Review of MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 by jinglingjambo
I originally went to MAC to try Face&Body after hearing great reviews but I was recommended the Fix Fluid as I have oily skin.
I was colour-matched to NW20 which I initially thought was too dark (after I'd bought it and gone home of course) but after plentiful reassurance from friends and family, it is definitely the right shade!
When the SA applied Fix Fluid, I was overjoyed when I saw that a thin layer of this foundation (swept on with a MAC 187) completely hid all the redness on my cheeks, chin and nose. I was ecstatic as I am used to using heavy-duty foundations to cover this. MAC FF covered this with ease and I felt like my skin could breathe (unlike with ELDW).
As with all MAC bottle foundations, you get a sleek glass bottle, which if you're like me, you'll be paranoid about breaking it. I rated it a 3 on packaging for the glass bottle and the fact that ideally you need to buy a pump to get the right amount out, which is cheeky.
MAC FF is a good foundation that matches well, doesn't oxidise and covers a lot of sins. The only reason I would not repurchase this and am still on my hunt for my HG is because the oil control isn't very good. Considering how many boxes this foundation ticked, I was quite disappointed that I was recommended this particular foundation for my oily skin when I use an oil-control primer, oil mattifying lotion on top and an oil-control setting powder and I was SLICK by the time I got home from work. Bourjois Healthy Mix saw me through a day at work better than MAC FF. So, if you have oily/problem skin like me but have the time to blot your face regularly then I'd recommend this.
