I'm a bit confused by all of the negative product reviews claiming that this system didn't "work" at all. As someone who has tried every conceivable form of foundation/makeup, from liquid to the mousse types to mineral makeup, I have tried them ALL and have never really found a product that delivers everything I'm looking for in a foundation-ease of use, long-lasting wear, full coverage, and natural-looking coverage-until I tried the Luminess airbrush system! It took a couple of tries to get both the correct shade for my complexion and the right amount of coverage, but after a couple of attempts, I have come up with the same shade as my own complexion and can apply the makeup in about the same amount of time as it takes to use liquid foundation. Long-lasting formula gives me coverage all day without constant touch-ups or blotting due to oiliness. If you have the money to spend and are thinking about buying this system, I urge you to do it! You won't regret it-I know I am camera-ready and look flawlessly airbrushed whenever or wherever I am when I use it; it's an incredible confidence-booster, knowing you always look fresh and flawless under any lighting or weather conditions.

Horrible product. It is impossible to find a shade that matches well. The product has zero coverage and you have to cake it on in order to cover up anything. I found the end result to be a sticky, discolored mess on my face. The system does clog and in my eyes it takes a LONG time to out it on. I have not yet had a chance to wear it out, because I apply it... wash it off..... apply it... wash it off. After a few tries of applying it and trying to make it look good.... I give up and use regular foundation. Next thing... I called today to cancel and it is too late to cancel. So now I am stuck paying another 3 months of $59.99 for a product that I absolutely do not like or want. Yay me. Not to mention the $59.99 "security deposit" that they charged me in the beginning when I ordered the system. It is a mystery as to where that money went. Overall, this is a horrible product and a HORRIBLE company to deal with. When I decided to get this product, I did read reviews and they were either good... or very bad. I should have gone with the bad reviews and saved myself $300.00. Needless to say... I am angry with myself for buying it and my husband is angry at me for basically WASTING $300.00. For anyone who likes and can use this product, I am extremely jealous because that means you have flawless, beautiful skin and don't need any make up at all. I am a sucker for buying this machine, grrrrr

I got this system as a gift for Christmas and was completely unhappy with the results both times i tried it, and when i tried it on my mom. None of the foundation colors matched my skin tone and did nothing in terms of coverage. to cover my skin imperfections i had to cover them a lot using too much product resulting in an over all uneven appearance. HATED the bronzer as well was way to golden and resulted in a weird splotchy looking gold marks. the blush was dull looking. the moisturizer and primer that come with the system were very dry i wouldn't bother. because i got it as a gift by the time i could figure out how to return it (you have to reach them by phone... they do not answer your emails nor tell you where to send it back to without calling. inconvenient to say the least) it was past the 30 days. they basically told me that sucks your out of luck and there is nothing they could do about it. worst purchase i have made in a long time.

I've read a lot of the previous reviews and I'm glad I didn't see them until well after I purchased this system because I might have missed out on the best makeup look I've ever had. I'm in my mid 50's and usually don't wear makeup most days because I'm so disappointed that it settles in the wrinkles around my eyes and in the end I feel I look older. Last summer I had my makeup professionally done to renew our vows and the comments in person and of the pictures were incredible! I looked easily 20 years younger. No kidding, someone thought I was my son's girlfriend in one of the pictures. LOL! So, when I saw this system on a great sale via gilt.com I grabbed it. The learning curve is not steep at all and I enjoy putting it on. There are many, many videos on the company website that give all sorts of neat tips on how to apply. I've never called the company but have ordered more make up colors via the web and since they have great specials the colors were extremely inexpensive and will no doubt last a long time since you only use 2-8 drops per application. Everything I've gotten via the web has come in a few days. So - although the system takes up a fair amount of space when I travel it makes less of a mess than traveling with Bare Minerals which invariably gets all over the place.
Would definitely recommend this to a friend and would get a kick out of showing others how to apply the make up.

Be aware that when you take advantage of this company's "Try it for 30 days for $19.95/$29.95" you will IMMEDIATELY be billed for an amount equal to the first installment payment. They call this a security deposit. The language in the Terms and Conditions are very ambiguous about this, but after investigating I confirmed it was legal (just not very forthright). The bottom line is this ... you cannot try their product for the trial offer price. You will pay closer to $100 dollars, all of which is refundable and/or applied to your final installment payment. I was very disappointed with this billing tactic and ended up cancelling my order so I can't speak to the quality of their product.

