I have lived 15ys with this freaky dry skin that even dermatologist couldn't fix. It started in my 20's. I couldn't where makeup because all these flakes would just make it cake. Even with serums and moisturizers, no good. Exfoliating was brutal, I came out looking worse than when I started. I found this ( Christian Dior HydrAction Deep Hydration Radical Serum ) about a week ago in a box of samples my friend sent to me. I used it and thought "ok, here goes another two hours" usually I either break out (not acne, just allergy bumps)or get scaly. Nightfall came. I was still looking great. Then morning and night again. I was blown away. Even after I washed my face with water. Never have I had a product leave my face so beautifully plump, and absolutely no flakes for the whole next day. I have used it for a week every other day and no flakes. Praise the Lord, NO FLAKES!! I still have a little bit of my sample left but I cant find this product. I can't even find the ingredients so I can search for another product with the same active ingredients. Help? Sorry for the rant, I am so exited to finally feel like a person again : )

This just made my face feel sticky, tacky, and greasy. I don't feel that it soaked into my skin but rather just sat on top of the surface. I have normal to oily skin so maybe this would be better for someone with dry skin. I am very disappointed with the HydraAction line except for the eye cream which was awesome for me. They have changed the name of this line to HydraYouth and I don't know if the formulations have changed.

I'm currently using a sample of this and I do think that it lives up to its claims of hydrating the skin. I use it day and night and when I wake up in the morning my skin feels plump and hydrated. However, the results only last as long as you keep using the product, so it's only a quick fix. It's a clear viscous liquid that absorbs quickly. I can apply my moisturizer shortly after applying this serum. It's lightly scented but the smell dissipates quickly.

This stuff is pretty amazing! One teeny tiny dab is enough to make any dry spots on my face completely disappear.
My makeup goes on smoothly, and it doesn't break me out.
It's kind of a watery gel-like consistency, and it doesn't leave any film or oilyness on the skin.
I took a lippie off because it's just so darned expensive, but boy, does it do the trick!

I'm surprised by all the reviews that say this wouldn't be good for dry skin. I have very dry skin (use plain Eucerin as moisturizer sometimes) and I feel very hydrated and glowy after I use it.
I thought I maybe it was another product causing the changes, so I quit using it for a while and I noticed my skin felt drier and didn't look as glowy or healthy.
Then I thought, maybe it is just serum in general that makes my skin look better, so I got Olay Regnerist, and once again I noticed my skin not looking as fresh or feeling as hydrated.
So, I have come to the conclusion that this product is wonderful! Very hydrating and worth the money! I love it!

I received a generous sample of this from sephora. I liked it's water-y texture, I think it should be oil-free. I like my serums to be as light as possible because I have combination skin and piling on cream/heavy products is not a good idea at all.
The serum absorbed into skin very well, and I felt like it plumped my skin up a little. I used my moisturizer after the serum and my skin felt very hydrated. While it felt good, I still had dry patches on my cheeks when I woke up the next morning. This is coming from someone with normal skin in the cheek area so I am guessing it would not be too useful for people with dry skin.

I would not purchase the full bottle product because it is costly for something that does not show drastic results. If it were cheaper, I might be able to look past the fact that it is not very effective and purchase it since it makes my skin feel refreshed and did not make me break out.

I use this as a moisturiser all the time. I have fairly acne prone skin and whenever I use this regularly it stops the breakouts. My skin is also oily and this product has proven to prevent my skin from becoming shiny during the day. Although it is rather expensive, I am now using it as my regular moisturiser as it is really that good!

I got this in a sample size at Sephora, and I thought it'd just be another greasy serum. Oh my god, was I ever wrong! This is one of the best things that ever happened to my skin. It absorbs in about a millisecond and makes my skin glow AND it hydrates perfectly. Magic in a bottle. Too bad magic in a bottle is so damn expensive! I use a lot of moisturizer, so I would definitely not purchase this as a daily moisturizer because of the price. But if I happen to have an overflow of pocket change one day, I'll definitely buy this! It's amazing!

I have to say I am pretty dissapointed with the HydraAction line. All of the products I have used have let me down and this serum is no exception. It does absolutely nothing! The only plus is that it smells really nice. This might work for you if you have normal skin, but if your skin is dry, don't bother. It'll be a very expensive mistake! Dior needs to change the name of this line because it's very misleading and definitely not for dry skin.

FYI, I'm combo/acne-prone, with a penchant for serious dehydration, especially arount my nose.

I love this serum. I can use it as my moisturizer all over my face and my skin feels soothed, comfortable, and deeply hydrated. In my extremely dehydrated areas, I follow up with a barrier-creating cream like LRPs Nutrtic... i think this helps reduce evaporation off my nose and locks in the hydrating effects of this stuff, this is a great option for anyone dry or prone to extreme dehydration.

