I was an avid fan of the original Tova Signature EDP and wore it for many years from about 1997 when I first started watching QVC in UK. I liked the simplicity of the bottle - slightly frosted glass bottle with a black top, and the perfume was fresh and light and close to the skin, a bit floral, a bit warm but with a citrusness which lifted it from the depths but a muskiness which prevented it from being cold.
I had all sorts of comments from the "oh you smell lovely" to the "I can smell kitchen cleaner" but I didn't care, I loved it, I sprayed it enthusiastically and with abandon.....then something happened, the packaging changed - always a bad sign in my opinion - there was a sourness and a wateryness, a "signature platinum" was introduced which just seemed to smell sweet to me. I moved on.
However Tova Signature EDP is back in as far as one can hope for in this age of changes to base ingredients. One has to be sure to buy the perfume with the gold top, but really it is pretty good and close to the original as I can remember it, bearing in mind that I last smelled the original original some 10 years ago....but as I said I have moved on and whilst I have this new/old/original Tova Signature it is one of several perfumes that I use and enjoy. I miss that first all consuming love though.

TOVA has again relaunched her FINAL original TOVA that she claims is the original fragrance. The jury is still out. I ordered a bottle and can't decide. Part of the problem is if it truly is the original fragrance why didn't she put it back in the original bottle which we loved.
The fragrance is close but when I look at the "new and improved" design of the bottle something tells me it's just not quite the same. I want the original bottle and then maybe I would be convinced.
Go to QVC and read the reviews. Some customers thinks she has hit a home run while others think it is a flop. I'm still on the fence. Again, I think part of the problem is by not putting it back in the original bottle. The packaging is OK, but I want the original packaging and bottle and that is having a way of how I view the scent.

I read on the QVC community board that due to poor sales, QVC has discontinued this fragrance. Well, they have no one to blame but themselves. At least we won't be duped into buying yet another Tova "version" that fails miserably to live up to the original and we'll save our money. Sad that this beauty is now gone forever. RIP Tova Signature. :(

This is a review of the latest incarnation of Tova Signature - in it's 'Platinum' form. I find it to be close to the Tova Signature original --harkening back to the pre-QVC buy-out of Tova's company. Having said that nothing will compare to those heady days of the original Tova Signature (made independently by Tova through her Beverly Hills Salon) - the square frosted bottle with the simple black plastic cap.
However with Tova Signature Platinum there is the simple, elegant and sensual basic notes of bergamot, jasmine, lavender, sandalwood and clear musk all at 32 % iessential oils n this eau de parfum form - far exceeding essential oil percentages of other fragrances in the eau de parfum category. What keeps me from giving Tova Signature Platinum a 5 Star rating is a powdery note that emerges in the middle-notes range, which is absent in the original.
The price of Tova Signature Platinum is quite affordable when it happens to be available on QVC. I just wish that QVC U.S. would bring in as much Tova products as QVC U.K. and QVC Germany seem to have had on their websites. Those two countries tend to carry a larger selection of Tova products including her costume jewelry!

I didn't think the last bottle I got was as good, or lasting, as a few years ago. I stuck it in back, and didn't try it again for over a year. Something magical happened! I can't tell any difference between this and what I was buying from Tova five or ten years ago. I knew some perfumes could change over time, but to go from dreck to very, very, good was a big fat surprise to me!

I have been a loyal user of the TOVA Signature for almost 18 years. The new reformulation isn't even close! I have read many, many reviews of the reformulation, and not too many like it. It smells almost watered down. It doesn't last at all.
I did some searching on the internet and discovered that some ingredients used in some of the higher end fragrances have now been banned.
It looks to me anyway, that TOVA must have had to reformulate and remove the "offensive" ingredients. (Apparently, these ingredients MIGHT cause skin irritation) So, put a warning on the label!!! Don't change all our favorite fragrances!

