I am surprised at the low reviews on here. I picked up Heather on a whim, and it has quickly become one of my everyday staples. I am Asian, about NC20ish in skintone, and it is quite complementary to my skin and eye color. It is a mid-tone mauvey-purple with no shimmer - totally not a color I would have picked for myself, but I find that it looks pretty as a wash all over the lid, and paired with black gel liner and mascara. It also looks pretty atop a goldish shimmery-beige shadow, like Laura Mercier Sandbar. If you have time for more effort, it also looks great as a base for purple smokey eyes.

The Bobbi Brown cream shadows can be applied with just your fingers, or, to ensure you are picking up enough product, you can dip a brush into the pot to get the product, and then use your fingers to smooth it out on your eyelids. For this particular color, you want to make sure you get enough product; otherwise, yes, it can look dull when too much skintone shows through.

I have several shades of these, and they apply creamy and then "set," and you don't have to worry about creasing, smudging, or fading. Excellent product through and through.