I've had this product for 3 months now and i love it! The airbush system and the airbrush makeup is pretty expensive, but it is what it is. Most airbursh systems are going to be expensive anyways.
The only problem i have with this product is that the airbrush stylus has a tendency to "break". What happens is that the trigger or lever you pull on to dispense makeup sometimes won't spray any makeup out, or if it does it'll sometimes not let you control how much you want to come out no matter how far back you pull on the lever. The first time it happened was when no makeup came out, but it fixed itself somehow after a day. I believe i was cleaning it as i always do after using the system when this first happened. The second time it happened, again no makeup came out, i had to take it apart (their website has tutorials on how to take it apart and put it back together). It happened the second time as i was applying makeup. Even after i took it apart and put it back together it still wasn't completely fixed- i couldn't control the amount i wanted to dispense. However, it somehow fixed itself again. I've haven't called customer service about this yet, so i'm not sure how i should fix it exactly. However, it seems that giving it time and/or taking it apart and cleaning it works.
On the brighter side i actually would recommend this product, because when it's working it's awesome! I don't think i'll ever go back to liquid foundation. But i wouldn;t recommend this to people with mature skin. I've tried it on other people with mature skin and it doesn't apply too well. Mainly if you have a lot of wrinkles and fine lines.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I ordered on a Saturday. The website said 30 day free trial. Well on Monday they took 49,99 out of my account. I called them they said it was a security deposit. I asked them were it was on their website, they told me on the agreement form. I found it 3/4 of the way down and all it said was there was a security deposit it never even stated a price. On my 30 day trial 24 days later another 49.99 was taken out of my account. I didnt even open the package, I want nothibng to do with these unethical dishonest people. Please people stop buying their product. Oh and they dont tell you they automatically take out another 29.99 for refills wether you need it or not.

WARNING!!! The product is great, but the customer service is HORRIBLE. Few highlights on my experiences:
- Purchased BOTH the tanning and foundation systems only 4 months ago. Appears BOTH the wands on both of them have broken.
- Called to replace the foundation wand, it broke first. They can find ALL the makeup I purchased but not the system itself so I had to pay $50 for a replacement head, after I escalated and screamed bloody murder.
- Turns out I am signed up automatically for their monthly club, for foundation make up, even though they cannot find my foundation kit order. They said it was because of my tanning kit, but really, why send me foundation make up when I purchased a tanning system from them? (per their notes) I sent an email canceling last week, still waiting for confirmation.
- Sent NUMEROUS emails for support when there are issues. Hardly any reply by way of email. Or it takes weeks. Or as soon as you hit a "difficult" topic they stop replying.
- Currently waiting to see if they will replace my tanning want since the top BROKE OFF the entire wand!
Their website claims "Customer service is all about being there for you when you need it the most and this is why we believe in providing quality and dependable service always." So far none of this has come true on my end in the short 4 months or so I have had this product. Next time BUY SOMEONE else!!

What a disappointment. I wanted to try this product for months. I turned 50 and was hoping to see wonderful results. I actually have really good quality skin but with wrinkles showing up now I thought perhaps this would be a good way to ease up on them. First of all when you order it is a recording which obviously is not intended to assist customers because the recording is very long and many of the terms of conditions are throw into the recording, seriously who could remember and understand everything. The product did arrive very fast. I tried and tried and tried to use this system but not only was it difficult to use it was also difficult to clean. My results were not good at all, not at all how the informerial shows. I seriously get much better results using the foundation I use. Although "Customer Satisfaction" is printed everywhere Customer Service was awful, when you finally get through, I waited for over 30 minutes and got cut off twice, so it took over and hour before I actually spoke with someone I was charged the $29 to get the product but also charged for the first months payment of $59 (this is even before I know if you want to keep it and before the sysetm arrived) - I called to complain and they indicated that it was "all in the recorded message". I tried to use the product every day for two weeks (several times on the weekend) when I finally gave up trying to use this product it took forever again to get through to Customer Service - at which time it was explained that only the first payment would be refunded not the $29 and that "that was also in the recording" - shipping to return the item cost me $34 because needs to be "guaranteed delivery" or I would have ended up paying for the entire system - I said in that case they should return it to me so I could at least sell it on ebay to try to get my $29 and $34 back - however they send they would not send it back, even though they would charge me the full amount. Ridiculous. I love trying products and there have only been a few that I have returned. Not every product is going to work or have results we want, some will rave while other lament. I only write reviews when Customer Service is horrible or when it manufacturers claim "Customer Satisfaction is Guaranteed" and then it isn't.

I have been wanting to try this product for a long time. Finally I broke down and ordered it. #1) I was surprised at how quickly it came (and the shipping was free)
#2) I was shocked at how quickly I picked up on how to use the system. It goes on kind of like magic, and before your eyes you can see your skin looking flawless.
But...The tell all came on Saturday when I actually got up around 6:00 in the morning to apply (my no make up look). I had a very important graduation to attend. Somewhere around noon my picture was taken with the graduate. Later on that day I saw the picture posted on Facebook. OMG...I look 15 years younger, and my face is literally flawless in the photo, yet didn't look (made up). I don't need any further convincing. Just for the heck I have ordered Kett for airbrush to try with the system, just to see if there is any diference. But for now....This is my HG foundation. It is worth the money, time and effort.
I forgot to mention that after a few minutes I finish everything with a light duting of my LaBella Donna Loose Powder. (It's still the best) loose powder I've ever used. And it has a full spectrum sun block.