What did they do to TOVA? this new version totally sucks!
I used TOVA signature 10 years ago, when I was having emotional issues with a new medical condition. I used it every day as a form of aroma therapy. Well I decided to buy it again.
QVC must have bought her out. and changed the formula. As this smells horrible. And Tova's original version goes bad fast so I would buy off e-bay , but that problem...
WHAT A SHAME... My favorite fragrance that my COPD and anxiety, benefited GONE!!

I decided to try this fragrance after reading so much hoopla about the recipy beig changed..ble ble bla. I searched online and realized that it is sold on QVC in germany so I scheduled my time in order to catch one of the live shows with Tova. Ahhh this Tova is a riot. Such an entertaining and funny lady.
Well I cannot make any comparisons to the new formula as I have never tried the old one but I do like this fragrance very much. I purchased a 4 set of elixir which contained all 4 fragrances by Tova. This was a great opportunity to sample her fragrances without having to make a large investment. Signature is extremely soft, feminine and soothing . I do wear this to sleep sometimes as the fragrance is just so lovely. I think this scent has been so successful over the years as it is so multipurpose and can be worn by everyone. It is not a very strong or loud floral. Some reviewers have complained about a soapy smell but I was not able to sense this in Signature. I get a lot of musk in the drydown. The soapy note I find in Body, Mind and Spirit.
All in all - this is not a masterpiece; however for this price it is a very well put together fragrance. When my bottle of elixir is finished I will buy this again in Eau de Parfume.

Tova Signature is my perfume. The only one I have used for at least 6 years. It was reformulated back in 05, maybe 06, and the new formula is bug spray. That scent gets no lippies from me. However, the old Signature is amazing. Old Signature can come in bottles of varying types (not the bottle on the QVC website now of course), but basically there will be only 3 ingredients on the ingredient label. SD ALCOHOL 39-C (ALCOHOL DENAT.) FRAGRANCE (PARFUM), WATER (AQUA). I am having the most luck finding the old shimmer perfume, that is the signature scent with some gold shimmer in it. The fragrance is very strong and smells of bergamont initially, then the dry down is wonderfully fresh and musky and just gorgeous. People will ask what you are wearing and when you won't tell them they will beg. I've been through this at least five times. My favorite thing about this perfume is the smell it leaves behind on your sheets, pillow, coats...that smell is so intoxicating. I dated at least two guys who would text me when they smelled me and I wasn't even around. Men and women love it. I dread the day I can't find it anymore. No other perfumes appeal to me, and nothing I find is comparable to Tova.

It's a pleasant and clean scent, but I prefer Fifth Avenue Nights by Elizabeth Arden. It's similar (to my nose), and lasts all day. If they bring back the original Tova at a great price, I may buy again.

Would someone please tell me how to tell which bottles of Tova "signature" are the original (old) scent. I know the frosted bottle with black top, but what about the pink striped bottle or the crystal shaped, crystal cut bottle with the pink gel-like perfume in it? I LOVE this perfume and want to stock up on it, old scent!

After having imposed a moritorium on my last, citronella-ish bottle of Tova, I caved and purchased a bottle of the supposedly new and improved formula in the elixir version. I read that this was supposedly the return to the old Tova I loved so well, but I crashed and burned. The bottle is pretty but clearly kind of a b&*^h to open and the "new, improved" scent is medicinal/imdustrial cleaner. I am so disappointed, because I really wanted to believe. Tova was my signature scent for years, but I'm done. QVC should be ashamed to have corrupted what was once a really fine affordable cologne.

Years ago my mother was in a store, a man was following her around which made her very nervous. Finally he got the courage to ask her what perfume she had on because he wanted to buy it for his wife,it was Tova. Well ,I had to try this perfume.I recieved it as a gift, and the first time I tried it , I thought it was the worst thing I'd had ever smelled.(Cheap soap comes to mind). What was all the fuss about? I didn't trash it , but have had it for 2yrs.and you know it is getting better as it ages. Maybe in another year it will be about right. In the interm I took someone elses advice and purchased China Musk oil (about $5.00) I won't be buying Tova if I have to wait so long to enjoy it.

