream cheese and blueberries, at first I wasn't very fond of this one but it has become my favorite of the ones I currently have. Circus Peanut: this one smells more like banana, though on their webpage they describe it as bananas, marshmallows, and orange though I don't see where the orange takes place.. Pina Colada: this one smells just like the name pineapple and coconut, if you have ever tried a pina colada you'll know this one is true to its name that's why this is also a favorite on my list. Margarita: It was the only one from the ones I have that didn't have almost any scent to it but that went away after a couple of uses.. now it smells like lime and lots of lime. Root Beer: I love root beer and so I thought I was going to love this balm and I wasn't wrong. This one smells exactly like the A&W root beer soda with maybe a hint of cream. I love it. This might be one that might replace my favorite. They leave your lips moisturized for quite a while and before it even wears off you'll be wanting to reapply just to smell the goodness again. At fist I admit I thought these where going to be nauseating, where you would want to puke from the harsh smell, like other balms out there. But was I wrong, they're far from that. They aren't waxy, or sticky, I love the consistency of them. The balm is hard at first when having been stored, though the texture is rather smooth and creamy (especially after it’s been warmed up a bit in your hand or pocket), and can be applied fairly easy.. All have a faint taste which is true to their flavors. Plus for once I don't mind using my fingers to apply.. It doesn't leave that sticky weird feeling behind. I heard about them from Pinkiecharm on youtube and had to try them since she was so convincing. And after reading other reviews I decided to give them a try and don't regret it. These are my HG lip balms. Overall, I think they are worth it, they're really great. I really want to try more. I'm wanting to get the cotton candy along with one of the trios (the At The Movies one) but I know that new flavors will come and i'll want them too so i'm trying to wait. P.S. The shipping doesn't take long like 3-4 days, which IMO is rather quick comparing to others.

i just bought my vintage sister lip balm in Root beer, Candy Cane, and Divatini. they all smell sooo good and sooo true. it moisturize my lips really good and although it wears off i still can feel it moisturizing. it's not waxy, not sticky at all.just really smooth. i don't like the package (any package which i have to dip in my finger cos it makes my finger sticky). but this is not sticky on my finger. but i don't mind this time because i loooovveee itt!!! root beer smells like root beer (d'ooh), with candy cane i really smell the peppermint. with divatini, i scent a balance smell of sourness and sweetness from berries. and yes, i will buy it again (this is the kind of product that i would like to collect them all one day).

I love these lip balms, the formula is really creamy and it stays on your lips for a really long time. The pricing is great even when its international shipping like myself. They also offer product of the month at a discounted price which is handy to try new flavors. All orders come in a pink mesh bag which seems very personalised and sweet. The tins are easy to slide and are very compact. Smaller than what i first thought but the product goes a long way.
Lip Indulgence range is geared towards adult flavors like alcoholic drinks or party food.
From that range I have
Candy Kiss: This flavor is more subtle than the others and you can't smell it first off. It's only until you have melted to product with your finger that the scent comes out. It is very hard to describe this one but it is not similar to its description to me as the website says. It reminds me of the strawberry pink filling in milk chocolate.
Frosting: Stronger on that traditional vanilla bean scent than buttercream but thats a good thing. It smells like it has a hint of brown sugar to me too which is very pleasant. Stays true when on the lips too.
Orange Truffle: Fairly strong scent. Not the real orange citrus but the kind that typical dark choc orange you buy from the store. These chocolate based flavors are the only ones that leave a weird taste in my mouth.
Choc Raspberry: Similar to the previous leaves a weird taste behind but smells great. Strong enough on the raspberry that its at the same level as the chocolate. I swear there are shimmers in this one when it hits the light.
*Caramel Cream: Perfect caramel taste. Tastes even better to lick off your lips as its sugary sweet. Even my boyfriend uses this one in the winter. Not too heavy on the cream but easy to distinguish from straight up caramel. My favorite one for sure
From the Lip Lickers Range i have
Gummy Bear: Straight off the bat the scent is by far the strongest and the best smelling one to me. It smells more like of a concentrated sugar than gummy bear, reminds me strongly of starburst cherry fruit chew. The scent doesnt transfer to your lips as well as some of the others which is a slight downfall.
Circus Peanut: The scent is fairly on the money here. Smells just like that artificial banana flavor in the candy. The scent could be stronger to me but it transfers onto the lips fairly well. Has the cutest picture of an elephant on it too. (limited edition summer collection)

