I'm was given the sample size of the entire AS system to try and have been using it for 2+ weeks. This, along with the cleanser and toner are my 3 favorites. I have combo-mostly oily but dehydrated skin. If I use the wrong stuff, I am a greasy mess within a few hours and my pores are the size of those holes in the sidewalk you can fall in to. I've been using EmerginC's tinted spf30 for years and adore it 'cuz it doesn't grease me out, evens skin tone, keeps pores to a minimum, and provides stable ss, but since I have the entire AS system, thought I'd try this instead. I am really glad I did.
Description from Dermalogica:a medium-weight, emollient daily moisturizer with SPF30 formulated to encourage firmness, elasticity and hydration while helping to defend against the primary cause of skin aging. It contains a patented polypeptide combined with Glucosamine and Soy stimulates collagen synthesis to enhance the skinís natural ability to fight skin-aging free radicals (Reactive Oxygen Species) and helps prevent the signs of aging caused by sugar reacting with proteins in skin (AGEs). White Tea polyphenols regulate the formation of collagen-degrading MMPs brought on by UV rays while tripeptides, stabilized Vitamin C, Yeast Extract and Phytoestrogens help catalyze the skinís natural collagen production to enhance skin firmness. Advanced sunscreen technology provides critical protection from daylight exposure, yet blends smoothly into skin to create a perfected finish.
When I first used this I thought uh-oh...its going to grease me out. It is very emollient and initially goes on very shiny and appears very oily. BUT...after 15-20 min it soaks into my skin and disappears completely. No white cast whatsoever. The finish is dewy, but not oily. Doesn't ball up when putting mu, blush or powder over it. It seems to have normalized my skin quite a bit. I am MUCH less oily at the end of the day using this than anything else. I did have a couple of days worth of minor purging (3 tiny spots), but it went away quickly and hasn't come back since. And my skin is looking so plump, smooth and healthy! Yesterday for the first time in a very long time I went to work with nothing on my face except this, TF's invisible powder on t-zone only, a tiny bit of blush, mascara and lip balm only and felt perfectly confident and comfortable. I got a lot of comments on how "rested" I looked. One girl asked me if I was wearing a new foundation or blush 'cuz I looked so "fresh" :) I can't speak to the packaging since I only have the samples, but the full size is about $60 for 1.7 oz, although you can find it on sale for a lot cheaper or on ebay. Will definitely be buying the full size of this, the cleanser, toner and masque from the AS line.
