This one was a disappointment. The various photos I'd seen around the web really got my hopes up about Flying Dragon, but I felt pretty let down. Mine's not as purple as everyone's photos seem to show, so maybe I got a bad batch. Mine is a bold magenta-leaning semi-purple with blue and red glitter. Unique in my book. Knowing that neons are generally matte, this polish still felt extremely odd with a matte finish. Not the easiest to apply either, so you've got to work quickly. (I'm thinking I'm just not a matte finish person.) Anyway, a shiny top coat works wonders for it, but it still seems to lack the depth I thought it would have. Like most mattes, it chips quite easily after a day or two, which is kind of a hassle. Meh, maybe I'm just feeling bitter... but I'm sure there'll come a time where I'll try this on again.

I bought this for summer since it's a bright neon purple color, I like to change it up from oranges, blues, and reds. I really love the color, though mine does not look as true purple as the picture on the previous posters. I would describe it as more magenta with blue shimmer. It does dry matte (which I think looks horrible on me), but I apply Seche Vite dry fast top coat and it just shines. It looks very "squishy" with 2-3 coats and is a very easy application. I think most mattes are. I like China glaze, but I'm not real fond of the bottle...My favorite bottle is Nicole. It's just easier for me to handle when applying. That's the reason for the 3. I would buy this again. It's a fun color.

This is my first time writing a review for nail polish. I was really surprised by how many negative reviews for this polish there were and I wanted to add a positive one.
First, the bottle is clearly marked on the bottom as neon. I don't know if this is a feature that only newer bottles have, but it's WELL known that all neons dry matte. It is not the fault of the polish or China Glaze that you as a consumer can't be bothered to look at the bottom of the bottle or do your research.
Anyway, the version of Flying Dragon I have is the very red-based purple version. In the bottle it's very vibrant and there are reddish and blue glitters throughout. I found the formula to be really easy to work with, with no cuticle drag or pulling at the tips. It was the perfect consistency, pleasantly thick and not drippy at all.
It took three coats to get full opacity. This polish dries extremely quickly, like most mattes do, but I found it even easier to apply it because by the time I finished putting on one coat, the nails were dry and ready for the second.
The matte color is a pretty dark, murky purple, and pretty gritty. I actually think it's a pretty interesting color but I wouldn't wear it like that because it's too prone to chipping.
Once you put on a topcoat (like you should always do to extend the life of your manicure!) the color transforms to be pretty much exactly like the bottle color - maybe a shade darker - and the glitter becomes much more prominent. It's a unique, extremely pretty shade and if I ever run out of my bottle I will definitely repurchase.
The reason this got a 4/5 is because I used two coats of topcoat and it's still vaguely textured. If that doesn't bother you, great, but if it does be aware. Also, on the end of my nails it's extremely gritty because I wrap the tips and the topcoat just couldn't deal with it. It looks great unless you get super up close and personal with it, but I am a perfectionist so it's probably my issue alone.
All in all this is a pretty fantastic polish and the people who are so shocked and disgusted it was matte really need to do their research!

I love this colour. I don't think I've seen a nail polish like it before so I had to snap it up. I think I might have the pinkier version but I can't be sure because colours like this don't photograph very accurately. None of the swatches that I've seen look at all like my bottle does applied to the nail.
After wearing this a few times I have increased my score. It needs a couple of coats of a shiny top coat to really bring it out, but now I've worked the application out I love it. I still don't think the glitter is completely necessary but I no longer loath it.

Right now I have this on my toes and I don't want to take it off. I guess this is one of those colors that has different versions. I have the version that says neon on the label. At first I was leery because when I put it on it didn't look anywhere near the color in the bottle. As soon as I put on the top coat it went from ugly duckling to beautiful. this has become one of my favorite colors.

The color in the bottle is amazing which makes it even more disappointing that the application is such a nightmare. Its matte which I expected, but the application is rough not smooth at ALL. The nail polish gets very clumpy on the nails especially after applying more than one coat, which you will need to do because its streaky. I hate that I hate this polish because the color is amazing but I would steer clear from this color. It sucks!

I'm giving this a two simply because I love the colour of this in the bottle and on my nails. It makes them look longer, and it flatters my skin tone. I didn't really have a problem with the application; three coats gave me a beautiful colour that didn't look messy or smudged.
I went to bed, woke up and pieces of it have been falling off in huge chunks all day. It's chipped and looks terrible. I'm really disappointed because I love the colour. But not if it means I have to re-apply at the end of every day.

I adore the shade of Flying Dragon. It's basically a neon medium purple with microglitter. The application on this is perfection and consistency as with all my ChG Polishes is perfection. Never too thin or too thick. I haven't had any issues on this one with chipping as others have mentioned.
While I love the color, the only slight disadvantage this polish has is that it dries semi-matte. Not a huge issue since i always use a top coat, I just wish it had a glossier finish. Worth it though, as I love the shade, and even in my stash of 900+ shades, this is surprisingly unique. Overall, I love it!

