I love this. It really cleans up your look. I use it before adding any pencil/filler - once I've used the gel to brush my brows into their shape, I have a good idea of what needs filling along my natural brow shape. Doing it before pencil/filler also keeps the gel and wand clean! I would say it gives your brows a hold of around 8/10, it's not crispy, it's soft, but it does the job - the brows don't move around unless force is applied to them. I do like to put on a thorough amount to make sure it does its job. I think it's well worth the $30 - given it's an occasional purchase. I'd suggest trying it in store and wearing for a day to see what you think if you're not sure - won me over.

This is my HG brow gel and I always repurchase it. I always get it in clear and apply it last after filling in my eyebrows and it pretty much keeps my hair in place all day without being stiff. It is quite pricy for a clear eyebrow get but it lasts me year of daily use so is worth it for me.

Lately I've been very obsessed with my eyebrows. I think eyebrows can make or break your look. I used to never care about my brows but since I started wearing foundation, I just felt the need to groom my brows. I used to only fill them in with a brown eyeshadow, specifically Urban Decay's Secret Service, then leave the house. However, halfway through the day, I would catch a glimpse of my brows and the hairs are pointed down. I figured I needed something to keep the hairs in place! I bought this at a MAC counter at The Bay for around $20CDN in the shade Show Off for my black hair. It's pretty pricey since some may argue that you can just use a brown mascara or a clear mascara. I personally haven't tried using mascara for my brows because all my mascaras are darkest black. I may try it when I run out of this. Overall, I really like this brow gel because it locks in my brows in place and gives them a lighter tint. I just wish it's not so expensive though! But I guess it will be worth it because this tube will last me years? We'll see!

It gets quite grubby over time, but it lasts aaaages.

Great product.
I use the clear version over bare eyebrows.
Just perfect. It keeps your brows in place in the shape you want all day.
One of the best MAC products ever!
Clean the brush after apply (with a tissue) Otherwise the gel in the bottle will turn "dirty looking" ...

I used to use this all the time. I've been using pencils lately but, since I've gone blonde I don't want my brows any darker than they are. I've been thinking of buying again cause it does so well.

My quest for a brow tamer may be over. I bought this in clear and really like that it goes on with out a mess, dries quickly but doesn't leave my brows feeling crispy and it doesn't leave my brows looking like they are glued together. In fact, they have a flexible feel to them but they stay put throughout the day.
I've tried several other gels and a few waxes and they were either too firm or didn't hold at all. The other problem I've had with other products is flakiness late in the day. I don't really need to have a dandruff look with my eyebrows!
This doesn't flake, looks nice and holds from early morning to whenever I wash my face.
The tube is also clear so I can see how much product is left and from the looks of it, this tube should last for a good while. I will probably repurchase when it runs out.

WOW! I love this - I'm just so annoyed I never discovered this gem of a product years ago.
Just recently I had become unhappy with my brows so I thought I would buy some products to try and remedy this. I purchased the MAC eyebrow pencil and this and they have been the best makeup purchases I have ever made. Using both has just 'pulled together' my look and sets off the rest of my makeup so well.
I initially wanted to buy the MAC eyebrow wax (MAC Brow Finisher) but my local MAC counter doesn't stock it. Previously I had been against using a gel as I thought it would be noticeable and would make my eyebrows look 'crispy' or wet but the sales girl talked me into buying the gel and I'm so happy she did.
I used to lightly go over my brows with the eyebrow pencil then apply the gel. However, I now prefer to use the gel to get my eyebrows into a nice shape then use the pencil and finish with another application of gel.
This gel holds my eyebrows in shape all day without flaking and looks very natural - can't even tell I have gel on, just makes my brows look so groomed and perfect. Even if I don't use the pencil to fill my eyebrows in just using the gel alone improves the look of my brows so much. And I find that using it with pencil makes the pencil blend in better and look way more natural.

i love this product.. i apply it first then wait until it completly dries then fill them in with MACs eyeshadow Brun. i do this because if i first fill them in then if i apply this it makes my eyebrows weird so i rather do it the other way around.

Best brow gel I have tried so far. It hold the shape of my brows throughout the entire day! It doesn't look "gelled" if you don't put on more then two swipes on each brow. After I set my brows, I find it easier to fill in. The clearness of the gel may turn dull overtime if the brush touches some eye-shadow, pencil liner etc. But it still works fine.