I have tried the hydrating serums from Avene, Vichy, Guerlain, Biotherm, and Clarins, and this is my favourite.

For me, the texture of this is really important. It's got a true serum texture. Slippery, rich, gelly-liquid. This is an important part of why I like this serum more than the others. It's not an oily one like Clarins(so it sinks in faster, better for combo/oily skins), and not lotion that can be too greasy(like Guerlain, plus that one stinks of roses), and not too light and gelly like Avene, Vichy and Biotherm, so it is still rich enough to make a difference - I find all of those lack substance. If you prefer one of the other textures, go for them over this, but if you're strongly dehydrated and combo/oily, this is a great option.

I don't find it breaks me out, and my skin feels conditioned after I use it.

Finally, the packaging is gorgeous, though i kinda wish it were an airless pump(sometimes it burps out serum if it's been in a travel bag on its side) and transparent so i knew how much product was left.

Price wise, it's just a bit more expensive than clarins, at $66 for 30ml in canada, but if you get the 50ml, it's only $86, cheaper than the Clarins, which only comes in one size.

I really liked how smooth soft and plump (but not greasy) I felt after this. Definitely some addictive stuff. I put it on before bed last night and woke up GLOWWWWY!

Oh hydraction serum where have u been all my life!i hate winter cos my dehydrated cheeks get more and more red and horrid and the only option of beefing up the moisturiser leaves my t zone so oily and gross!with this serum i just use my normal moisturiser and what do u know, plump, comfortable, bright, even skin with no addition to oilyness!i know wot another reviewer means when they say they it makes the skin 'whiter'! This stuff just calms the skin and makes it look and feel so refined!i love it, yet another winner from dior!who knew there were such gems hidden behind all the glitz and glamour!?

I received some generous samples of this in my last visit to the Dior counter. I have combo skin, but since I am in my late 20's, I have been trying out anti-aging serums. This one does not claim to anti-age; it is just supposed to moisturize. This is very silicone based, and something in it (propylene glycol?) Has reacted with my skin and given me a nice smattering of pimples. Maybe it's not this product, since I have the Hydraction moisturizers and didn't have any issues, but coincidentally, a few pimples showed up after I added this to my routine for 3 days in a row. As for moisturizing properties, I don't think that this alone would help if you had dry skin. It does help provide a barrier to keep the moisture in your skin after washing your face, but you would still need a separate lotion on top.

After seeing an ad for this product in a magazine I couldn't wait to try it. Especially after seeing the word “hydration”!
This is what my skin craves.

Sephora was "temporarily out of stock" which seems to be the par for this site so I bought the product at Dillards.

The serum does absorb very easily into the skin and has a really nice scent. However, my skin still felt dry after use. My skin didn't look hydrated at all. After several weeks of using the serum and seeing no results as my skin was not being hydrated, I have gone back to Olay Regenerating Serum. This works for me.

I received this product as gratis from a Dior representative, after being educated on theis product line. Hydraction products use a uniqe technology (nobel prize winning!) that activates the aquaporins in the skin. The aquaporins are the water delivery system that travel between the epidermis and the dermis (the deeper layer of the skin, where collagen and elastin live and where breakdown causes deep wrinkles). This serum (or anything in the hydraction line) activates those aquaporins and gets them moving around--so your skin stays actively hydrated. These products show 77% improvement in skin hydration upon application and--this is the good one--24 hours later, your skin still shows 30% improvement in hydration. I love this serum because it's a great hydration boost--I put it under my face cream last night and this morning, and my skin feels plump, moist, clear, and very bright (I almost look more pale, if that makes any sense--my skin is more luminous). I was happy to see how my sun damaged decollete (especially between my breasts, where I'm starting to wrinkle) plumped up nicely from this stuff. I give it two thumbs up!

I have used this serum many times and I always go back to it. It makes my skin feel great and it hydrates, so my skin looks very radiant and healthy as a result. It's pricey but I think it's worth it. I use my Dior moisturizer on top.

I bought the serum version bc It has the lightest texture of all the products in the hydraction line(but also I own the fluid version see my review If you like). But still It was too much for my oily skin and I broke out.So I stoped using it daily and I was using It like once or twice a week.Has nice, clear gel like texture, relieves temporarely at least from dryness and skin looks and feels fresh and clear.Another good thing is the smell unfortunately this product as all the dior products have perfum in them lucky thing this one doesn t smell like an old lady s perfume but smells freshness.I wont buy this product again bc I like moisture surge line by clinique more

A very lightweignt serum with a rose/floral scent. This absorbs easily into the skin. Essentially, this is a water based serum with a bit of glycerin and hyaluronic acid. Contains alcohol and paraben preservatives. Not really worth $69 for 1.7 oz when there are much better hyaluronic acid serums available (Skinceuticals B-5, Cellex C hydra 5 B complex, Derma E HA serum).