I'm hooked on the 1970's, so I was looking around for lip balms that resembles the Village Lip Lickers, then I came across these. I have this in watermelon, strawberry and winter mint. These balms are very moisturizing. Surprisingly, these balms do a fantastic job at getting dead skin off lips when applied before bed, and whipped away in the morning, and the ingredients are all natural. I wish the scent in the blams were stronger and resembled the flavors much better. I will purchase more in different flavors, because these balms are great at moisturizing.

Shipping: I ordered 5 Balms and received them in less than 3 days.. very impressive. The shipping for 5 was $5 and I believe for 6 or more balms it’s $6. They came in a little sheer pink draw-string bag and were each wrapped in plastic and came without any damage.

Size/packaging: I must say the tins are smaller than i expected but at the same time you get .25 oz of product, which is the most product i've seen in a lip balm/chapstick. They're about 2 inches in length and .8 inches in width and filled to the brim with product. I have pictures of the balms compared to random common objects on my page. As I'm sure everyone who has seen the website knows each product has an adorable girl or a character corresponding to the balm’s name on it and the balm is in a sliding tin and the lid comes all the way off so u have access to all of the balm.

Texture, moisturizing effect, etc: this balm is VERY moisturizing. if any of you have tried nivea or softlips, those don't even compare to the quality of vintage sister balms. These balms will last for hours and once they wear off i don't feel like i need to immediately reapply like I do with nivea and soft lips. The balms don’t feel waxy at all, they remind me of hair conditioner for your lips and they leave ur lips with that nice slip that conditioner leaves on your hair. Does that make any sense at all? I recommend applying these with your finger instead of a lip brush. I’m not sure exactly why that is but I think it’s because the heat of your finger melts the balm a little bit. And a lip brush applies a more sheer layer of the product.

Smell/taste: I ordered five flavors: Trick-Or-Treat, Pumpkin Spice, Blue Raspberry, Frosting and Gummy Bear. I’ve been trying to pick a favorite but it changes every time I apply a new flavor.

The first time I smelled Trick-Or-Treat I didn’t like it. It was very odd, it smelled like faint bubblegum and very strong chocolate, not the best combo. But the more I smell it the more the chocolate scent dies down and the bubblegum and sweet candy smell come to the front. Have you ever taken a big whiff of a bowl of Halloween candy? That is exactly what this balm smells like and it’s definitely grown on me. I REALLY like the taste of this one.. I mean, it tastes like candy!

I loved Pumpkin spice the first time I smelled it. It smells like fall.. if that makes sense. It’s true to the name… It smells like spices like cinnamon and nutmeg that go into pumpkin pie.. very yummy! I’m not sure how to describe how it tastes.. I guess it tastes how it smells. I know that last year they had a flavor called pumpkin and I thought they were the same scent since they had the same girl on them but I heard that pumpkin smelled like pumpkin pie but pumpkin spice doesn’t smell like pumpkin pie it smells spicy, so I’m not really sure if they’re the same.

I also liked blue raspberry the first time I smelled it and everytime after that. I really really like it but it smells exactly like the blue raspberry flavored Chapstick chapstick. You know the brand Chapstick.. haha. I don’t think that’s a bad thing because I LOVE the smell of that chapstick and this tinned balm is much more moisturizing, contaings more product and lasts a lot longer. It tastes how it smells.

Frosting, mmmmm frosting frosting frosting… it smells like vanilla butter cream frosting. Soooo yummy!!! It also tastes like vanilla butter cream frosting. It’s a perfect balm.. haha.

Gummy Bear at first smelled like a VERY strong sour cherry… cough syrup or something like that. But the more I smell it the more it smells like a cherry gummy bear.. it’s pretty distinct now, it definitely smells like a sour cherry gummy bear. This definitely has the strongest scent of the flavors I ordered. It has a yummy faint cherry taste.

