Review of Estee Lauder Double Wear by babyjane14
I have been using this for about a month now so I feel like I can review it confidently. Estee Lauder recently came out with 4 new shades that are very yellow-toned so I finally decided to cave in and purchase their Double Wear Foundation. I was matched to the shades, 2W2 Rattan & 3W2 Cashew mixed together, which suits my NC37 coloring but I didn't want to purchase both so I decided to get the lighter shade Rattan and just use a bronzer. Cashew I believe would be perfect for someone who is NC40.
I have very oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin and this is everything I want in a foundation. It keeps my t-zone matte, I only have to blot and powder by lunchtime on a working day and it doesn't aggravate my skin or cause breakouts. Also, It lasts beautifully, I've gone through a whole work day and had a 'cat nap' with this on after dinner (too many times!) and I wake up to still a relatively matte, concealed complexion, its amazing for its lasting power!
I apply this with my fingers to warm up the product so its easier to spread but I'm going to buy a Beauty Blender as I've heard that's the best method for applying Double Wear. If I needed to pick at something, it would be the application; Its not very "spreadable" and you have to buff it in fast, but as long as you get the hand of it, it looks flawless.
This doesn't feel heavy on the skin to me at all, but I am used to wearing foundation & I only apply a small amount of this foundation as it has medium to full coverage, so not much is needed.
Overall, I'm very happy that I picked this up as its fast become my holy grail foundation. Highly recommend you try this out!