This review is for Luminess TANNING system - not the foundation. I did not have a good experience w/the tanning. First off, I somehow got on autoship and the only way I could get off was when my creditcard expired. They WOULD NOT stop shipping tanning replacements despite my phone calls or emails. They have one of those unresponsive customer service systems, however as soon as my creditcard expired, I had an email from them. That annoys me.
Then after only about ten or so uses, the whole system stopped working and the Luminess website gives no instructions or troubleshooting which is ridiculous. No matter what I did, I could not get the system to start spraying again. Prior to that, I found the spray way too light and I never looked much darker at all. Truly, I don't think my &(#*$(# system worked from day 1 and since I found the company ornery as heck to deal with, I will NOT REPURCHASE any product from them ever again.

The system itself is okay, I love the idea of spraying makeup on in such a way as to have it lay on the skin leaving it looking flawless just as you would a spray on tan as opposed to rub on self tanners. That said I find the Air gun itself is very high maintenance ie cleaning the gun repeatedly after each use and still having it clog up more often than not. Re the actual foundation....It is water based and very matte after applied so unless you have super oily skin you may find as I did that it looks very dry, cakey, and mask like even if you use a very light application. I have not tried the new formulation they offer as the price is rather steep. I have also used Dinair foundation which is even worse.
I would love to find an airbrush foundation that gives a glowey satin matte or even a velvet matte finish that is used to make celebs look great.. but sadly I haven't found one yet.
Any suggestions?

I bought this system and the Temptu Airpod airbrush system so I could compare and contrast. Simply, Temptu won. This system had a wide range of colors and you could custom mix anything you wanted. However, "six drops" as is recommended was never enough. And after putting in X drops of one shade and Y drops of another and hoping they mixed property only to get half of my face done.... well that is frustrating. And then there is the shaking. I felt like I shook the bottles forever! Two foundations, blush, and bronzer. During the very first use the gun splatter constantly. I couldn't get a continuous stream regardless of how far I pulled the trigger. It was very messy. And since I would have to mix multiple batches of foundation before finishing my face, I would usually have some left that I would have to waste into a tissue so I could use the blush. It also requires cleaning after every use. It's just messier and takes more effort and the application wasn't as simple. Additionally, the makeup didn't offer the coverage that the silicone-based Temptu makeup offered. For my whole face I ended up mixing 3 batches of 8 drops. And the well isn't big enough to put all of that in at once. And I never did get the same level of "wow" from what I looked like after. For everyday use, not a makeup artist, I never wanted to pick up the luminess system again. Sorry. :(

I recently treated myself to a Luminess Airbrush system and I am really pleased with it. I had been curious about the system after seeing a couple of presentations on HSN. When Luminess opened a kiosk in a local mall, I approached them for a makeover. I was truly astonished after the makeover. The finish is natural looking, luminous and lasts all day.
If you can purchase the system from HSN, it will be a savings. I have seen it as cheap as $99.99 there. I paid $130.00 for the basic system. Also, if you can spring for a more advanced model with more features, I would recommend it. The salesperson helped me customize my foundation shade, so, it is an exact match. Expect a learning curve it, but, it is a fun process. Also, it is expensive, but, I consider it worth the expense.

In my opinion, the Luminess airbrush system was pretty good. I've had it for about 3 months now and it works very well. My skin isn't breaking out as often and I love that. I found that if I didn't clean it thoroughly after every use then I would have problems with the airbush gun. It would get clogged and spatter a lot. So I would have to start doing my makeup 10-15 minutes earlier to make sure I can clean it before and after use. I watched a lot of youtube reviews and online reviews before I spent almost $300 on the system. A lot of young girls loved it while a good portion of older women hated the way it worked because it didn't cover wrinkles, red areas, etc. I found it best to wash my face with water and apply an oil free lotion 15-20mins before applying the airbush makeup. That way my skin is clean and moisturized. There's a lot of little things you can do to effect the way the makeup works with your skin. I thought the price for the system was a little pricey as well as the makeup since I go through it so quickly. I wish they came in a larger bottle.