This product I did not like.
My eyebrow hairs tend to get long, real fast. I like to keep them looking neat. I tried several eye brow gels, and eventually I tried this one from MAC.
Now, it will hold your eye brow hairs in place throughout the day, but you could always tell my eyebrows were 'gelled'. No matter what brand of eye brow gel I would use, I could never get them not to look like that. In addition, the wand you us to apply the eye brow gel will pick up other products over time (e.g. foundation), and eventually the eye brow gel will become cloudy and wouldn't go on clear anymore.
The MAC brow set would do all the same negative things outlined above, but there's an additional negative thing about it that I didn't find with other eye brow gels: after having it for a few months, the product started to smell extremely alcohol like. As soon as I would take the wand out to apply it, there would be this overwhelming alcohol smell, just like when you open a bottle of rubbing alcohol. What's worse was that I still had a lot of product in there. The tube was still, at least, 80% full.
I find I get much better results with eye brow wax pencils. They tend to look more natural on the brow, and they will never discolour.
If you prefer eye brow gels, I would suggest not getting the MAC one. You will get just as good results using a clear mascara, and you won't have to fork out a ton of money for it. You also won't have to put up with that horrible alcohol smell.

I really like this! I wanted something that lasted the whole day without me needing to worry about my brows, which has a tendency to "drop". I chose this colourless variant because I don't have particularly thick brows, and thought that the other types may look to obvious on me.
I've tried different brow sets - I hate using the ones that are waxy - you actually feel the wax.... all the time.... on your face! Ew! This is actually neither sticky not thick when applied, but dries nicely. This is like a mascara for the brows - yes it feels a bit crispy on, but it actually holds my brows in place through all the emotions I express with them, the whole day. Yes, it smells pretty bad, but the smell goes away fast, and if you don't react to the product, that should be totally fine. Very good brush, by the way - grabs all of the brows.

My review is for the clear brow set. This is one of the best products in my huge makeup stash and a daily staple that I reach for EVERY DAY. I'm definitely more low maintenance when it comes to makeup compared to how I used to be (meaning I don't take 30 minutes anymore to do a dramatic eye daily and an entire face of makeup), but one thing is a daily must for me and that's having a nice, groomed brow.
I know people who have used this and complained it makes their brows feel "crispy" but not me. One swipe is enough for both eyebrows and I take care not to apply too much. The result is a nice, defined and groomed brow. Even if nothing else is on my face, my brows look polished all day. And the feeling of a polished brow lasts all day and into the night too. I have repurchased this several times and will continue to, just because it's one of those products that I can't live without!

Thought this was the answer to all my brow problems, but this stuff stinks. Literally, it stinks; It has some awful perfume-y stink to it. Worse, I had a lovely allergic reaction to the stuff and my face swelled up and turned red and splotchy. It's probably fine if you don't have sensitive skin or fragrance allergies. Otherwise, stay far away from this.

I LOVE this product!!! The wand picks up a good amount of product so you're not wasting, but also have plenty to work with. A few quick swipes through the brows followed by a few seconds of dry time, and you're good to go: brows instantly look more groomed and well put together. An accident as a kid left the inside of my left brow growing differently, but this completely disguises it! I believe that "eyebrows are sisters, not twins", but the more orderly appearance definitely helps finish your FOTD.
The price is right in line with most MAC, at $15/tube. It comes in four colors (in order from lightest to darkest): clear, Girl Boy, Beguile, and Show-off, to help match individual coloring. I personally use clear, and go through a tube ever 6-8 months, if that, so definitely a great value!

This is my HG right here. I have long, dark, sparse brows that mess up REALLY easily and I can very quickly look like a crazy person. This stuff really keeps them in place, unless I have my bangs sweeping over them too much (but that happens with all products). I have only ever tried 4 products....maybelline...terrible...too liquidy........ caryl baker...amazing, but the store is too out of the way for me and no B2M....covergirl professional...ok, but it really cakes up my foundation/brow color and makes the brows look pasty. I will buy this forever :) Have never tried the tinted and wont ever try it because its inevitable to get some gel on your skin (thats how I plaster those babies on!! haha)

I love Browset, it works wonders for my brows and keeps them in place all day. It doesn't flake, doesn't make make my brows crisp or hard. It's nice stuff, but I think I'll stick to my clear Great Lash, it's easier on the wallet.

I have fairly wild eye brows...they never stayed put!! So i asked around and then i discovered the MAC brow set. The woman selling it to me described it as a "hair spray for eye brows" she had me sold!!! and whats more...she wasn't lying :)) The reason i didn't give this a 5 is because it goes a mucky brown colour which doesn't look nice :( but it is amazing and i can c myself buying this over and over again :D
