In general, this has been my favorite mascara, but I think it's because I like the comb applicator vs a brush. It doesn't clump and I can separate my eyelashes very easily. It lasts about 3 months and you know it's time to get a new tube when it begins to clump. I wouldn't call it "high definition" though.

This stuff is terrible. Even as a rep for Cargo, I have to say it. If someone is showing interest in it, I steer them towards another of the Cargo mascaras. The applicator is difficult to use, the formula is not curling, volumizing, or lengthening, and it dries out really fast. it has no good qualities at all. Creates spiky, thin, straight lashes. Don't buy this mascara. I recommend the Triple Action mascara (I love this one, almost makes my eyelashes too curly), or the Better-Than-Waterproof mascara (a favourite of my mother's actually. She compares it to one she had a long time ago by covergirl that she loved: LushLash I believe).

I was actually surprised by the product and the type of brush, which is more of a comb than a brush. I was doubtful at first, but it does define the lashes and make them look longer, not fuller and thicker, but longer. The formulation does not smudge on me, even on very humid days. Overall I was rather satisfied. Not my HG, but a good mascara. It does not give you the false lash look, but a very natural look, your lashes but better.

Another useless product in my makeup stash. I got this in the blu-ray set at Sephora. I don't normally stray from my favorite mascara (Max Factor Lash Perfection Volume Couture) but since it's being discontinued in the US I might as well find something that will work for me when I run out of my remaining bottles. The mascara brush is actually a comb with brushes on one side. Let me just say...I HATE mascaras with this applicator. It does nothing but leave clumps of product on my lashes. I thought it being an HD mascara it would maintain somewhat of a curl. Even though I curled my lashes, once I put this product on my lashes drooped back down! To make it worse, this isn't even waterproof. I can't even use this on my lower lashes. I didn't bother keeping this. To the trash it goes.

I love this mascara! I love the comb that leaves absolutely no clumps behind. It streches my lashes almost all the way to my eyebrows. I find it hard to use on bottom lashes and do use it along with a mascara with a traditional brush.

there are better mascaras out there. this was disappointing. there wasn't really anything 'hi-def' about it. it still clumped on me, too. the comb was neat, but i'd rather have a traditional brush.

First, let me say, I got this in a swap. I love mascara and tend to try most of them. This mascara has its good points, and it's weak points, like all things in life.

Description: This mascara is touted as an "extreme definition". Part of the bly-ray collection. Not waterproof, not even water resistant. Wand is a thinly shaped "blade" that has a comb on one side.

Pros:
The weird applicator separates and places the lashes in place. It gives well defined lashes and helps with color and length.

Cons:
Applicator is hard to use. I, at all times, felt as if I could poke my eye out at any time. It looks like a knife, fer goddsake!! Gives no volume at all. Feels chalky on the lashes.

Thank God for swapping because I would never buy this. I like wand mascaras like Maybelline Lash Stylist, but this is just ridiculous, and the formula doesn't make up for it.

I'll probably use it a few times and then toss it just for it's pure frustration level alone.

Why did I let the SA talk me into this, she was wearing falsies!? Two and a half weeks of NYC rain, snow, sun, wind and my usual bleary-eyed sensitivity to everything and this is going back.

I bought as an evening version of my HG Clinique Naturally Glossy. I have thick, long, curled off-black lashes and only want separation and deep color, a very sexy my-eyes-always-look-this-amazing-I-know-not-of-makeup look.

Initial results were nice, great separation, and some length dramatic, but not science fiction, soft, not crunchy and almost no clumping due to comb.

Pro: The comb as wand cuts a step between application with the typical brush and straightening unruly, long lashes like mine with a separate comb. The head is small, and the teeth are on the finer side, great especially for bottom lashes.

Con: The color black looks more like a charcoal on the wand and off black on lashes. There's a litter of flakes beneath my eyes by end of day and the color smudges after a few hours. $20 is also way too much for an average finish like this gave.

Lippies off for amateur quality, lackluster color and especially the price.

I don't hate this mascara, but it isn't going to kick my Chanels out of bed. Blu Ray mascara is my mom's HG and she has great taste so I tried it. I can see why it works for her, and I will continue to use this one another two months, but I won't rebuy.
Pros: the black is not too intense, which is good because I normally don't wear black mascara. So if you are looking for a really black mascara, you need to keep on truckin. It works on my mom because it adds a bit of definition and nice long lashes without being dewy and shiny. We both have thick lashes and only need help in length. Another pro is the comb brush. I actually use it like a japanese mascara and scrap off the excess and apply using the flat end. It doesn't get crunchy or clumpy and only flakes towards the end of the day (normal).
Cons: Only one. Any water in your eyes- allergy, crying, hot weather, whatever, and this is raccoon city. I don't generally wear wp mascara and with my normal tearing up (sneezing, allergies), my HGs stay on fine (Chanel Exceptionnel, Chanel Inimitable) without running. That is the only thing stopping me from a rebuy- otherwise this is a decent mascara and I love how soft and lush my lashes feel with it on. If you use a primer or have less sensitive eyes, or another tactic for making mascara not run, this could be a great mascara. It is also a great "black" mascara for people with lighter lashes who normally wear brown mascara and want a smidge extra drama.
Update March 09: Up from three to four lippies. I do have to add steps to my routine (putting primer under my eyes and not just on the lid) but I have to say, nothing beats this mascara for giving believeable but long, separated, lush lashes. The no-crunchy look just blows me away. So 4 lippies because I do love it, but it doesn't get five because of the potential raccoon look without primer.

