Review of MAC Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF 50 by youwillneverfindme
Ah, my tried and true, expensive workhorse *sigh*, when will I learn not to cheat. (I recently tried Neutrogena’s Sheer Liquid Sunblock and to my dismay, discovered my skin broken out into a fiercely itchy, red rash a day or two after). I’ve bought countless tubes of this stuff and of course will be buying more in the future.
PROS:
-Sunscreen: if you use enough of this stuff (but you must use a good bit to benefit from the spf).
-Packaging is chic, although I think I’d prefer a closable pump.
-Primer helps control oil throughout the day and leaves a diffused look to the skin if you decided not to wear foundation/concealer. Of course it also helps makeup last longer.
-Primer effect lasts about 12 hours on me on a normal day. On hot, humid days, I need the help of Blot powder.
-Counts as part of the back to MAC program (which I love).
CONS:
-price. $30 for 1 fl oz (30 mL)=expensive stuff in my book. Especially if you’re having to buy it on a monthly basis. I’ll be honest, this is one beauty product I’d love to find a replacement for and I'm still searching. It’s just not a thrilling, “fun” product to be a slave to.
-Feels heavy on the skin, which I deal with because I haven’t found anything lighter than performs as well.
MY SKIN: 30 years old, Caucasian, nw15 and wrinkle free but I notice it beginning to lose elasticity, oily but smooth with rare, small blemishes.
