If you want to smell like a bar of soap then this is the perfume for you but it is definitely not for me.

Ivory soap. Period, end of tune. No musk, no powder no nothing else - don't expect anything else. It's okay - only if you want to smell exactly like sharp screachy ivory soap. Not for me - meh - I like softer soap scents.

As others have commented, this is a nice, simple, Ivory Soap-esque fragrance. I prefer this "soap and water" scent to Pure Grace or Clean - and the fact that it's much cheaper doesn't hurt! I think this is a nice scent for really casual days, or days when I can't quite make up my mind as to how I want to smell.

IVORY SOAP! Yay! I love, love, love the scent of Ivory soap, and have been searching seemingly forever for a perfume that mimics it.

Pure, upon the initial spray, is a dead ringer for Ivory soap. It stays pretty true, adding a hint of baby powder.

I will be hoarding this stuff- seriously- especially given the price point.

Pure is a very feminine, light, clean scent that's perfect for everyday use. It smells like a cross between baby powder and ivory soap. It's in no way musky or overdone. You won't smell all "perfumy" while wearing Pure. It quickly became one of my all-time favorites.

The only negative remark I can give is that it doesn't last throughout the day. It lasts about as long as your typical all-over body spray (like the kind from Bath & Body Works).

I love this stuff...I was skeptical about getting just because I got the Costa Rica Fragance and I like it but it just doesnt last long...so anyway I decided to get it and first of all I got it because on the catalog the scent was just so nice and clean..WELL it smells exactly like that..is crispy, fresh and specillay clean other reviewers say it smells like soap..yep it does but is there something wrong with that? NOPE not at all - all in all I will definately buy again...and it's more lasting than my other mark fragance....yay! ☺☺☺♥♥♥ - AH and I L♥VE THE PACKAGING..IS TOO CUTE!

I'm on my second bottle of this fragrance and I've added on the lotion this time. So, yes, I would buy it again.

This fragrance starts off as pretty much a pure, strong blast of lemon juice but quickly settles down to a close-to-the-skin white soap smell with a 2-3 hour staying power without the lotion.

It's an early morning Sunday-go-to-meeting fragrance. Clean and innocent as a child's first communion outfit. It serves a purpose in my fragrance line-up when I want to smell extra fresh and alive for a couple of hours in the morning. The bottle is rather nice and the price is right.

I love this fragrance! It does smell like Ivory soap, so I smell like I just stepped out of the shower which I like. I love to use it when I'm traveling, because it gives me that clean smell. I love the Mark body cream also, a little goes a long way unlike some creams that you have to goop on. I find myself grabbing this most of the time because it always suits the occasion. I have repurchased this several times and will continue to buy as long as Avon/Mark carries it.

It does smell like soap, but way too overpowering. It gave me a HORRIBLE head ache. I suppose you could use it if you were camping and couldn't shower....but I think it stinks.

Update: Not as bad as I first thought. The body cream is actually really nice. Just use with caution - it goes on strong...and I like strong fragrances.

As others hae said, this smells like white soap. It's not too sharp though, very fresh and clean. Similar to Philosophy's Pure Grace which I also like. The bottle is adorable, simple square glass with a frosty square glass top. It lasts longer than most mark/avon scents. I could still smell it slightly at the end of the day, a lingering soft, soapy smell. It's nothing unique or remarkable, just a non-offensive pleasant clean scent.

I thought it was Ivory soap. It's white soap, no matter how you look at it, and while that is definitely a clean scent, I don't know if it's technically 'pure'. Still, it would be fine for day/office wear. It isn't obtrusive, smelly or precisely cheap-smelling, though you will certainly smell clean. I'm not sure I want to smell like I've just bathed in white soap, though. That suggests too much of recent-shower, which might be too vivid a mental image for co-workers. I suppose it could be sexy in that fashion, but to me it's just Ivory Soap. Nice, but ultimately not really a perfume.

Two words: Dove Soap.

Mark's Pure is a pleasant, inoffensive soap scent. Unfortunately, it is lacking in strength and somewhat fleeting. The bottle is very cute, and while relatively inexpensive at $15, I think this one is worth about half.

I love this! My daughter always wants to cuddle up with me when I wear this. Lots of scents fade really fast on me for some reason, but I get at least 3-4 hours of great smelling. I paid $10 for this, and get better wear than my higher priced fragrances, will repurchase!

i swapped for this because i wasnt sure if i wanted to spend money on it and hate it. well, i ended up loving this little bottle of pure! it lasts waaaay longer than the clean fragrances on me; it even lasts longer on me than my missoni acqua (which actually kinda pisses me off-stupid missoni) at first yes it smelss weird, but after it smells fresh and clean w/o being too soapy and is a great pick me up. i will definitely repurchase! :D

I decided to order this on a whim, and boy, was it a great purchase! I love the soapy-clean smell, kind of with a hint of baby powder (not too strong, though). It's a great everyday fragrance and is not too overwhelming. Makes you smell like you just stepped out of the shower! The packaging is so cute too!-it's a petite cube bottle. The staying power is about 3 to four hours, not too long, but it's a good buy for the price. One of my new favorites!

This is a WINNER... and only $15!! It's about a million times better than the WAY-overpriced and highly-overrated CLEAN line. I was willing to give the "just-stepped-out-of-the-shower" genre one last try after several disappointments, and this is just the best. It goes on with a definite smell of Ivoy soap, but then settles to a light, warm floral. Love it, love it, love it!!!! My new "go-to" fragrance!

I LOVE this fragrance!!!
It smells clean and fresh, just like I stepped out of the shower.
It does not have the staying power of a real strong perfume which means I have to reapply. And reapplying means I'm using it up rather quickly. I wish it came in a bigger bottle and was more concentrated.
But hey, for $15 I'll just keep spraying it on!!!

i love this perfume
i have been on the search for a perfume that smells clean like soap because i just love that scent and i finally found it! the staying power of this perfume is not bad but is def worth it for the price. the scent is amazing i feel like i'm in the shower everytime i spray it!
