Cute packaging, but the colours in the quad are so-so. Would probably use this more in summer for a lighter, fresher look. At the moment I'm only using the darkest purple. I have other purples that are better than those in this quad.

i just had to upload my own photo of this stuff on my eyes, because it does not at all strike me as a purple palette. it's mostly pinkish purple, or even fuchsia. i feel as though i'm somehow internet-color blind or my monitor is off. the whole thing is just way more pink than purple. the darkest purple is mostly what i have on my lid in the photo, but i used the light kitten-esque color on my brow. they look pretty cool but are a little chalk and flaky when you apply them with a brush. i think a purple/pink smokey eye is possibly taboo, but i might eventually try it out with these.

Love love love. The shadows are great quality, as good as the normal Stila shadows. Highly pigmented and soft. The 4 work beautifully together for a really pretty eye look. The lightest is a great highlight, and the two lighter purples are a nice lid and crease. The darker purple is great for the outer corner and to line with. I would definitely purchase this again. After seeing how great this one was, I'm seriously considering the Marrakesh quad too. Love :)

Note: The purple in this quad is everything to me that Mac Nocturnelle wasn't.. Buy this not Nocturnelle!!

Like the person below me, I got this in a set at my Costco. It came with a brush, eyeliner pen, and mascara. I am a sucker fur purples, and got excited when I saw Stila for such a good price (15.99 for the set). I am a die hard d/s girl, but thought it would be fun to try a he item, especially at such a good price. Well I don't know if it's because I got it at Costco so the quality isn't very good, but I didn't really like anything in the set. The eye shadows are glittery, and to light on my medium, yellow toned warm complexion. They are not very pigmented, except for the darkest purple. I am keeping it around so when I see my sister I can give it to her, she is fairer than me, maybe she will be able to use it. I loved the packaging, just didn't care for the product. I am not put off from Stila, this may just not be for me.....

I got this on a whim at my local costco in a set with the stila major lash mascara and a stila #9 brush, so I can't really comment on the price. The only color i use in this quad is the darkest purple because it's the only color that actually shows up on my lids. I wouldn't recommend this quad to someone with my coloring (NC30) because the lighter colors just seem to blend right into my lids even with UDPP underneath. Also, 2 of the lighter colors have chunky glitters in them.. I would not repurchase.

I got this as part of a deeply discounted ‘In the Spotlight’ Stila set from beautycrunch.com, and I am quite pleased with it (though I never would have paid full price). The packaging like all Stila is super-cute- a sturdy silver plastic embossed case with a full-size mirror. It contains 4 pink-and-purple eyeshadow shades. The shadow pans themselves are quite small (about 1/3 the size of a standard Stila eyeshadow single), but I’ve never used up an entire eyeshadow before, so I would imagine this would still last me quite a while. The shades include a pale shimmery pink, a pale shimmery lavender, a medium lavender with slight sparkle, and a medium-dark plum with slight sparkle. The 2 lighter shades apply as a sheer, shimmery wash that brightens the eyes nicely. the 2 darker shades look almost matte/slightly chalky in the pan & on the skin, though I don’t necessarily think they look bad. The darkest plum shade is warmer and more ‘reddish’ than the other 3 shades, and I don’t wear it as often as the others. I really like the light & medium lavender shades together (with a little black or grey or purple eyeliner) and the medium lavender shade is surprisingly vibrant on me (I have fair skin). I’ll wear the light pink as a base for other pink & mauve shades. The staying power is good over a primer. There is a little fall-out but no more or less than other Stila eyeshadows I have (I think Stila shadows are on the soft/powdery side anyways). I really like these purple shades for my brown eyes, and I find myself reaching for this set 2-3 times per week. Bottom line, if you can get this set for cheap, it’s a good quad to have if you like purples.

I really like these shades, as I am often drawn to purple shadows. However, the consistency of these is quite chalky and powdery. I do like the mirror and the packaging is sleek.

I got this in a set with the #9 blending brush, liquid eyeliner, and mascara. I normally wouldn't buy these colors for myself and I'm not sure that I'm real crazy about them. Sometimes pinkish shades tend to make my blue eyes look blood shot. Would be great for the gal with brown or hazel eyes! The shadows also seemed a bit powdery.

The shadows are silky, go on easily, and the color stays all day with primer. I just don't love the colors. I wish they had more pop, were more richly pigmented. They just seem "blah," both in the compact and on my face.

Such a pretty little compact to carry around in your purse!
Pro's:
Great packaging with the Stila design on the front and the silver colour is very sophisticated. The colours have great payoff and are nice for a smokey eyed look.
Con's:
Nothing really.
Overall:
Great, worth the buy.

I am so in love with this palette! I bought it because I love purples and I was craving Stila, but I wasn't expecting much. I am so pleasantly surprised, these shadows are amazing. They are just as soft as the full size Stila's - the quality is definitely there. The colours are gorgeous, they last long (I always use a primer), and the palette is very sturdy and pretty. I don't mind that the pans are small because I've never hit pan on a shadow before, but I would definitely repurchase this palette. Love love love!

