Review of Philosophy Soul Owner by Bianca80
For years this was my favorite foot cream. What I loved about this was the fact it had AHAs in it,so as well as moisturize it would exfoliate the dead&dry skin on my feet. Most foot creams don't have AHAs in it. B&BW's and DDF are the other foot moisturizers I am aware of that have this ingredient in it. DDFs product is great all around. B&BWs foot cream is greasy and smells like Pine cleaning solution.
I don't know what Phil has done to this product but it just doesn't seem the same. Christina Carlino (the woman who started Philosophy) sold Phil a couple years ago. Since then it seems like their products are not as strong or as effective.. Before with Soul Owner, only a dime size was enough to do each foot. That foot stayed moisturized all through the night(I am not one of those people who put foot cream on, then socks over top). Now I need to use much more. Even then, 30 minutes and my feet feel dry again. So what used to last me a few months was now being used up double time.
Cost, for what you get, 14.00 is not bad at all. Especially for how long it used to last and the ingredients used. As for packaging, yes a squeeze tube is way better then a tub that a person would have to 'scoop' the product out of. It would be awesome if they did a pump bottle though. That would keep the outside of the tube more clean.
When it comes to foot and hand creams one of the worst things I hate is the feeling of grease. This product does not do that. It did sink right in and moisturize, not just sit on top of the skin all night (hello Neutrogena and L'Occt, i'm looking right at ya:) the price point was great, the product was awesome, I just wish Soul Owner went back to the product I feel in love with years ago.
As for what i'm using now, DDFs foot cream. It has the AHAs and is much stronger and way better. I just hope they dont decide to fudge the ingredient deck to save a few pennies also
