Review of MAC Studio Fix - C30 by stellina
I used this for years & then strayed for a while when I discovered foundations from Asian brands that were truly yellow-toned. Studiofix also seemed heavy & cakey because my skin was changing (all right, AGING), but I've discovered that it had to do with application. Forget the sponge - I got that wonderful little MAC buffer brush in a Pro store thanks to some recommendations here, and it certainly does the trick. My skin looks smooth & velvety, but most importantly, everything is covered! Coverage had gotten to be a problem with some of the other powder foundations that I tried (also availability - you don't want to have to hunt for your foundation because you use it all the time), and since it's summertime, I thought I'd try good old Studiofix and I'm glad I did. I apply it over Strobe Cream and it lasts through these hot, sticky days. As for the shade, the C series is much better for yellow/olive skintones than the NC, which tends to look ashy. I don't understand why MAC didn't keep the C series in its other formulas, but I don't like those anyway. Studiofix will definitely be too dry for fall & winter, but for a summer foundation it's unbeatable.
