Review of MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 by Leisolette
I bought this product on impulse the other day because I happened to be out of foundation and was near a M.A.C outlet.
The verdict?
Pros:
-Blends really easily. Doesn't leave any streak marks even if you apply this with your fingers.
-Coverage is great. I got a really flawless finish after using this with Missha's pore minimising base and Too Faced's loose powder.
-Doesn't settle into fine lines or crease.
-Has a really wide range of shades.
Cons:
-It broke me out. HORRIBLY. I waited a week before writing this review and I truly hoped that it wouldn't break me out,- but it unfortunately ended up doing so. I'm not someone who breaks out (I do get the occasional pimple here and there, but VERY rarely). I used it for a week and noticed that my jawline had horrible cystic acne.
-This thing oxidises really quickly. I got matched with NC20 at the counter (which is actually a really lousy match seeing how I have more red than warm undertones) and the resultant yellow hue is exaggerated.
-Staying power of around 5 hours or so before it starts getting oily. I have combination skin and cheaper foundations such as Maybelline's Angelfit do not cause my skin to get oily. This piece is an exception..
-Packaging sucks. This thing could really use a pump.
Would I repurchase/recommend?
Probably not. As much as I love the coverage this foundation gives, the breakouts are unacceptable! STAY AWAY even if you don't have acne prone skin.
