I was truly excited to try this product as it promised to do this and that and everything. I live in Norway, there the climate is cold and the air is dry, so I saw this as a great product for my lips, but then again no.. I only gave the same effect as any other cheap lip balm, like the ones from Nivea, Lypsyl etc. The bottom who feeds the top with balm has a tendency to live a life of it's own, so suddenly there is a lot of balm in at the top when I open it.. The smell and taste is o.k., but the product does not do as it promises. Disappointing! Carmex is cheaper and much better in my oppinion..

I bought this product a little over 3 weeks ago and it is gone! Paid almost $30 for it and that was with a family discount. I have fairly normal skin and use a lip balm mostly in the colder weather. I use Dermalogia products exclusively and thought this would be up to D's usual standards. Not so, in fact the only thing I like about it is there is no perfume or minty taste to it. It is very thick feelling and my lips are dried out within a couple of hours of applying it; reapplication doesn't help. It reminded me so much of vaseline that I decided to see what the difference would be...almost none. The vaseline is actually a bit thinner and seems to moisturize more effectively. Hugely dissapointed, especially after reading all the good reviews and paying all that money.

I've been using a sample of this product for over a week & a half now. It goes on very smoothly and makes my lips initially feel great but an hour or two later my lips feel extremely dry. I don't have this problem w/using Kiehl's #1 Balm so I think I will stick with that. Too bad because I love Dermalogica products.

I had recently worried about the little fan of "smoker's wrinkles" on my upper lip even if I have never smoked. Looked awful. So guess if I was surprised when they practically disappered after using only a sample of this product!! So of course I bought one too and I'm amazed at the effect it had on the wrinkles! Great stuff!

Ok, I pretty much made an account just to review this product. I am a recovering lip balm addict, I have lip balms overflowing out of every pocket and purse. That being said, I will gladly fork over the $20+ for Dermalogica's Renewal Lip Complex. I received a tiny sample version first and just purchased my first full-sized product, and the packaging is awesome. It is a little sticky to apply, but my lips are still SUPER soft HOURS after application/eating/drinking/yapping my trap. I am obsessed with my lips and I will purchase this time and time again!!

I will NEVER be without this. I have tried every Chapstick, lip balm, lip gloss - you name it - under the sun. Nothing compares to this for my constantly chapped lips. While other treatments had to be worn 24/7 to keep my lips smooth, I only have to apply this once at night before bed and once in the morning to get lasting softness. This doesn't cause my lips to feather or peel like other lip balms can do. It just moisturizes them. Period. The skin that was once dry and chapped on my lips is softened instantly and overnight my lips look soft and normal with no skin sloughing off. I love this stuff. After being disappointed time and again by products claiming to heal chapped lips, I've finally found my HG.

This is more of a lip TREATMENT than a balm, I think - it's one of the few Iip moisturisers that actually repairs problem lips rather than coating them with a layer of gunk that has little deep down effect.

I used to be blessed with lips that seldom dried out, and certainly never to the degree that a few swipes of vaseline and drinking more water couldn't fix them. Recently stress gave me really dried out skin and lips (I had a ring of dry skin on the outer rim of my lips that just wouldn't budge despite me trying tons of balms from my stash). I remembered that this had come with my glossybox a while back and decided to give it a try. VERY glad that I did. Sure, I don't adore the texture, and it doesn't give me shiny lips (just moisturized looking) but I do trust this to sort out minor dryness immediately, and more pronounced dryness over a few days of regular use. I have TONS of lipbalms (vaseline, rosebud salve, kiehls, lancome, eight hour cream, figs & rouge etc) so I am hoarding my sample to use only in times of need, so I can concentrate on using up all the tubes and pots clogging up my dresser and handbags, but if I ever finish them all, this is the one I'd rebuy.

Not sure what to rate this, is it a miracle? I don't know. What I do know is: 1) No lanolin (a plus for me) 2) It makes my lips feel moisturized and look better...not the waxy coating feeling of most lip balms nor the glorified Vaseline feeling 3) Very convenient packaging 4)Overpriced (the one con) 5) Did not irritate my hyper sensitive lips.

