Review of Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream by vesper369
I bought this because I'm trying to switch to drugstore products from prestige brands to save some money. This was my new year's resolution, and I have been very pleased with my experiment so far.
This Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Cream is great - I have sensitive, combo, acne-prone skin with discoloration, and this has really been keeping it soft and smooth without any breakouts. It does have a strong fragrance, but I actually like the scent. I have been using it either as a basic night cream or basic day cream. I use a retinol product 2-3 nights a week, but my skin doesn't tolerate retinol more than that, so I use this on the other nights. I also use this in the morning if I'm not going to be going outside anytime soon.
I wish that they would make a version of this with physical sunblock like zinc oxide. Right now Regenerist makes 3 products with SPF, but they all contain avobenzone which my skin is allergic to. But, if I'm going outside, I'll just throw some Neutrogena Pure & Free Liquid SPF 50 over this, which is very light & they layer nicely. If I don't feel like layering products, I really like the Olay Complete SPF 30 for Sensitive Skin (it has zinc oxide instead of avobenzone).
Instead of this Deep Hydration Cream, I had originally purchased the Micro Sculpting Cream which has won all of the awards, but I hated the fact that it had micro-glitter in it. I did feel the tightening effect on my face, but I thought the glitter was very fake looking. I much prefer the semi-matte, natural finish of this cream. Plus the applicator is great - much better than an open pot.
The only reason that I took off a lippie was because they don't offer an SPF version of this product. Otherwise, it's a great moisturizer for day or night.