Being a perfume collector I absolutely HAD to order this after watching QVC. This was a year ago. When I received this I hated it. I tried to give it to my neighbor and she hated it too, so she gave it back to me. It sat in my closet for about a year. Yesterday I decided to try it again, since I paid so much for it ( for me it was expensive) but this time I just sprayed it into the air and walked thru it Naked! Then, after I got dressed, I sprayed the air and walked thru it again. All day long I enjoyed it surrounded me and ended up reminding me of a clean, soft musk and I have a faint memory of smelling this on someone a long time ago and it was a good memory. I think that the oils in this needed to blend together and " age" like a fine wine, or something like the spices in a good Speghetti sauce that always taste better the next day. Even my husband who hated it when I first got it said I smelled good. I am now happy to own this and wear it on occasion. I think the key is not spraying directely on the skin, just act like the Tova Lady and spray around you.

I thought i'd love this after reading reviews and how much I LOVE Tova Nights. I got a "good" bottle not the "bad" stuff and I didn't like it at all. I have no idea what the notes are but the primary one is the one that totally turned me off and it never went away. I've smelled another perfume very simiar to this but the name escapes me. Now.. Tova Nights is Wonderful.. totally different.. clean and light.. not heavy like Signature. I had to wash this one off me.

In general, I was already disappointed with the packaging as it was only a heavy frosted glass atomizer and a plastic cap but as to the fragrance, I had high hopes. It's not that it was terrible but I couldn't tolerate the "just mowed grass" smell from my skin fast or efficient enough. She always described it as the essence of femininity and an aura of beauty and sultryness. In my case, it definitely wasn't. I doused myself in rubbing alcohol and showered twice with Safeguard. I hope I haven't offended anyone here with this review. I just was not expecting a very intense green scent. I already knew I couldn't take green scents but the descriptions were misleading. Who wouldn't want to be Aphrodite in the flesh? I would. This one just made me felt like a Pied Piper of neighborhood hedges.

I took a risk buying this unsmelled off Ebay, mainly because I was curious (or rather incredulous) about Tova's selling technique on QVC! I got it incredibly cheap, otherwise my curiosity would have died unsatisfied.
The first time I put it on was in the morning about 5 seconds after the post had come, and I spent the whole day sniffing my wrist alternating between love and hate. I would smell it, enjoy the layers of floral, and soft clean warmth, and then somewhere a rolling wave of mild nausea would wash over me. Really weird.
I spent the day like this, and by evening, I was just plain confused.
Several days passed, and I was trying to decide whether to sell the scent on, and be rid of it, when I decided to give it another try, and I am so glad I did. No nausea, just a lovely sense of comfort and cleanliness. I love the feel of wandering around in my gently feminine cloud.
The scent doesn't last very well, but there is still the faintest hint of it on my clothes at night. I spray both on my skin, and on my clothes, and the two layers blend beautifully, but gently. I have considered spraying it my knicker drawer, or on a scarf hanging from the head of the bed, because it is such a lovely aroma.
I can only guess that on the first day, my body chemistry and skin was exuding whatever some of these other reviewer's skins do - resulting in the Bug Spray Effect. I have had similar problems with other perfumes, usually with a vile cat's pee aroma as the result, but they have been with perfumes that don't use natural essential oils, and a lot of synthetics.
So I guess all I can suggest is that those people who don't react well to this perfume are unlucky, because when it works, it REALLY works!

I love light, bubbly, white musk scents, and was looking for a new one after Noa by Cacharel (my all-time favorite) was discontinued. After reading reviews that this one was light and clean-smelling, I decided to give it a try. I spritzed it on as recommended, and did not like it from the start. I don't have any difficulty with it disappearing - I applied it in the afternoon, and kept smelling it during the night. The scent is powdery, heavily citronella; I don't pick up much of a musk at all. I understand the reviews that liken the scent to bug spray, but to me, it smells more like a grandma scent. Not necessarily in a bad way, but I don't find it to be very unique or fresh. My coworkers didn't think it did me any favors - one said it smelled like Irish Spring. I would love a soapy scent, but this one is all wrong on me. If you can sample it before purchasing, I would highly recommend that. This one's going back to QVC.