As far as "lip treatments" I like it...not going to replace a quick balm swipe. But might be a good moisturizer for the lips. I use mine about 3x a day (morning, night and maybe once in the middle of the day).

I got a sample of this in my GlossyBox and loved it so much I purchased the full size. Yes, it is expensive but I still love it. The packaging is very unique and the way it moisturises my lips is fantastic. I won't use anything else for a while!

For this price (AUD $30), you have to be joking. Over time I have found it to be no better than cheaper products like Carmex. Would not buy again - especially at this price.

I had high expectations for this product. For the price and the amount of product you got, I used this sparingly and only at night time.

It is quite thick in consistency and smells fruity but yet a little artificial. Not a scent I would say I really liked but it didn't bother me to the extent that I wouldn't use it.

I didn't feel it made any difference to my lips that I didn't see when compared with other lip balms I have tried. I found that when I applied it, it kind of sat on top of my lips. I could feel a thick silicone type texture just sitting on top of my lips. I think I may have just got a bad tube as the other reviews have raved about this product. I think I will stick with my lanolips for now.

good stuff but i only use at night before bed. i consider this a lip treatment before sleeping instead of wearing it as a chapstick. well, thats the way my esthetician has been using it on me for the past decade so i followed suit when i bought my own. smells wonderful. i put it on, go to sleep and my lips are plump and soft in the morning. wish more product came with it. when i came to my last twist, i had to dismantle the entire thing to get at the last remaining bits. i used a q-tip to scrape it out and kept it in a ziplock to keep it from drying out. havent bought it in awhile but since seeing these reviews it reminded me to do so. :)

This stuff is like lip crack, seriously! And that's not a title I bestow to many products by far but after trying everything following a bad reaction to lip balm that dried my lips out completely, this was the only thing that worked & INSTANTLY I felt the difference. It smells like Skittles & tastes good too in my opinion but makes your lips sooooo soft & conditioned. Too many products out there make lips feel coated on the outside but this makes lips feel conditioned at a deeper level. It's pricey no doubt & if you're an avid loser of lip balm (GUILTY), it can run out faster than you'd like considering the price tag but damn if it ain't worth it!

This is a magical product! It smooths, plumps and moisturises, it is honestly a saviour especially in the winter months when I often get sore, chapped lips.

It has been a LONG, Long time since I've written a review. This product COMMANDED that i do just that.
whoa!! I havent had good thing to say before about this product line. Demalogica hasnt ever been a favorite in any way with any product. This lip renewal was a free sample at my beauty supply store. I am sooooo glad that I tried it! It is by FAR & LARGE the BEST lip treatment I have ever tried in my 40 years of trying everything. Im off to Ebay it and find the full size product for myself. I will NEVER be without this in my arsenal of "Must Haves".
For all those dermalogica haters..like me, THIS IS THEIR ONE HG!

I have to say I am amazed at the reviews for this one. This is one of my least favorite dermalogica product. I have dry lips and have been looking for the HG lip treatment/protector for a long time: you name it I've probably tried it, from Shiseido lip treatment to Carmex, via neutrogena and dermalogica!

I really love dermalogica products and have almost their entire range-no joke-, and had high expectations for this, but no dice, the consistency is too thick, and just sits on my lips, and doesn't really do much good at all. Moreover,it seemed, after a few days my lips were flakier than ever.Funily, I think climite control, same brand, twice cheaper is better, but still a no go for me as i don't like the consistency of it.
I tried this on 2 different continents, under different weather, and no luck, whether it's winter in NYC, or 100 in Singapore, this doesn't cure my chapped lips, and just sit there like a film.
I hear it's around $30 , thank goodness, I got mine for $5 from my spa- actually bought 3 at that price, but when I realized it wouldn't work for me , I gave them away- and I would never spend full price for what this is.
Besides, I find that plastic tube looking really cheap.

