Review of MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Stubborn Brown by Caprig
I have had a horrible year with watery eyes this past year, after having an allergic reaction to some eyeshadows I tried for the first time. At some points, it has gotten so that I could not put ANYTHING on my eyes that would stay put. On top of that, many things have irritated my eyes that usually would not, making matters even worse.
Although the watery eyes come and go as they get better every day, I have finally sought out some waterproof products for those days when nothing else will stay on.
For the shadows, I have found the LANCOME COLOR DOSE work better with no irritation than any other shadows- MAC paints have several colors that bother me, so I tend to avoid many of those.
What I could not find was a liner for those days when I could not even count on mascara lasting. Again, it had to be something that would not further irritate my sensitive eyes. Recently I purchased the MAC POWERPOINT EYE PENCIL IN STUBBORN BROWN and was ready for a disappointment.
I grabbed it the other day when my eyes were watering terribly and put it on. I was in shock when I saw it was almost all still in place at night, except for one tiny corner. There had been no irritation at all- an added bonus!
So far, this liner has lasted all day on many occasions. I have not used it with heavy applications of shadow or base yet, so I have not thoroughly tested it. I plan to update this when I do, however.
Alone, this liner really gives me that classy look, even when mascara is not working for me.
I find it very smooth to apply- no tugging or roughness. It dries in literally 60 seconds, so I have my smudger ready to get to it right away.
I have found that the straight line is okay, but I also dot it on for those more "natural" looking days. Then I dot it on some more, making a blended look, instead of a straight line. This provides a rough area if I act quickly enough, to put shadow liner over it and the slight tackiness makes it stay quite well. That way I can tone it down to other colors if I like.
As for remover, I have tried many removers that work with everything else, but really do not touch this. The only one so far I have tried that works perfectly is LANCOME BI-FACIL.
The way I do it is to dip a cotton swab into the remover and use that to clean the liner from my eyes. Works like a charm, and if you are careful not to accidentally get it in your eyes, there is no aftershock either.
Only liner I have ever used that stays put despite my watery eyes that seem to eat through ANY makeup!