Of all of my Stila purchases, I think that Montmartre is one of the biggest ripoffs. (Luckily, I can get most of my Stila from Beauty Crunch or ebay, to save some money.) I got this palette as part of an $18 discounted "Step Out and Shine" kit on BeautyCrunch, so I am not complaining, but I would like to say that you might not want to pay full-price ($38??) for this. The palette case is super-cute and a very handy size for travel. However, the shadows are pretty tiny -- more like something you get with a GWP. The collection of colors is also a little odd. The pink is extremely pale -- I prefer Heather. The light lavender is very pretty as a wash, but there is not much difference between it and the darker lavender (which is too light for the crease). The Plum is pretty, but I am not sure if it is dark enough to be a liner. Verdict: If you can get this for cheap and you like some of the colors, it could be a good compact to keep in your travel bag!

The description is correct in that these pans are VERY small. As to being "cool" colors, I find that the "rich plum" has a reddish tint and is too warm for my cool-toned skin. I've also found that although the "pink pearl" is almost colorless on my very pale skin, I can't substitute the next darkest "lavender pink" because I then look too made-up. I've tried wearing only the lightest three colors, but that effect is just boring because all except the "rich plum" are very poorly pigmented. They're all difficult to apply because they they fall off the shadow brush onto my cheeks, and then, because they are glittery instead of just shimmery, there is glitter all over my cheeks, especially when I use the lightest color. The strangest thing about this palette is that it is very strongly SCENTED. I have no idea why anyone would want to put scent in eye shadow, but Stila has done it. I can't find any attractive way to wear this, nor do I want to smell this scent all day. In my opinion, this palette is not at all, in size, quality, look, or scent, worth $38.00 or even $18.00 or $8.00.

I reluctantly bought this quad because the eyeshadows were so pretty. The eyeshadows are very small and comparable to Lancome GWP size. The price was $28USD. Normally I would never buy something like this, but I loved the colors so I bought the quad. The color payoff is great. The colors are mostly cool toned but one is bordering on warm toned. I would buy this quad again but I'd wait until I could find some sort of sale somewhere. Overall, it's a great product. I was surprised by the quality since I think Stila usually lacks quality.

For reference, I'm a PPP/ green eyes/ brunette. I have normal to dry skin and never break out.

Montmartre (which is the correct name for this, not Montemart as Stila originally had it listed on its website) is the cool 4 pan eyeshadow palette from Stila's Spring 2008 collection.
It has 4 new shimmery shades (the Marrakesh palette is all existing or former pro shades) - a soft pale pink base colour, a light lavender lid shade, a crease colour that's essentially a darker version of the aforementioned lavender and a purple liner shade (my favourite of the four). If you already have Key, Charm and Amethyst you could probably live without this palette.
I find there's not enough difference between the two middle lavender shades, so I tend to use the darker of the two wet to make it stand out a bit more in the crease. That said, the colours all co-ordinate and blend seamlessly together.
The compact itself is one of the nicest that Stila has produced. It's metal with the same vine and floral design that's on the new 3 pan compacts and a good mirror inside. It's the same size as the Re:Orient palettes, but the size of the pans is quite a bit smaller than these (barely 2cm in diameter - almost a 1/3 of the size of Stila's standard pans). I think Stila could quite easily have made these at least deeper without compromising the size of the palette. The pans are glued in, but they come out easily, so when these shades run out I'll probably press other shades into it as the compact is so nice.

Sigh. These shadows are completely lovely! I purchased this quad and Marrakesh for my first venture into Stila eyeshadows, and promptly fell head-over-heels. My eyes are dark brown and these violet hues are perfection. Romantic, I'm-in-love sort of shades. Stila is a bit pricey, true, but these portions will certainly see me through a year or two (Oh, okay. Let's be honest. I have so many shadows to choose from that these will probably last me five years). If I want my husband to remember the girl he fell in love with forever ago, these are the shadows I wear. Highly recommended! (And try Ebay!)

I bought the Marrakesh quad & fell in love w/Stila e/s so I decided I must buy this quad as well. The pans are pretty small, which I could deal w/in the Marrakesh palette b/c the colors are beautiful & look great on, but the colors in this set didn't wow me once I got them on. The colors weren't as pigmented & didn't even show up on me. This one is going back & I think I'll buy a backup of the Marrakesh quad instead.

This eye shadow quad has (of course) 4 colors that Stila promotes as "The hues were carefully chosen so they would blend well together in any combination or perfect if worn individually. Shades consist of both best sellers and newer shades for countless creations, all housed in perfect travel size compacts".

Now the eye shadow colors for this quad are a pink pearl shimmer, a lavender pink shimmer, a lavender shimmer and a rich plum shimmer. The eye shadows are really nicely pigmented, really pretty and go on very smooth, like all Stila shadows do IMO.

This quad comes in a square silver mirrored compacts that feature an embossed vine design that is really sturdy and cute. I must say the pans that are in this compact are "mini" sized, not the full sized pans that come in a regular palette. I don't think these are refillable, but you never know; maybe Stila will make refills for this quad. The size of each pan is about as big as a nickel.

The price of this quad is $38, which is a tad spendy. But I really like Stila and I collect it and use it a lot. I bought mine at Sephora.com. You can also purchase it on the Stila website for the same price.

I would repurchase, but I hope that they come out with refills for this quad.