HG! HG!! I hate chapped lips in the winter and have tried everything, Crisco, petroleum jelly, olive oil...and there's always a downside. The first time I put this balm on I noticed a difference. It sank into all the dry, flakey parts immediately. My lips looked and felt smooth and soft. Lasted for hours, also, no need to reapply right away. I started putting this on before bed and it's still there when I wake up..which is what I wanted! Also, you know when you have a cold and have to breathe through your mouth...and you get those yucky, crusty lips in the morning? I put this on before bed and didn't have the crusty lips! :) This stuff is amazing, will definitely buy again. Only downside is the price, almost $30 at Ulta. Also, the tube is a little hard to work with. You twist the bottom and it there's some tiny holes at the top it comes out of, so it's not a very even application. But once it hits your lips it melts on and is fine. Also love the smell!!

NOT "the best"!!!
i allways had a problum with my dry lips, and this one is an ok balm
i bought it for the raving reviews it had here
now i am a very high end skin care junkie (looove la prairie lol)
and at first my snobish skincare brain felt like weird wanting to buy a dermalogica product as its not really a "high end brand" (sorry for all you guys that like this brand) but i know that there are times where a great product comes from not the most high end brand so i just bought this cream.
i put it on at night and hated the waxy feeling
and it felt like it was just sitting on the lips and thats it!
listin girls (and guys) if you are like me looking for the GREATEST EVER TREATMENT FOR THE LIPS then just follow what i do and i promise you that you will have an amazing, soft, beautiful, luscious lips!!!
so after years of experimenting and trying ALL the brands out there here is what i do......

MORNING(and if you want during the day):
i use the "SKIN CEUTICALS-antioxidant lip repair",this is a anti aging serum treatment for the lips and what it does is that it is a penatrating multi vitamin and anti oxidant serum that hydrates to the deepist layers of the lips and it plumps my lips really nice (and i just use it like a serum for the lips before i put on my lip balm for the day)
then after the serum i put a light(yet highly effective) lip balm that i love to use during day time because its light, not gloosy, not waxy balm and it gives an amazing feel to the lips, its called "CLE DE PEAU-lip treatment"
now this would be your "carry around lip balm" as you can smooth it on the lips whenever you feel you need to(just remember to smooth on the serum befor)

NIGHT TIME......
first off ,every other night i love to exfoliate my lips(this gives your lips the smoooth texture cause it sweeps the dead skin cells away and that means your lipstick will go on smooooth and beautiful) so what i use for that is the "LUSH- lip scrub" and remember after you do the scrub your lips will be very dry so you MUST put a cream on top of them!!!

after the exfoliation i apply the "SKIN CEUTICALS-antioxidant lip repair" serum and then wait 5 min and then.......
i apply the AMAZING "QTICA-Intense Lip Repair Balm" now this has got to be the most hydrating-heavy duty lip balm i ever had.
it is an intense lip balm that is only for night time use.
i just use this as a nightime beauty lip treatment, guys this is really amazing stuf!!!

so thats it girls, that is what i do:
"lush-lip scrub", every other day
"qtica-Intense Lip Repair Balm", at night after the lip serum
"skin ceauticals-antioxidant lip repair",as a serum underneath a lip balm
"cle de peau-lip treatment",as a lip balm in the morning
have fun guys and if you dont find somthing from these products and you dont know where to order them from then just send me a message and write me what country your from and ill be happy to tell you where to order it from online.
sarai from israel:-)

I had been on the hunt for a lip balm for months. My lips were dry, flakey, chapped and burning. I tried dozens of lip balms, chapsticks and lip treatments, which seemed to help only while the product was still moist on my lips. After it wore off, my lips were back to their old chapped ways.
The I found lip renewal complex. Wow! After one application it was as if my lips were saying "ahhhh relief!"
My lips feel hydrated, smooth and plump. No more flakes. It has helped with the very fine lines around my lips as well. My lips have not felt this good in years, and I have received compliments about my lips looking more plump.
As for the packaging, I like it. You twist the bottom and the product 'oozes' through the holes in the top. You either love or hate this packaging it seems, but no matter what packaging, the product is amazing and I will continue to repurchase.
