This is, hands down, the best acne clearing cleanser for both pregnant and non-pregnant women.
Lactic acid is very safe for pregnant women, yet very effective. I had tons of breakouts along my chin/jawline when I was pregnant and new pimples just kept bursting out every day, which is so irritating because I couldn't use any OTC products during pregnancy (no salicylic acid, no benzoyl peroxide, retinoids, etc.) so I resorted to Belli skincare which is specifically made for pregnant women (I got sick of reading each and every ingredient on my skin care products, so decided to go with something specifically made for pregnant women).
Once I started using this, I realize that I don't see new pimples popping up anymore. Maybe once a week, but it's normal because during pregnancy most women are going to experience having hormonal acne. But they don't come out as often as before. My skin has finally calmed down :)
The consistency is rather thick, and has a lemon/citrus scent which I love. If you don't like scented skincare, the scent in this cleanser is VERY SUBTLE and is natural too (not artificially fragranced) and will go away once it is rinsed off. I also use this with my Clarisonic.
The price is kind of expensive, but one bottle lasts about 2-3 months. And the packaging is so adorable. So it's worth it :)

I wish I could say this product worked for me like many other are saying, but unfortunately it did not. I have acne-prone skin and being pregnant made me breakout even more than usual since I had to stop using my Benzaclin prescription. This product really dried out my face, even with using a moisturizer, which I thought would be a good thing, until I started getting more acne than I had before. Also, it was different than any other acne I had as I would big and small bumps all over my face but they would just sit there for days, never coming to a head or anything. I used it along with the Belli Acne Spot Treatment and even tried the products separately to see if it was one or the other causing the problem but I still broke out…

I had to order this online and, although it is expensive (about 20 GBP), I quite like this. It is not very drying but my face feels clean and seems to be calming down the pregnancy related breakouts I've been getting. It doesn't foam and is SLS free.
I have used this both as a normal cleanser and as a mask, where I leave it on my face for 5 minutes or so, when I'm relaxing in the bath and I quite enjoy using it.
My skin is a little sensitive/combination and this hasn't irritated it. I would consider using this even if not pregnant.
I also got a few free samples when it arrived in the post-always a bonus!
I like the smell-reminds me of 7-Up or Sprite and it's not too strong for me.

I freaked out when I became pregnant and I started to break out like crazy! I didn't know what to do until I heard about this amazing stuff. I use it with my clarisonic and my skin has never looked better!! enough said! I also love to leave it on at nights as a mask for 5/10 minutes. HG for me!

This cleanser does well at exfoliating my face, and I love that I would be able to continue using it if I became pregnant again. However, something--either the lactic acid or the lemon peel oil--irritates my skin, causing some unpleasant stinging. The lemon peel oil also gives the product a very strong lemon scent, and I prefer my skin care products to be fragrance free. So, it's a nice cleanser, just not nice for me.

ETA: I'm still using this facewash. If I don't use it for a few days, I break out. This is my HG. I use it in the morning and use Clean and Clear Sensitive Facewash at night after I remove makeup (with La Vitton cleansing oil). Love this.
Wow!! I have tried so many acne products over the years. Glycolic acid works well for me, so I thought this product containing lactic acid would be equally great. I don't want to worry about product ingredients while I'm pregnant, so this face wash is perfect for me. It's safe and effective!! I'm so glad I found the reviews on MUA and got a buy two get something free deal on drugstore.com.
I suggest starting off slowly with this. I used it like a regular facewash and 1- it doesn't remove makeup, so you need to work that out some other way and, 2- it is strong and shouldn't be used around your nose/lips/eyes. Mine are currently peeling a bit from using it haphazardly. Otherwise, awesome product and will continue to use this after my baby is born!!

I never had skin problems until I got pregnant. I had what seemed like uncontrollable acne during my first trimester. Heard about this product and decided to give it a go. It is amazing! I use it twice a day (morning and night) and it works wonders! Smells great-- has a refreshing citrusy scent and a little goes a long way. I keep one bottle at my sink and one in the shower. I'm in my 3rd trimester and only have 6 more weeks to go in my pregnancy and I still haven't run out. I am actually planning on continuing to use this product even after I deliver cause I love it so much. Seems pricey, but drugstore.com is always running promos. I will usually buy when its buy 2 get one free.

I found out about this cleanser from my sister who is 12 wks pregnant and was breaking out on her chin from hormones caused by pregnancy. she was at her wits end and was so happy to have found this safe acne cleanser. she said after a day she could already see a huge difference and her skin tone was brighter and smoother too so of course i wanted to try it too. i use some prescription acne treatments as i am not pregnant, but i do notice my skin tone can get red and irritated from all the harsh exfoliants like retin-a, glycolic acid or what ever i normally would use to help prevent breakouts. this is a gentler alternative to smoother and brighter skin and to unclog pores. and it doesn't leave my face raw like others can. i still need stronger products to get rid of my acne completely, but i take a break from them and use this to allow my face a rest from all that harsh stuff. as a result i see my skin tone appear calmer and less red but still keep from breaking out. it can be a little drying for drier skin, as it is for my sister some of the time, not for me cause i am oily. this is a great product, so happy someone thought to create a line to address the needs of pregnant women's skin safely.

I'm not pregnant, but I got a free sample of this, so I gave it a try. I love it! It's very gentle and my skin feels super soft after I use it. My acne has been reduced since I started to use it. I also use it as a mask. It is rather expensive, but I try to buy it when it is on sale at either Walgreens.com or Drugstore.com.

