Review of MAC Pro Longwear Lustre - Night Rose by Pipmon
I've been wary of purchasing another longwear lipstick after a horrible experience with one from Revlon in the past. (It made my lips crack and bleed within a few HOURS of wearing it!)
Recently separated and on the hunt for work and a new place, I wanted something I wouldn't have to worry about applying again and again, or feeling a fool if I left lipstick marks on glasses at interviews/meetings/outings and the like.
I actually had gone to the Elizabeth Arden portion of the store and received no help or service and was constantly looked over for more "dressy" customers! Three women over at the MAC counter were cooing over my daughter, so I figured what the heck, at least they were nice!
The rep was fantastic at helping me pick out this shade and I just love it. I was wary of how it would last and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was still on around midnight, even though the application was made around mid-morning.
As with any longwear, of course it doesn't stand much of a chance against severely greasy foods (as baby oil is the godsend of removers for any longwear product), but it withstands regular foods, teas (not a coffee fan, sorry!), you name it! It even passed the "intense" tests that on the commercials is just chalked up to a kiss on the cheek. ;)
The color is fantastic and works for both the work and nighttime atmosphere, so there's no worry about having to do a quick change if you don't have the time to do it.. Like previous reviews, I love how you can purchase the gloss separately, so there's no massive waste.
Another nice tidbit? (Not sure if this applies to all MAC stores, but this was relevant to my area...) If you return your empty MAC containers to their stores, after you've returned x-many, you receive a free item of your choice (I think just their regular lipsticks or some such sort), which is a pretty nifty recycling program in my opinion!
I'm hoping this shade sticks around, because I absolutely LOVE it! <3