Other: I talked about the taste in my mini reviews but I need to point out that the tastes are very faint, keep that in mind. Most of the scents are light as well, in a good way.. u can definitely smell them but they’re not over powering, although gummy bear is pretty strong. I liked all of these balms, they’re very moisturizing and are made of all-natural ingredients. I gave these balms 5 lipsticks even though the first impressions of a couple of the balms weren’t the best. They definitely deserve 5 lipsticks now. I strongly recommend these and they’re worth the $3.95.

I'm a sucker for cute stuff so that's mainly why I tried these out. My two favorites so far are cosmopolitan and flirtini. Although they are cute, I wouldn't go out of my way to buy these. There is nothing especially unique about these balms other than the adorable packaging and the scents. The scents are great but once you put the balm on your lips you can't smell it. Actually you can hardly smell the scents when you put it on your finger to apply. I'm not super impressed with these balms by any means. They are moisturizing and they smell nice but that's about it. You could find a better balm at CVS. I think they draw people because of the cute vintage inspired tins, but they are quite a nuisance as dirt always manages to find a way into my balm. :/

I was really excited to get these because I love any type of lip gloss. I came out with mixed emotions about the product.

As far as feel goes, the glosses are really silky and last quite a long time. So that's really nice.

As far as flavor goes, I have to admit, I was expecting a bit more. From all the reviews I read about it I thought they would have a really noticeable flavor. I bought a few and while the majority of them do have a nice hint of flavor it's not as much as I thought they would.

The little tins are really cute and you get a good amount of gloss. I will definitely try some other flavors.

What I thought of the flavors:

"Peace of Mind" - A mint gloss which I could smell as soon as I opened the package. This is the most flavorful one out of the bunch. But If you are going for a really minty gloss, I would go with Origins.

"Lemonade" - The hint of flavor definitely tastes like a lemon. I really liked this one.

"Cosmopolitan" - I don't know if it's just me but I do not like this one at all. It leaves a taste in my mouth that is like I licked an ashtray.

"Green Apple" - This one was by far my favorite. The flavor really does taste like a green apple.

I've ordered 5 of these, Lemonade,BlackCherry,Cherry Cola,Caramel, and Gummy Bear. First off the packaging is sooo ducte. each flavor has its' own girl on the sliding tin. The scents are amazing I smelled my caramel right through the tin. Cherry Cola smells like wild cherry pepsi , gummy bear smells like gummy bear that really impressed me. I thought it was going to have that playdohy scent/taste like other balms thay claim they smell like gummy bear. The lemonade smells like minute maid and not that household lemony scent. caramel smells like warm caramel but its a little strong. The black cherry tastes like black cherry. Also the texture of these are AMAZING! feeling so buttery and creamy on my lips. These balms really do the work. i have really chapped lips and tried everything but once I put these suckers on BAM!!!! the chappedness lol is gone and lasts hours! Will I buy again of course. Also the price is fantastic for what the super high Quality of these balms are at $3.95

I was just digging through some of my lip products, and I found two of my Vintage Sister lip balms. I totally forgot I had these! I found: Frosting and Christmas Kiss. I grabbed the Christmas Kiss and slicked it on. Yum! It's a mixture of chocolate and peppermint. It reminds me of those Andes thin mints. The mint in it makes my lips sort of tingly... very nice.

The Frosting one is great, too. It's buttery and creamy, and makes me think of thick buttercream frosting on cakes. It's a really nice vanilla flavor.

Overall... I like these a lot. I remember some of the flavors smelling a little waxy, but it isn't bad. The texture is really nice, it's smooth, and not sticky or goopy. They sort of taste sweet, too. Not to mention, the packaging is so freakin' adorable! I love the little slider tins with the cute illustrations on the labels.

By the way, sign up for the newsletter on the Vintage Sister website (vintagesister.com). Every once in a while they have sales and promotions.