I am not pregnant, but I really liked this face wash. From my new birth control, my hormones went wacky and I started breaking out. This really calmed them down. It feels nice and fresh on your skin and I like that you can use it also as a spot treatment mask.

This product is a lifesaver!!! I couldn't believe how my skin changed during the first trimester. I had pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, oil, you name it! If you are pregnant and totally clueless about "your new skin" you should try it. What I do at night is leave it for 5-10 minutes so it dries, it is amazing. Kee the bottle upside down so it doesn't spill, that is my only concern about this. You can get it at drugstore.com.

I am writing this review as I am 9 weeks pregnant. At about week 6 my skin completely turned on me. It became super oily the area around my mouth and chin broke out HORRIBLY. We are talking cystic acne all over. I became so depressed and withdrawn. I didn't want to use anything that may hurt my baby. Luckily I came across this wash in my Internet search. I am surprised there aren't more reviews to be honest. This wash made a difference in 3 days for me. The lactic acid in it really helps the skin to peel and renew. I think the trick to it for me has been to leave the wash on as a treatment for 10 minutes before rinsing. This really helps to control the oil as well. The price is steep and I had to order mine online so it's not easily tangible but it was worth the wait to order it. There is hope out there for us acne ridden pregnant ladies! FYI - I purchased my tube from drugstore.com for about $22.00.

This is a fabulous find that I picked up at CVS after searching for an acid based face wash. It contains 7% lactic acid, but doesn't leave my skin feeling stripped at all. Just soft and lovely and with fewer flakes.
I am using it in conjunction with BP to treat my hormonal acne, to help lighten post acne marks. Does a great job removing long wear foundation, but you'll need a separate eye makeup remover. I can't say that it alone is improving my acne, but it does improve my skin tone and help clear dead skin cells to prep for deeper absorption of other products.
The only down side is the price tag of $22, but since I haven't found its equal and you only need a nickel sized drop, I'd still continue buying it. I have paid more for products that did nothing, so overall a fabulous find.

Wow. What a major disappointment this was. After hearing rave reviews on drugstore.com and some reviews on MUA, I was looking forward to trying this cleanser. One reason I was looking forward to it was because I had done well with lactic acid in the past. But the formulation of this soap was way too harsh. I can't believe people called this gentle. It gave me terrible skin--blotchy, full of whiteheads, and it flared up my folliculitis. Terrible for rosaceans and if you have acne, it will only give you more. Plus, the price! After shipping I had to pay $30! You do get a lot but my god. $30 for a soap? There have to be better options out there. Stear clear of this baby.

I got a free sample of this and other Belli products. they are designed to be safe for pregnant women. I am not pregnant - but I decided to try the cleanseranyway. It contains a gentle amount of Lactic acid. Good for oliy/acneic types - yet amazingly still gentle. Smells great, too. A clear gel cleanser. Nice.

So far so good. I have been using Proactiv for 11yrs and felt it stopped working for me recently. Plus I am getting older and want to use something that is more gentle. My husband and I are trying to have a baby too and I knew I'd have to stop the Proactiv anyway, so I thought I'd give this a shot now. I have only used this twice so far, but I figured I'd write a review because even after only 2 uses it has cleared up some old red marks on my cheeks that I had for months. So I am very happy, even my Proactiv wasn't doing that. My skin is very oily and this hasn't dried me out (I wish it would a little--which is why I took off 1 lippie). Every time I used a cleanser with Salicylic acid my skin would get very dry and flake off. Salicylic acid was more drying to me than Benzoyl peroxide. I also bought the Lactisen Gel 2% from Garden of Wisdom so I have been using them together. I use the Lactisen at night before bed after I wash my face. So far this routine has been working for me, I hope it continues to get even better!

Since I became pregnant my back acne has come back with a vengeance. I used to keep it in check with preventive /healing acne products but had to stop using them because they all contained salicylic acid (not to be used during pregnancy). Then I found out about the Belli acne wash on a pregnancy forum so decided to try it. I have been using it daily for a couple months now, and my acne is not fully gone, but my skin looks much better and is breaking out a lot less. I will definitely repurchase!

I'm not pregnant, nor do I plan on being for years. However, I did purchase this because I read a lot of great reviews (not from MUA) from both pregnant and non-pregnant women that it really cleared up their skin. I gave it a shot and learned that it didn't do much, or rather, anything for my acne. I'm currently using Differin (doctor prescribed acne cream) and I don't want to risk my skin getting irritated, which is why I am still sticking to this cleanser. It's the most gentle cleaner I have ever used. So even though it's not doing anything for my acne, I know it's definitely not making it worse!

Did not do much to help acne. Not pregnant just looking for something less harmful. Nice smell and foam - does not remove all make-up. No irritation at all.

I love this cleanser. After researching extensively online about pregnancy safe skin care, this is the only line that is Dr. formulated with ingredients that are pregnancy safe. After removing about 90% of my current products (I have oily, slightly blemish prone skin, so everything I had has no-no ingredients), I made a 20 mile drive and purchased two of these.
Love. Its not heavily scented, foams well enough, doesn't strip my skin, but has kept it clear and smooth. I gave a tube to my sister who is suffering from stress breakouts - so I'll have to update about that. She commented that it didn't leave her feeling clean, but she's used to heavy foams that leave squeeky clean skin. But I told her to stick with it.
I will say that it probably isn't a great makeup remover, but I use my Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil first when I need to.
This is my current HG cleanser and I'm sure I'll be using it longer than the label will apply to me!