I've been wanting to try an airbrush system for a while and I'm glad I did. I would've preferred to try the Dinair system (just because you can choose the color of the unit), but I found this one on sale.
The system itself is very easy to use and keep clean. I'd say the only negative is that the brush holder keeps falling off. It's just a little plastic piece that the unit sits in.
For the foundation, although I found a perfect match, the color selection just didn't seem good enough. I got the Fair kit and the lightest color (F2) was perfect for me. I'm pale, but I've seen people more pale than me and I use the lightest color. The other 3 shades that came with it were quite a bit darker and somewhat orange. In reference to coverage you have to play with it for a while. Watching the DVD helps, but until you use it yourself it can be kind of tricky. When you first start out it's going to take a while to build up coverage because you don't want to pull back too far. If you do, you'll use too much product. Using this as a concealer is fine. It covers redness and blemishes well, but not so great under the eyes. It creases, but you can smooth it out with your finger. It does give a somewhat flawless look and I do prefer this over liquids and powders. It looks a lot smoother and is more sanitary.
It also came with a moisturizer/primer, blush and a bronzer. I honestly see abosolutely no difference with the moistureizer/primer. The makeup looks and lasts the samer whether I use it or not. The blush is pretty, but you really have to be careful with how much you use. When I first tried it out I used I used 2 drops and that was WAY too much. One drop of blush is plenty for both cheeks. The bronzer is pretty, but a little too shimmery for my taste. I use it as an eyeshadow and it works just fine.

Though I do realize that everyone is different and this product had worked fine for others, it didn't for me. I don't like the fact that the product is given in such a small bottle. The product didn't come out as promised- holding back half way, doing the circles, holding it away from the face 6 inches... no, it barely came out at all and if it did, it took forever to get a good enough coverage to cover blemishes, uneven skin tone and darkness under my eyes. Plus, when I put it under my eyes, it would 'scale' up a bit due to the creases of my eye (which are minimal, just the normal skin elasticity)- and after putting it on my face, even with exfoliation and using their moisturizer (which was rather nice actually)- around on my chin and upper lip, the makeup would look scaly a bit (upon close inspection) when my skin stretched (like when I smiled). I would allow it to dry and it would still crack a little with the pores of my face.
I gave this product a try several times, thinking I wasn't doing it right, but with how long it took to get on my face at all, my hand would cramp up.
I just found that at $250 plus $24 every other month for that teeny couple ounce bottle was way too much to spend when it didn't make me shock and amazed at what it did for my skin. I can achieve a better look with Lorél products.
If it works for you, then good for you, but as far as for me, I did not like this product at all.
Oh- as a side note, upon calling customer service, they have 2 opening menus, one general, but when trying to get past the next menu- I would select the correlating number and all that would happen was that the menu would start over again. I couldn't get to a representative. What I ended up doing, is after getting to the second menu, I pressed 8, switched to Spanish mode, hit 1 and got a representative instantly. Of course, it was in Spanish, but I told them I couldn't get past the automated menu in English, so they helped me on that line. Just a side note if you're ever dealing with the customer service, it's awful and they need to fix their automated service.

Love the Matte foundation.. I have F3.I just got it today and it was packaged great. The price was the normal. I also got the eyeshadow in Luminess Air Airbrush Eyeshadow Duo - Socialite At Home .
They are both beautiful.
I would recomend both of these to anyone with a Luminess Air system.

I grant that not all products work for everyone, or suit their preferences, but I personally have had a wonderful time with my system. I don’t know if everyone is bothering to watch the DVD (I usually don’t either), but I did in this case. A lot of complaints I see seem to be direct results of not following instructions. The dry skin: me too, until I remembered that the make up is water-based, so my skin sucked all the water from the make up and left my skin dry. When I remembered to add a moisturizer first, that problem went away. I also forget to hold the stylus far enough away at times. that will cake it on, and leave a greasy area. You have to patiently hold it away from your skin and brush the layers on. I swear I never got so many positive comments on my make up until I started wearing it. Most of the reviews that I came across were old and about customer service, don’t be turned off by this great product because of those old reviews.

LUMINESS AIRBRUSH TANNING SYSTEM
For those you are interested in trying, the product is great. I've been going back and forth trying to decide to buy it. In Canada TSC had it at a special price and since they have a great return policy I bought it. Prior to that I've used everything and anything on the market self tanners wise: creams, lotions, gels, sprays and wasn't happy with anything. Then I switched to Mystic Tan. Unfortunately that cost pretty $$$ for ever visit. Since I've purchased Temptu and love using any airbrush system, I decided to try it. I LOVE IT! The solution is small which is a negative but it works great. Give you great colour, there is hardly any scent at all and it gives you that instant bronzing look because the solution has a bronzer. If you know how to work any of the airbrush system learning how to use this will be a breeze. I'm hoping this will save me lots of $$$ in a long run. I'm also hoping to find a local much bigger self tanning solution that I can use instead of the pricer Luminess one. I'm taking one rating off because the two solutions you get with the system are very small and you cannot buy a bigger size.