This nail polish is a stand out. Blue and pink micro glitter are suspended in its warm, reddish-purple base. The glitter isn't too noticeable, which only adds to it's charm, in my opinion. Indoors the color is dark purple, but outdoors it shows its true neon nature. I wear it with and without the top coat, it's funky looking either way. It's a fun polish and I really love it!

China Glaze polish in Flying Dragon (0.50 fl oz for $5.99) is a shimmering bright purple polish. Flying Dragon contains pink and blue medium size shimmers that add a dimension to the polish. It also applies sheer within the 1st application, I need 3 coats to get the opaque color shown in the bottle. Once the polish is dry, it becomes matte and lifeless not like the color shown in the bottle. The staying power is mild, even with Seche Vite's rapid top coat on, it only last about 4 days on my nails. For a bright, purple try another of CG polishes because they do make great polishes but not with the Flying Dragon.

I definitely was not happy with my purchase, it chipped within hours with my poshe top coat and that was BOTH times I've used it. Very disappointed in this one... I was hoping for so much more, but the color was a lot darker on the nail then in the bottle. Am I the only one this chipped on day 1 for? Would not reccommend.

This is not as dark purple as the above pic.
It is more like the last pic(at least on my screen and my fair skin)
It has little glitters of blue/pink/purple etc.
And to the all the silly reviewers below, who gave this lower ratings because they were SHOCKED that it dried MATTE/DULL/FLAT.................C'MON MY SISTERS! ;)
ALL NEONS DRY MATTE!!!! So, the low ratings for that reason, is not fair! ;) lol!
Just add a TOP COAT...... (just like you "should do" for all lacquers, to protect and make them last longer).......and its all good, LOL!
Now you need to be fast with applying all Neons(cuz they dry almost immediately) and use a good gripping base and top coat (it also has a rough like surface, from all the glitter, without a top coat applied)and this should be good for ya. :)

I love the color, but this stuff is kind of difficult to apply nicely because it dries fast like a neon or a matte and that means I sometimes end up with a kind of weirdly clumpy-streaky finish even though the coverage is opaque.
That said, with a top coat it is gorgeous, and seems to wear well for me. I'm just not sure that with the application trouble and the glitter issue with removal, it's a color I need to replace in my personal collection if I use it up. It's pretty dark on me, too, so it's not a color I turn to often - that's probably also a factor.

I rated this polish a 4 instead of the 5 it would've received if the color after 2 coats looked the same as the bottle itself. I'm surprised at the coloring in the pics that are with the reviews because they look like true purple, whereas on me, this polish is almost a plum wine color with a hint of glitter. It's still a beautiful shade that you don't really see that often. I would buy this color again, but I will probably use it more often in the fall.
I think this was the first time I'd been remotely let down with a China Glaze polish. I typically cannot brag about this company enough. I realize how popular OPI is but I think China Glaze is above them.
Also, some of the reviewers seemed surprised that this polished dried matte. ALL neons dry this way, but once you apply a topcoat they look great.

This is a matte neon purple with purple and blue glitter in it. I really like this color. It's one of the most unique purples I have in my collection right now.
I will say that it looks different on my nails, than when it's in the bottle. In the bottle, it looks like there's more pink in it, but when it dried on my nails, it looked more blue. Also the glitter doesn't really show up as much. I wasn't surprised when it dried matte (that's what neons do), and with the application of a topcoat, it looked beautiful.
Because there is glitter in this polish, it's a little work to get it off, but other than that I don't have any complaints.

This polish...was a disappointment for me. In the bottle it is so beautiful A bright neon purple with pink, purple, and blue shimmers, but on the nail... not so much. Its still a very pretty polish, but the glitter disappears on the nail, and it looks much darker and less neon than it does in the bottle. Also, because the polish is a neon its going to dry matte unless you add a topcoat. I think its very silly when people complain about neons drying matte. It has nothing to do with the company making it or the formula, that is just always a component of matte polishes because of the way the pigment works. So, while I do like the color, it isn't what I was expecting and I wouldn't purchase it again

I love this purple neon. It does dry matte so I always put a high gloss tc over it. It is a bright neon purple with blue sparkles inside.
The only issue I had with this polish is that it was hellish to get off b/c of the sparkles.

This polish was lovely in the bottle when I bought it, and it was just what I wanted-- A pretty neon shiny purple with a GLOSSY finish. But after putting on three coats, it was a gross dark purple matte. Didnt want matte. Will not be purchasing this again.

What a beautiful color! At first I thought yuk with the first coat. Then put on a second coat. It's a Matte finish, but I put on a top coat and then instant dry polish and it is shiny and bright!
It has blue sparkles in it. The purple is neon purple. I love the color. Have had it on for 3 days and no chips yet. China Glaze is not one of my favs since it does chip quickly but this time I think I found one that will go on my fav list.
I wont wear it without a top coat. It is just too dull and lifeless.