I need to buy some more of these now... LOL

I don't even have them yet! But I've done a lot of research on these and I bet they're amazing! I ordered Gummy Bear, Grape Soda, Cosmopolitan, Strawberry, Candy Cane, Gingerbread, Winter Mint. I'm looking forward to Gummy Bear the most since Pinkiecharm LOVES it. I'm so excited. I just ordered them yesterday and hopefully they come in pretty soon. In total, I paid $37.10 (including shipping) I live in British Columbia and the shipping is only $9 which is a fair price. Mind I say that these better be worth it :) But they're really cheap and they seem to smell nice, taste nice and moisturize well.

I think these lip balms are really smooth and moisturizing, and the flavors are awesome. The flavors can smell a bit too fake and waxy, though. The flavors I have are gummy bear, flirtini, green apple, lemonade, fruit punch, PB&J, and vanilla ice cream. (I found that Gummy Bear and Fruit Punch smell EXACTLY the same!) My favorite flavor would be green apple. The scent of the peanut butter & jelly kind of makes my stomach turn, though. Overall, I think these are great!

These come in 2 different categories, lip lickers and lip indulgences, lip lickers are meant for older people because these are the alcoholic one (martini) Lip Lickers on the other hand are the flavors that are old school and remind us of our youth (watermelon, cotton candy)

I think vintage sister does a wonderful job at these! I prefer the fruitier flavors i don't particularly like the chocolate flavors.

They are relatively smooth clear balms, great for the price

General description of product: These are lip blams in cute little vintage tins (like the slide tins they used to put lip balm in during the 70s and 80s!) and retail for $3.95. I bought them at www.vintagesister.com. There are both lip indulgences (currently has 18 flavors) and lip lickers (18 flavors) although I can't say I have any idea what the difference in the two is. It doesn't mention that or the ingredients on the site.
Ease of ordering: I had no difficulty ordering, and received my order quickly (about ten days) and it was accurate. I also ordered the elbow grease which I will review, and a few of the trios. I had no customer service problems and it was a good experience.
Review of product: The texture of these is not as soft or gooey as were the old style balms in tins from the 70s. They are nice on the lips, but not as smooth as other. Texture is similar to chapstick IMO. The flavors are fantastic however, and I love the packaging. It is so cute, and each flavor has an adorable picture on it of a vintage girl. I would buy them again.

My faaaaaaaaaaavorite lip balm. I think I'll ONLY use these now lol. They smell soooo good! After the balm sinks in and I lick my lips it tastes so good. I got Divatini, Strawberry, Green Apple, Gummy Bear, and Orange Cream. I love them all, but I don't like Orange Cream the most. I probably should've gotten Orange Dream (; Orange Cream does smell like like old orange popsicle (: but I'm just a bit younger so I like the sweeter smell. I love Strawberry, Green Apple, and Gummy Bear the best. They smell so good and strong, but not TOO strong. So good. Makes my lips soft and yummy all day. I love the tin slide packaging. I like how there are different girls for each balm and that its color coordinate with the flavor. I like how the balm looks like whipped cream. I prefer it over if it was flat and boring. Cute. They don't overcharge you for shipping (in the states at least). There is a flavor of the day for sale. net weight of .25OZ for $4. I don't have another lip balm to compare amount of produce and price ): sorries.

i just got my package today and i have fallen head over heels in love! i ordered blueberry cheesecake, vanilla ice cream, pink grapefruit, strawberry, and chai tea. my least favorite scent is blueberry cheesecake because it smells a bit like artificial blueberries and not a lot like blueberry cheesecake. strawberry and pink grapefruit smells like their respective flavors in those soft chewy candies. vanilla ice cream smells like a creamy vanilla and chai tea smells exactly like chai tea. it even has the creamy goodness of chai!! not only do these smell great, they are wonderfully moisturizing. this should not be a surprise because the ingredients are all wonderful moisturizers: soybean oil, beeswax, sunflower seed oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, vitamin E, natural sweetener, color, and fragrance.

not only does this lipbalm smell and taste fantastic, but it's also in SUPER SUPER cute packaging. it's a metal slide tin with a cartoon girl that matches the respective flavor.

the only downside is that the product contains no sunscreen, so i'm not sure i would use this as a daytime lip moisturizer.
