This is beautiful. I'd had my eye on it for months, and when a Sephora finally opened up in my town, I went on a lemming spree and ended up with this stick gloss. I fully recognize that it's ridiculously expensive, but lip products are like some kind of affliction for me--I don't know if I'll ever recover. Anyway, the packaging is not just beautiful, but functional too. NO concerns about the cap coming off in my bag. The product has a nice cosmetic-y scent that I wasn't expecting and don't mind, though I don't actively LIKE it either. It applies like a dream and you don't need a mirror, which is a big plus for me. It wears...ok. I guess I'd say I needed to apply it maybe 5 times during the average workday. Not fabulous, but I'm ok with that. The color is a gorgeous neutral-to-cool mauve; it's non-sticky, with a sheen rather than a shine, and it's really beautiful. The reason I only gave it 3 lippies despite the fact that there are many things I love about it is that it seemed to dry my lips out over the course of the day. I HATE this in a lip product, and something that costs this much should NOT dry me out! It wasn't awful, as some are, in that it didn't cause a huge flake-fest and a rash around my lips, but it was bad enough that I was chewing on my lower lip by quitting time. I'll keep wearing it because it's a sensual dream, but I'll have to put petrolatum on underneath. I won't buy any other stick glosses from this line, either.

EDIT 5/25: Ended up swapping this. It irritated my lips more than I could tolerate.

God I love this product. It's a bit expensive at $29 US which is the only reason I dinged it one lippie.

I really like lip color that is something between a gloss and a full-on lipstick. Glosses tend to be too shimmery for me, sticks too creamy. This product is much closer to a lipstick than a gloss, but it isn't overpowering, and it has good staying power for something that feels so good. Just a tidge of gloss shine. Better staying power than my fave BeneFIT lipsticks.

It has a slight taste to it that some might not like. I can't quite identify it.

The color is beautiful. I love violet inspired colors that are dark but subtle, and this one takes the cake. It's violet, but not overpowering, and it's not so dramatic that it can be only worn at night. It's still a little light-hearted. Most definitely violet. Hard to describe. Go try it...