I got this as a bargain in the three piece set and couldn't be happier with it. I love how it makes my eyelashes look really long, although it doesn't help much with thickness. It has an amazing smell to it that I can smell throughout the day. My only gripe is that I often notice little black smudges underneath my eyes that people probably don't notice, but I do. If this stuff was smudge-proof I would buy this forever.

I got this as part of the 3pc kit. I will never purchase this individually. I like the concept of the comb applicator, but the mascara does nothing for my lashes. I have long lashes, but I need volume. If you have lush, thick lashes, then this might work for you. If you are looking for any volume, then you should pass. I have bought drug-store mascaras that are much better than this one. I am usually a big fan of Cargo. This was a real let-down.

I, too, was surprised at the bad reviews for this one, but I think if you need extra help with your lashes, you may want to pass this one up. It doesn't have any fibers or anything like that in it to lengthen or thicken. That said, if you have nice lashes to begin with, this will enhance them beautifully. It's a creamy formula, but not too creamy, and it has a comb applicator rather than a brush. After 3 or 4 coats I had a superb false lash look. It evenly distributes my lashes as I comb it in, so I don't end up with those gaps or lashes sticking together at the tips. My lashes look like a Barbie doll when I use this one. The other amazing part about it is that it does not flake or smear whatsoever-- but it removes very easily with warm water. You'll still need to use eye makeup remover, but you'll use a lot less.... Again, if you need a lot of help for your lashes, you should probably skip it. I have good lashes to begin with, so YMMV. For me it is my HG and I will definitely buy it again in spite of the price.

I like this mascara, although not enough to purchase it again. It's not a traditional brush, but rather, a comb. I find that combs prevent clumping, and really distribute the mascara evenly, as well as help to separate the lashes. There's certainly nothing extravagant about this mascara, so the "high definition" promise is a bunch of marketing silliness, in my opinion, but it's not a bad mascara at all. It just doesn't do anything a cheaper mascara doesn't do better.

I am suprised at all the bad reviews. I really like this mascara a lot. It doesn't make my lashes look clumpy, and the little comb seperates so well. I apply two coats and it makes my lashes look so great!

I'm surprised at how many of u don't like it. I think it's best for people like me with short sparse lashes. The very thing some people don't like about it is what I love about it; the comb. It separates my lashes, provides good color, and never globs. So easy to use in a rush.

Easily the worst mascara ever. Did do a thing except provide something to melt onto my face after a few hours so I look like I've been beat up. Shame on anyone for charging for this junk.

I got this in the cargo blu ray set. I didn't like it at first, but since I have it and you can't swap a used mascara, I played with it some more and now I think it's ok...Basically, for my top lashes, it doesn't provide enough color or volume. I like it for the bottom lashes because all my volumizing mascaras have huge brushes and this tiny little comb is great for reaching the bottom lashes. The problem with using it just on the bottom though is it leaves black marks on the skin under your eyes by the end of the day or after a visit to the gym. In order to avoid this problem, I have used this mascara and then topped it w/ clarins sealant. So, this is a lot of effort to get this mascara to work for me and that is why I wouldn't buy it separately. If you don't want a dramatic look, just defined lashes, you might like this.

I absolutely love this mascara.
When I first purchased it I was a little thrown by the different brush and had to play a bit to figure out the best application techniques, but had fun discovering all of the options it provides!
The little comb separates the lashes beautifully while providing full even coverage.
For a doe like lighter look I use just the comb part on bare lashes (no primer).
For a dramatic full and thick look I use the closed side of the wand to apply more product then use the comb side to separate and evenly spread the mascara.
For an everyday office appropriate look I use a lash primer and the comb side.
It does not smudge and lasts all day.
I gave it four lippies because of the different wand which could take some people a bit to figure out.
I will definitely buy this mascara again!

Came highly recommended at Sephora. I like the brush... well, comb actually. It did work to separate my lashes, but it didn't hold the shape as long as others I've used. The color payoff isn't great IMO, and if I added another coat it got clumpy. The biggest downfall for me was the fallout - by a few hours later I had black on the skin under my eyes, and I only applied it to the top lashes - something I don't experience with other mascars. It seems a lovely product for someone, but just not for me - so I returned mine.

This mascara comes in a Blue Ray High Definition kit by Cargo. The problem is in the applicator, its a tiny comb, not a spiral brush. The application is awkward, the result are clumpy lumpy lashes. High Definition my eyes, even someone with cataracts will notice the problem. Its a good thing this is a limited edition product.
