Review of Make Up For Ever Face & Body Liquid Make Up by Eeeeelicia
I consider myself somewhat of a foundation junkie, but I always kind of ignored MUFE F&B. A Sephora SA once told me I needed to avoid it because it would "clog my pores and cause acne." I have extremely sensitive/acne-prone skin, I figured that was all I needed to hear to never want to use it. I use Tazorac gel (0.1%) and Aczone, and certain areas of my face, mainly my chin and jawline, tend to flake/peel. Even with heavy moisturizing, my foundation would just sit on top of the flakes. When I started to look into moisturizing/hydrating foundations, I rediscovered MUFE F&B. To my surprise, I read that it wasn't actually likely to be bad for sensitive skin (ugh Sales Associate from Sephora). I wear shade 38, which works wells for my very fair skin. Unfortunately, I have yet to apply this with a foundation brush without tons of streaking. When I use a cosmetic wedge, the results are quite nice. The coverage is light, but it's somewhat buildable. I see a teeny bit of flakiness showing through, but not nearly as much as before. But remember, I'm an extreme case with ridiculously dry skin from two topical retinoids. Considering all of that, I'm pretty happy with this foundation.
UPDATE: Well, don't I feel silly. After reading some other reviews, I tried applying this with my Sigma F80, and WOW does it make a difference! Absolutely zero streaking, and it's so much more buildable than before. If you have an F80, I would really recommend using it to apply this foundation.
UPDATE 2: Well, I've been using this foundation regularly for almost 5 months now and I'm almost finished with my first bottle. I have around 4 or 5 foundations in my rotation, and this is definitely the one I reach for most often. It's not easy to find an exact color match being an N/NW10-12 (did I make that one up?), but shade 38 is by far the best match I've ever used. It's perfect. I no longer use topical retinoids, so flaking is no longer an issue. I still prefer to apply with the Sigma F80 as it gives the best finish. I changed my overall rating from a 4 to a 5. I highly recommend this foundation!
