This is available in 200ml for $40 or 360ml for $60. It is not thick at all, has an herbal scent that I like. It comes in a blue plastic container that doesn't look cheap at all, and it is made in Japan. Unlike most products, this one claims to be made from different Asian herbs. For almost two years, I was a Proactiv user. I came to a point where the occasional peeling has worn me out. Prior to purchasing this line, I used Proactiv's skin brightening to even out my skin tone. It was expensive for such small amount! After doing my research, I chose Medicated Sekkisei over Shiseido's White Lucent line even though I thought (at that time) MS was much harder to purchase in the US. I bought the 360mL bottle for $60. Might seem expensive to shell out that much at once, however for the quantity and quality it is a bargain! I used this religiously for 3 months, along with the whitening peel-off mask, emulsion and bar soap which I love so much!!!! My skin has gotten brighter and more radiant! People complimented how nice my skin was. I didn't know how to wear makeup at the time, and I'd just use it to cover my acne. When they were complimenting my skin, I wasn't even using any powder. They couldn't believe I had acne for so long. My skin is also very oily. Although this is not an oil-free product, it balances the amount of moisture on my skin. I didn't look dry, just the right amount of moisture and no shine at all. When I wake up in the mornings, I loved the fresh and radiant look of my skin. And to think I used to dread looking in the mirror first in thing the morning. While on this line, I would just marvel for a few minutes at how my skin has dramatically improved. It's not only me who has seen positive results with this product. My brother has even worse acne than me, and medications aren't working for him. Maybe it's his fault or the medicine itself. However he started using my stuff, and his acne started to die down. It didn't disappear, but it noticably decreased. No more cystic pimples, no more bleeding, lesser redness. In my case, I would have a few occasional pimples but they never grew larger than a small bump. It would then slowly disappear. One difference between this and proactiv was, with proactiv my pimple would turn dark and not fade (thus the use of the brightening lotion/serum/cream--can't remember now). But with Sekkisei, the pimple didn't turn dark! It's trace would disappear completely in a matter of a few days. About 6 months ago, I decided to use a different skincare line specially for acne and I also wanted to try other brands. It was hard for me to wait for Sekkisei in the mail. So I was really thinking that the other line is more convenient and may work better. If not, then I could finally try Shiseido. But I was wrong. All the improvements I had with Sekkisei was wasted. I regretted it so much! I never had a breakout-free day after changing lines. :(( I had cystic pimples and scars it left behind! My skin was uncontrollably oily. That was just a few months of not using Sekkisei. I just learned that this is (or has been) easily accessible at local Niemann Marcus and Bath and Body Works! I'm back on it and no more breakouts. The only pimple on my face is the one that was left prior to returning to this line. It is shrinking and I'm free of too much oil when I wake up in the morning! My goal is to be make-up/powder/concealer-free when I leave the house. Never will I change lines again. Do not expect this to whiten (pale kind of white) the skin. I'm a bit tanned. A pale face and a tanned body is definitely not what I want. In conclusion, I love this product for brightening (not whiten) my complexion - more of a healthy glow, controlling oil, preventing and treating pimples, the herbal ingredient and smell, making my skin soft and smooth and most importantly fading my scars away.EDIT (06/13/07): My review prior to edit was just two weeks at most of continuously using Sekkisei. Now at three weeks, still no new pimple! This is the first and longest in over six months.
